JoeMI6 Posted October 12, 2008 Posted October 12, 2008 The Dark Knight is the sequel to Batman Begins, but there is a slight gap in between the two. The DVD movie Batman: Gotham Knight serves to fill some of that gap, check it out if you liked BB. Quote
hollisbrick Posted October 13, 2008 Posted October 13, 2008 Well on saturday night I watched Eurotrip (funny as) AVP 1 (1st time) and 10 000 bc which was pretty awsome Quote
Justin2224 Posted October 13, 2008 Posted October 13, 2008 Iron Man. It was a great movie, but it was btter in the theater. I have watched several times now. Quote
hollisbrick Posted October 18, 2008 Posted October 18, 2008 I just watched "The Happening" It was alright, it actually made sense in the end and it was quite credible. Wanted it to be a bit more scary though Been think of renting out AVP 2, is it good? Bout to watch a documentary of Greenday Quote
JINZONINGEN73 Posted October 19, 2008 Posted October 19, 2008 Juno Pretty decent movie. A LOT better than I thought it would be. Reading the back of the box, it sounded like it'd be some wacky (not very credible) road trip type movie. It was far from it. The attitude of the characters was great.... you didn't have any of the obligatory unintelligent moron type characters that appear in nearly every show and movie. Likewise, there really were no "oh my god, they did something really stupid" type moments. Everyone was pretty much trustworthy in the flick, no dregs of humanity type shit going on to make you feel stupid for being part of the human race. No dramatic (corny) "fights" or yelling over who was responsible for her getting pregnant. Their approach to abortion was also realistic and not condescending to people on either side of the issue. Yeah, this was a pretty damn good movie. It's a keeper. I liked the unpolished, college radio type music in the soundtrack too. Synopsis: -16 year old chick gets pregnant. -decides to find a cool couple who need a kid of their own. -quickly finds one. -Juno's cool, over-the-top character makes the husband in that couple question why he can't be cool and over-the-top like her anymore. The rest of it is Juno's interaction with the couple and the others in her life. Waaaaatch iiiiiiiit. My only gripe is that when her water breaks, she yells "Thundercats are go!"... though I think it's dropping 2 cultural references with one stone... from Thunderbirds, "Thunderbirds are go!" and Thundercats, "Thundercats ho!". Should've stuck to just one or the other lol. Quote

Shoc Posted October 19, 2008 Posted October 19, 2008 I saw Mirrors at the cinema yesterday. It was suspenseful and creepy, but I laughed more than I got scared. A great movie, with lots of (unintentionally) funny bits, like the flying nun! I thought the closed-down Mayflower department store (the main setting) was very creepy and so were what was in its mirrors. I liked the soundtrack a lot too, I thought I recognised it, then found out it was an existing piece of music, which would be why. :skull: Quote
darkrebellion Posted October 20, 2008 Posted October 20, 2008 TROPIC THUNDER! Finally after some time I manage to see tropic thunder and I need to say it is an awesome movie and a really intelligent one . When the movie start everything goes well with some laughs and well you know, but after the meeting of the producer (Tom Cruise) with the director of the movie everything goes hilarous. I think it has a great storyline (Something that usually you don´t see in a comedy movie) and it doesn´t abuse of the comedy and is funny in the moments it need . I think anyone who wants to see an intelligent movie should go to see this one. Quote

Justin2224 Posted November 2, 2008 Posted November 2, 2008 I watched I am Legend yesterday. It was good, but not what I expected. I was told that it was creepy, but I found it to be more sad than anything. I mean the guy lost everything, first his family, then his dog, and then of course he has to blow himself to hell with that grenade. Quote

I thoguht the scene at the beginning where he goes into the dark mutant nest to get his dog was pretty damn creepy! But, yeah, the rest of the movie is kinda said. Quote
Lego12 Posted November 8, 2008 Posted November 8, 2008 (edited) I finished watching Get Smart! 5/5! It's one of the funniest movies I've ever seen! Edited November 8, 2008 by Lego12 Quote
darkrebellion Posted November 8, 2008 Posted November 8, 2008 I just finish of seeing Dragon Wars. I rented this movie because it looks interesting and with some cool CGI effect but at the end I just could said: WHAT? . The movie is pretty strange and the story is pretty twisted in almost every way you see it. When you finish of seeing the movie you end with a lot of no answered questions and some kind of feel of emptiness in the whole movie. I actually don´t like the acting (I don´t want it to be like The Godfather but at least some emotions ) and all the characters are pretty bad developed . The CGI part is great and the effects are neat (It is really good but all the other cons in the movie just leave this like a pointless pro). I only can save a part from the movie to be good and that is the city battle sequence which is cool but not totally great . At the end I finish with a big dissapointment movie with not so many pros . Quote
darkrebellion Posted November 15, 2008 Posted November 15, 2008 The last movie I have watched is Quantum of Solace and here are my thoughts: To start I need to said I am REALLY DISSAPOINTED with this movie, it is simply the worst 007 movie in my opinion . Firstly, I suggest anyone that want to see this movie to see before Csino Royale because if you enter in the teather without watching this last one it is going to be very difficult to understand this one. The plot is a totally mess it maybe done it like a sequel but as a stand alone movie it just lost its point. The story has many holes and the whole movie is pretty fast (It just run for about an hour an a half ). The acting is good but the number of characters that the movie own just make this point nonsense . There is any memorable action sequence all of them start and end very quicky and are also pointless too. To finish the whole villian is one of the worst things it don´t even have reasonable reasons to be a villian . I sincerely don´t like this movie but I am pretty sure some else maybe like it. Quote
JimBee Posted November 15, 2008 Posted November 15, 2008 Hmm, that's not good, darkrebellion. I'm seeing that next Friday for my birthday... hopefully It'll be better than what you thought. But only an hour and a half?! Quote
Oky Posted November 15, 2008 Posted November 15, 2008 I saw Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa last weekend. It was pretty good. It had more story than the last one: 1 main plot about Alex reuniting with his family and a couple of side plots. The main plot felt a lot like that of Lion King, which makes you think if this was an intended reference or not. The side plots are all quite allright. The whole movie was fun, but I think I liked the first one better because the plot was more original and the gags funnier. Quote
darkrebellion Posted November 15, 2008 Posted November 15, 2008 Hmm, that's not good, darkrebellion. I'm seeing that next Friday for my birthday... hopefully It'll be better than what you thought. But only an hour and a half?! I think maybe you are going to like it, after all that was just my opinion. Again, I really suggest you to see Casino Royale before enter look this one. If you own it watch it again if you don´t own it I suggest you to rent it than the movie is maybe a lot more enyojable (I entered to see this movie yesterday and the last time I saw Casino Royale was when it was in teather and to be honest I don´t understand Quantum perfectly because of this issue too ). And yes, it start and finish pretty quickly and I am actually correct at this point (I was looking for some review about Quantum after saw it and all the sites said it is the shortest 007 movie), to be exact it runs for an hour and forthy-five minutes . But than this are ll my opinion so go in your birthday to see it with positive feelings . Quote
Lt. Col. Thok Posted November 16, 2008 Posted November 16, 2008 I just saw Quantum of Solace - It was, quite frankly, a freakn' shweet sequel to Casino Royale. I look at this film as more of an epilogue to Casino Royale than a stand-alone, Bond getting everything of his chest before he continues his megablocks-whipping. Lots of revenge, stunts (the opening car chase was awesome), and...well, there's a plane in it that looks exactly like the one from the Indy set! I fully intend to make a Lego version of that scene. The only bad part I found the movie had would be the opening song. Nothing at all like Chris Cornell's "You Know My Name" from Casino Royale. It was short, but it didn't really seem like it. A good conspiracy thriller, a bit like the Bourne series, without the "no, really, who am I?" element. Jim, I think you'll enjoy it. And darkrebellion, the worst Bond by far is Moonraker. Ugh. Quote
darkrebellion Posted November 21, 2008 Posted November 21, 2008 (edited) Just finished of watch The Return of the Jedi : Like I have said before this is my favorite SW film and to be honest even if this is like the sixth time I have seen it I still like it ALOT!!! The new versions of the 2004 pack really make this movie look great (The other day I was watching ALIEN 3 and to be honest I think it really needs a modification cause it looks so old ) and I like the changes that George do with this one (The addition of Theed in the celebration sequence and how they change the old Anakin with Hayden Christensen ). The battle of Endor (Both in space and ground) still are my favorites of the whole SW story and after look at this I can Edited November 21, 2008 by darkrebellion Quote
JimBee Posted November 22, 2008 Posted November 22, 2008 I saw Quantum of Solace, and I have to say that it was good. Not like like Casino Royale, but still good. It brought back the old style of Bond, which can be good or bad depending on how you look at it. The story was okay, and the action was good. I wish it had more gadgets... and Q... 2.5/5 from me. Majek Posted November 23, 2008 Posted November 23, 2008 I saw Identity last night. Amazing. Shocking ending..The cast performed very well. The twist is clever but needs you to be totally into the film to understand it. Very exciting, unpredictable and mysterious movie. This is by far the best psychological thriller i have ever seen. It takes it to psychological horror. The reason the movie was amazing was the director and the actors. If you watch the directors cut you'll hear for your self how much of a movie genius the director, James Mangold is. He's brilliant, and as a result, so is his movie!!! Quote
darkrebellion Posted November 24, 2008 Posted November 24, 2008 Yesterday I saw Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire . I need to said that this is my favorite HP film cause in my opinion is the most entertained (Sorry, I haven´t read the books so my like is to the movie and no to the books themselves ). The three stages of the championship where cool with the fist one been my favorite (The duel with the dragon). I recommened it to anyone that wants to spend a good time seeing a sweet movie. I need to said that it was a pretty cool movie but unfortunately it was followed by a poor sequel . Quote
