I finally got around to seeing Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen last night. I honestly thought that by Revenge of the Fallen, that it meant Megatron (who wasn't called Galvatron for some reason), Blackout, and all of the others that were killed in the first movie, but he was a giant Robo-man that reminded me of a monkey..... I still really liked the movie, and did not find the confusing aspects that were complained about so much, so oh well.

Van Wilder 3, abysmal reallied to heavily on the nudity.

Is that the Rise of Taj? If so I watched that the other day; it was actually better than I expected, though I didn't expect much to tell you the truth.

"Kung Fu Panda: The Kaboom of Doom"?! This'll be interesting. Gee, I wonder what that kaboom will be... :hmpf: Too much of some specific Chinese food, and you'll pay; good things come in moderation.

"Shrek Forever After"? I personally liked the series, it was funny. I don't think it would have been as enjoyable without Eddie Murphy, though.

Although, I love both film studios, I don't get why everyone's so fired up about something that's not really going to change. While I see Oky's point along the lines of some Dreamworks movies copying Pixar, Shrek was a completely new idea, as was Kung Fu Panda.

Anyway, the last movie I watched was Pink Panther 2. Steve Martin is hilarious! The humor isn't really too overdone, IMO, and there is some twists towards the end that I would never have expected.

This spoiler contains the outcome of the film! Read at the risk of ruining watching the movie!

Turns out that Sonia is the culprit, and a hilarious chase around the building occurs. And I was rather suprised when she shot the Pink Panther and Clouseau proves that she shot a fake, and that he's had the real one all along.

A great movie, but not as good as the first one. :classic:

I saw Orphan last weekend. It definately earned it's R rating in the first few minutes of the movie. The characters were flawed enough that some of the obvious outs (which every horror movie has, so it comes with the territory) could be overlooked. The only problem is the marketing. It makes you wonder what the big suprise is, which of course sets you up for the fact that there is a big suprise and the girl isn't just an evil little girl. Even though what turned out to be the big reveal was among my guesses, the movie was still okay for what it was. I try to give most R rated horror movies a chance because I am tired of watered down PG 13 horror movies (though I admit some of them aren't bad) and this one kept me entertained throughout.

A few days before that I saw the new Harry Potter movie. I don't have any real problems with the movie, but it is essentially filler to move the plot along towards the finale. Usually the middle of a trilogy gets this job, but somehow they waited until just before the end in this series. You could probably watch the first and last half hour to get everything you need from this movie. It was slow, but I didn't hate it.

Man on Wire - 9.5/10

Some great footage and photography, with very emotional and exciting commentary from the rope 'dancer' himself (the name escapes me). Seeing him doing all the preparation and training was spellbinding. I still felt uneasy when I saw him going over the precipice, even though I knew he would be alright. A must watch film, but sad when you are reminded what happened on 9/11. :sadnew:

V for Vendetta- 5/10

An okay storyline, but the only good things were Natalie Portman and the action scenes. Luckily I watched it on TV and did not pay to see it in the cinema.

A little silly IMO. :hmpf_bad:

The Collector.

Not what i was expecting, at all. Basically a a guy that is working on this house, finds out were the owner is hiding all his valubles. He finds out that his wife (or ex wife, can't remember) is in debt to some loan sharks and will do some bad things if the debt isn't paid by tonight. He goes back in the house to steal the valuables so he can pay of her loan sharks, only to find out the family who was supposed to be on vacation, is actually being held hostage by a slasher. Let me tell you, this guy makes Jigsaw look like Pooh Bear. Its very graphic, and not for the faint of heart. If you like slasher films, you will probably like this movie. If not, then I'd suggest you pass.

Been sick so had lots of time to watch movies, watched Final Destination 1 - 3 in HD, good movies, some of the deaths are pretty cool, like the tanning bed in 3.

And Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, the original from the 90s with live action in HD, not the remake poor cgi one.

I just finished rereading all of the Harry Potter books so I decided to go back and watch all the movies. I also just watched Clash of the Titans for a school project.

Just saw the new Harry Potter movie, and it was great! A lot of charactisation, with many emotional moments.

If you have not seen it, go now!

Coraline.

The animation was spectacular! It was rather long, but it was very enjoyable.

It was a tad creepy and scary, too. Don't watch it with a child, unless you want to have them to camp out in your room.

Just saw G.I. Joe. It was a mindless, fun, action and CGI-laden popcorn flick. I expected nothing more from a movie that is based on a line of action figures. One thing I will remember about this movie is that it was such a cliche comic book movie that I had the impression I was watching Lego Alpha Team: The Movie! It had everything:

A secret underwater lair that self-destructs at the end, cool vehicles and gadgets, topless fighting ninja brothers with opposing beliefs, a cyborg mad scientist super villain with a deep voice and silly backstory, and a cliffhanger ending that simply screams "Sequel"

. If you think you can enjoy such a movie, by all means, go see it. It was really enjoyable for me.

FYI, since I only moved to the US 4 years ago, I had no clue until now what G.I. Joe was. This might have been partly the reason why I was able to enjoy the movie so much.

Oh yeah, and Rachel Nichols and Sienna Miller were really hot in this movie! :sweet: They made Megan Fox look like an average teenage girl.

It played fast and loose with several elements of the backstory (yet with things like Destro's ancestor it was spot on which just leaves me shaking my head) so in some ways this was GIJoe like the gadgets, the action (though now with actual deaths and not lots of missing), self destructing base (not a spoiler at all to anyone who saw the cartoon or read the comic book), quasi-sci-fi elements to the plot, etc. However in terms of back story lots of things with the Baroness, Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow, and "Rex" were off to put it mildly.

The Baroness is not "Rex's" brother and didn't marry into the aristocracy and isn't an American. Her motivation for taking up international terrorism was the death of her brother, but he really did die in Vietnam which is where she met Destro who she really did love. Storm Shadow and Snake Eyes met during Vietnam where they were in the same unit. Snake Eyes is mute because he went into the burning wreckage of a crashed helicopter to rescue Scarlett, not because of a vow of silence. Speaking of Scarlett, she is supposed to be in love with SNake Eyes, not Ripcord. Ripcord isn't supposed to be black and I only bring that up because there are other black characters to choose from (ad about any other race while we are at it) so changing the race of an existing character wasn't necessary if there was a need to have another black guy on the team for the purposes of diversity. The same goes for Breaker (who acted more like Dial Tone than Breaker from what I remember of Breaker). As for "Rex"/Cobra Commander, CC wasn't a former US soldier in any incarnation. By the cartoon he was a snake man (I'm glad they didn't go with that) and by the comic he was a used car salesman (tell me a good writer can't make an angle like that work). His listed speciality was always advanced weapons research (or something like that) so having him be the weird scientist isn't too far off.

Having said all that, I thought the movie was entertaining. It devaited from the source right and left, but it did retain elements of the overall feel of the cartoon so I think enough of it worked. I would consider seeing it again and I do hope they use their set up for a follow on so that Cobra Commander (and Cobra in general) can be done some justice as the primary villains.

Just finished watching The Dark Knight. It was a little too dark for me; don't get me wrong, I enjoyed it a lot but I still like Batman Begins better.

Just watched the 2008 Get Smart Movie.

It was the most funny film I have seen in ages and ages. Loved it.

Then again I did watch the series on the internet a while back (big Mel Brooks fan)
