Mraz Skintas Posted August 19, 2009 Posted August 19, 2009 Armageddon. It was a great movie with great effects for it's time. It had some funny parts, as well as the great Aerosmith song, Don't Wanna Miss A Thing. It did get sad toward the end when everybody started dying. Especially so when Oscar, died, and A.J. Lev, and Bear were thought to be dead. I admit that I cried a little when Harry died It was a great movie and I would highly recommend it. -May the Force be with you. Quote
Lt. Col. Thok Posted August 21, 2009 Posted August 21, 2009 District 9. By far the best alien film (and that includes the movie ALIEN) I have ever seen. Both realistic and intriguing, with action, suspense and true emotion. And great CGI, I mean, that movie is epic because of it. Quote
prateek Posted August 22, 2009 Posted August 22, 2009 I saw Tranformers Revenge of the Fallen today. It was awesome, except one thing. What I don't understand was why Optimus Prime killed Fallen and not Megatron, and why that fight (Optimus Vs Megatron, Fallen, Starscream) was so short Quote

Zapper Brick Posted August 23, 2009 Posted August 23, 2009 Hmmm... the last movie I watched... was probably Star Trek 4. Hilarious. "Hello, we are looking naval base in Alemeda. It's where they keep the nuclear wessels." And I recently watched Star Trek 2. It was OK. The final action scene was good, just didn't have the right "feel". It wasn't anticlimatix, it just seemed all to easy to take down the Reliant. And I hated Kirk's son. Horrible actor, Horrible character. Haven't seen Star Trek 11. Quote
JimBee Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 I just saw Cloverfield, and it was truly amazing. I really enjoyed the filming style (the entire movie was filmed on a hand-held VC by one of the main characters) and it kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time. It was a real thrill, but I wish that Hud would have lived . Pretty much every main character died , so that was a part I didn't like. Overall, one of the most exciting movies I've seen in a while. J.J. Abrams never ceases to amaze me. Quote
prateek Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 Pretty much every main character died That's what happens in pretty much every disasterous/apocaliptic movie. Quote
Batbrick Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 Got into a Pixar mood recently and watched Toy Story and Toy Story 2 in pretty much one sitting. Love them both, still classics, and I really enjoy picking up all the references now. Then I watched up at the cinema, and I thought it was brilliant. The only reason I can't say one of Pixar's best is because only Cars and A Bug's Life were not as good, and even then they were still really good. The first ten minutes of Up were really sad though, as was other parts, though ultimately uplifting, as a cynic like me needs every so often. To the - Squirrel! Quote

I haven't seen Up, nor A Bug's life or Cars. Not WALL-E either, but the reviews were mediocre, maybe I'll see it eventually. Quote

To the Brickmobile! Quote

posades Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 All Pixar movies are classics! I dunno, I didn't care much for Monsters Inc., and I've never seen Ratatouille so I can't comment on that one. Last movie I saw recently was G.I. Joe in the theaters and Robin Hood (the one with the fox ) at home with my little niece. Quote
JimBee Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 That's what happens in pretty much every disasterous/apocaliptic movie. That's the thing. I was hoping for this to be different. I guess I hoped for too much, though, since Abrams also did that in Lost. Quote
DarthSion Posted August 25, 2009 Posted August 25, 2009 My name is Maximus Decimus Meridius. Gladiator in HD the extended cut, god damn i love that movie, one of the best ever made, even more spectacular in HD. Quote
iamded Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 Last movie I saw was District 9, which I enjoyed. We learned a valuable lesson in tolerance and to accept people (and aliens) for their inner worth rather than their outer appearance and then they got a gun that shot lightning and exploded people. Man that thing was neat. ~Peace Quote
Big Cam Posted September 1, 2009 Posted September 1, 2009 Transformers 2 in the theatres At home I just saw Casion Royale and Golden Eye on HBO, I was bored and they were on. Quote
5150 Lego Posted September 1, 2009 Posted September 1, 2009 Haha I don't think anyone would be able to answer that question prateek except Michael Bay, and good luck asking him. Actually the answer was quite obvious.... Maybe then they could make Transformers 3 with Megatron. If Optimus killed him then there probably won't be a TF3 You pretty much answered your own question. Megs was brought back to life once. A second time (even if he is resurrected as Galvatron) would be playing on the same premises as the first. So in short, yes. Megatron lived to make way for a 3rd movie. Back on Topic, i saw "The pest" with John Legwazamo. I never stopped laughing. One of his best next to Spawn. Quote
Emperor Claudius Rome Posted September 2, 2009 Posted September 2, 2009 One of his best next to Spawn. Err... Spawn was the one of the worst Super Hero movies ever. Quote
5150 Lego Posted September 2, 2009 Posted September 2, 2009 (edited) Err... Spawn was the one of the worst Super Hero movies ever. No it wasn't. Edited September 2, 2009 by 5150 Lego Quote
DarthSion Posted September 2, 2009 Posted September 2, 2009 Crank 2, such a dog fight for worst movie on the year, appalling, i hoped it would have been better than the first but it was rubbish. Quote
Corvus Posted September 2, 2009 Posted September 2, 2009 Just rewatched The Dark Knight. Such a great movie. Still, it'll be interesting to see what happens with the next movie... I'm no Batman expert, so I can't think of any particularly good villains. The Riddler, maybe... To the - Squirrel! Quote
simonjedi Posted September 2, 2009 Posted September 2, 2009 The Wickerman remake 5/10 The movie is crap. The only reason that it gets points is that Nick Cage running around in a bear suit and punching women is bloody hilarious. No honestly, just watch it: Quote
