DarthR2-D2 Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 I saw the Adjustment Bureau. It was surprisingly good. I really enjoyed it. It made you think. It was cleverly good. You don't see that in movies anymore. Quote
Batbrick Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 Tangled. Loved every minute of it. I recall the trailers leaving a bad impact on me, but it proved to be one of the best film experiences for me in years. Batbrick Away! Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted April 7, 2011 Posted April 7, 2011 Gran Torino, stayed up late last night when I caught it up on HBO. I really like this movie, this is actually the second time I've seen it, and the unusual story really strikes me a lot. Quote
BrickArtist Posted April 7, 2011 Posted April 7, 2011 I Am Legend, ugh hated it. I liked it until they killed the dog, that was awful. Quote
Sisco Posted April 7, 2011 Posted April 7, 2011 I Am Legend, ugh hated it. I liked it until they killed the dog, that was awful. Aw, really? I kind of liked that movie. It had an interesting story, IMHO. But agreed, it was horrible when they killed off the dog. Quote
Praiter Yed Posted April 7, 2011 Posted April 7, 2011 (edited) I watched Kick Megablocks on dvd last night - didn't expect much from it and ended up loving it! I Am Legend, ugh hated it. I liked it until they killed the dog, that was awful. Well there goes the surprise but seriously, there's an alternative ending to I Am Legend that's miles better than the one they used. EDIT: Great! I'm on an adult site and I'm not even allowed to type 'megablocks' Edited April 7, 2011 by Praiter Yed Quote
Zarkan Posted April 7, 2011 Posted April 7, 2011 Tangled. Loved every minute of it. I recall the trailers leaving a bad impact on me, but it proved to be one of the best film experiences for me in years. Batbrick Away! I've learned not to use Disney's trailers as an indication of their movies' actual quality. The company doesn't seem to know how to make good advertisements - heck, they've even stooped so low as to edit fart and burp noises into scenes in commericals for reissued classics. Quote
Fives Posted April 7, 2011 Posted April 7, 2011 The past three nights I've watched the three Pirates of the Caribbean movies in order. They are just fantastic. (I am getting myself pumped for the release of the POTC sets ) Quote
BrickArtist Posted April 8, 2011 Posted April 8, 2011 I watched Kick Megablocks on dvd last night - didn't expect much from it and ended up loving it! Well there goes the surprise but seriously, there's an alternative ending to I Am Legend that's miles better than the one they used. EDIT: Great! I'm on an adult site and I'm not even allowed to type 'megablocks' Well, it does say spoilers. I'll have to investigate the alternate ending, I think I know what'll happen. Quote
dazarooney Posted April 8, 2011 Posted April 8, 2011 Predators. I thought it was actually ok but nothing on the original with Arnie :) Quote
Mr_Malfoy Posted April 9, 2011 Posted April 9, 2011 (edited) I watched the 1966 Batman movie last night, and the important lesson I learned from it: EVERYTHING should be labeled Edited April 9, 2011 by Mr_Malfoy Quote
Bane Posted April 9, 2011 Posted April 9, 2011 I watched The Dark Knight last night... Again. I just love this film. Christopher Nolan really made a fantastic movie. Quote
SpiderSpaceman Posted April 9, 2011 Posted April 9, 2011 World Invasion: Battle Los Angeles - pretty good movie and a very enjoyable watch, but not the best I've seen. It's like watching War of the Worlds all over again. My aunt was an extra. she was telling us all about 'ok when you see ______ I'm running around, and then I'm a dead body for a while' I still need to see it Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted April 11, 2011 Posted April 11, 2011 Stayed up late again last night to watch The Book of Eli, quite an intriguing post-apocalyptic movie I must say. My aunt was an extra. she was telling us all about 'ok when you see ______ I'm running around, and then I'm a dead body for a while' But there are a lot of 'dead extras' shown in the movie, good luck spotting her there. brickyrob Posted April 11, 2011 Posted April 11, 2011 Watched a film called 'Brick' last night... Stay clear, not very good (IMO) and nothing to do with Lego! Quote
Dino_Bot Posted April 11, 2011 Posted April 11, 2011 Limitless. Great movie. Very entertaining. I could almost relate (I'm a drunkard genius with low self esteem and a horrific procrastination problem) And Source Code. A load of BS. But it was good. Entertaining. Very entertaining. Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted April 17, 2011 Posted April 17, 2011 WATCHMEN on HBO last night. Despite the mixed reviews, I personally find this a very entertaining movie, not your usual cookie-cutter superhero film format with an interesting way of story-telling. Quote
def Posted April 17, 2011 Posted April 17, 2011 Watched a film called 'Brick' last night... Stay clear, not very good (IMO) and nothing to do with Lego! Brilliant flick. It transposes a 40's detective flick onto a modern California high school. Really bizarre fusion, it's magnetizing. It's also part of the reason Joseph Gorden Levitt got his job in Inception and in Batman 3. WATCHMEN on HBO last night. Despite the mixed reviews, I personally find this a very entertaining movie, not your usual cookie-cutter superhero film format with an interesting way of story-telling. Watchmen isn't as watchable as I'd like it to be, but it was fairly loyal to the impeccable book it came from. So it's very good as a whole, but not a great flick. I watched Spider-man 3 today (while I did other stuff) since it was going to be on TV tomorrow night. It's frustratingly bad. There are some good points about it, but it's simply a lumpy movie. It's frustrating, since I love Spider-Man, and I love Sam Raimi, and I know Raimi loves Spider-Man. But the movie is a turd. This is my third or fourth time watching it, and I predict I will watch it another three times before I die. The first hour, with the Goblin fight and the Sandman transformation are genuinely good though. Quote
Keybobs Posted April 17, 2011 Posted April 17, 2011 I watched the 1981 release of Arthur last night, just to get me in the zone for the new one Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted April 24, 2011 Posted April 24, 2011 The cartoon fan in me made me watch Surf's Up in Cable TV. Surprisingly an enjoyable watch, with an interesting story telling technique ala-Blair Witch Project. Quote
Tereglith Posted April 24, 2011 Posted April 24, 2011 I watched The Ten Commandments on and off last night on ABC, as it lasts for four and a half hours with commercials. I don't think it really needs any explanation from me... except to point out that it can be either a running gag or a drinking game that Moses' full name is actually "Moses Moses". Seriously - once you start hearing it you can't stop. Quote
JimBee Posted April 24, 2011 Posted April 24, 2011 I watched the newest Sherlock Holmes for the second time a few days ago. I didn't realize how much I liked until I saw it twice. The film gained relatively positive reviews, but I didn't really enjoy it that much the first time around. Robert Downey Jr. is just a great actor, and plays the part of Holmes excellently. Quote
Captain Becker Posted April 25, 2011 Posted April 25, 2011 Downfall made in 2007, sad sad movie, i seriosly couldnt watch one scene where Hitler did kill his dog (As a dog friend). Otherly the movie was OK. But dont recommend to watch it, it is extremly brutal movie IMO. And Harry Potter 2 also, although not totally, missed it a bit. Captain Becker Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted April 25, 2011 Posted April 25, 2011 I watched The Ten Commandments on and off last night on ABC, Prince of Egypt - a nice significantly-shortened cartoon version of the 3 hour+ 'original' Ten Commandments movie. Quote
AndyC Posted April 25, 2011 Posted April 25, 2011 I watched The Ten Commandments on and off last night on ABC, as it lasts for four and a half hours with commercials. Watched that this morning. I'm not a religious chap, but you really can't fault the sheer epic scale of that film. Quote
