There's a lot of movie talking around these days, mostly about the bad part of movies, so a tread for the good movies.

But not al good movies, just the movies which after seeing them once, you just want to see them again and again. Movies you've takken the habbit of watching them every year. Movies you bought on DVD, when they are 15 years old and you know they air them every two year...

Mine are:

Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade

The Empire Strikes Back

Return of the Jedi (A new Hope is out, the older I get, the less I like it)

Terminator 2 (although I find the first one better)

Total Recall

Starship Troopers (I used to watch this movie every 1st of January, being totaly wasted from going out the day before and waking up at 4 PM, I always rented that movie)

And finaly, almost al the Pixar movies, especialy The Incredibles and cars.

I can also keep watching The Simpsons, but not the movie.

For me, the original Indy flicks and all six Star Wars, though 2 & 3 make me roll my eyes.

-The Big Lebowski

-Raising Arizona

-Army of Darkness

-most Monty Python

-Spiderman 1 & 2

-Tron

-Rushmore

All those, I can't count how many times I watched them, but every one to three years or so they come back up.

Mortal Kombat.

Star Wars.

Avatar.

Zombieland.

There's tons...

Drop Dead Fred

Shaun of the Dead

Silence 'o the Lambs

Up

Hitchhiker's Guide

Black Sheep

Star Wars Saga

Toy Story 1 and 2

Finding Nemo

Cars

Family Guys Star Wars Parodies (If they count as movies)

Hot Fuzz

Shaun of the Dead

The Simpsons Movie

Indiana Jones Trilogy

Im pretty sure there is more but I cant think of them now.

Family Guys Star Wars Parodies (If they count as movies)

yes they do

-Army of Darkness

-most Monty Python

Forgot about those, AoD is a really cool movie.

I can keep watching (and qouting) The Holly Grail.

Avatar.

Zombieland.

To soon to tell about these for me, they are to new. I did see the first dawn of the Dead a lot

I'll go out on a limb and not name any actionmovies, simply because even if I CAN watch them over and over, I don't. The ones I DO, are:

-Love actually

-40 year old virgin (kind of about me, so...)

-Notting Hill

-Lost in Translation

-The Longest Yard (the Adam Sandler version)

-Yes man

Hmmm..interesting.

Let's see...

-The Lord Of The Rings (all three films, especially The Return Of The King)

-Se7en

-Indiana Jones and the temple of doom

-Training Day

-The Truman Show

-Curse of the jade scorpion

-Peter Seller's (and ONLY Peter Seller's  ) Pink Panther movies

-V for Vendetta

-Lock Stock and two smoking Barrels

Jurassic Park. Favourite movie of all time, and I watch it far more than once a year. I can almost quote the entire script. Not the sequels.

Most Disney animations, particularly my favourite three: Lion King, Tarzan and Treasure Planet.

Ghostbusters. I watch it about as often as I watch Jurassic Park. Soon after watching one, I'll usually be in the mood for the other. Sequel's much better than the Jurassic Park ones.

The original Wicker Man, for that fantastic soundtrack.

Thanks for this positive topic, Bobskink. :classic: I was getting sick of all the negative ones too.

Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade

Terminator 2

And finaly, almost al the Pixar movies, especialy The Incredibles

I agree with those, especially that last one. Oddly enough, I have only seen Last Crusade two or three times. And there's no way that T1 is better than T2. I excluded Cars because that's the one PIXAR movie that gets boring for me after a while. UP might end up getting boring too, but it's too soon to tell. Which one is it for you?

Other movies I can watch over and over:

Back To The Future I & II (III isn't as good story-wise, and I've seen it too many times)

Revenge of the Sith (What can I say? I am a sucker for CG effects, General Grievous, S.L. Jackson, and Ewan McGregor (but not in that way))

Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker (Best. Batman movie. Ever.)

Batman: Mask of the Phantasm (Best "Classic" Batman movie)

Analyse This (Figgin hilarious; one of DeNiro's best performances to date)

Pirates of the Carribean: Curse of the Black Pearl

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire / and the Half-Blood Prince

Most Classic Disney cartoons, except Alice, Jungle Book, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Dumbo, Bambi, and any sequels.

Duck Tales: The Movie

Star Wars: Clone Wars Volume 1 & 2 (if it counts)

Edited by Oky Wan Kenobi

I normally enjoy series, including:

Harry Potter

Back to the Future

Indiana Jones

and Star Wars

I can watch In Bruges again and again, though not too close together.

Back to the Future

I've watched the LOTR trilogy till it's made me sick. I've see Return of the King at least nine times, and about the same for the Two Towers.

Star Wars the OT, but also especially EpIII just because it's high octane action without much thought and pure cheese bliss.

Christopher Guest mocumentaries (Waiting for Guffman, Best in Show, A Mighty Wind)

Harry Potter movies

Spider-Man movies

Terminator movies

Certain Pixars: TS 1&2, Monsters Inc, the Incredibles

Corpse Bride

Shrek 1

28 Days Later

300

Snakes on a Plane

Just to name some.

Very interesting thread, Bobskink.

  • Jurassic Park
The Lost World: Jurassic Park II
Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (Please, everyone, resist starting a flame war.)
Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark
    Congo
    The Scream trilogy
    A New Hope
Back to the Future(Only the first.)
Ghost Adventures: The Documentary Film(I'm not sure if this counts.)

Jurassic Park. Favourite movie of all time, and I watch it far more than once a year. I can almost quote the entire script. Not the sequels.

You have won all my respect. I can almost quote the entire script of The Lost World.

That's easy.

The Matrix (duh)

The Matrix Reloaded (see above)

Star Wars movies (OT not so much, though, they seem a little longer than the PT).

Pirates of the Caribbean (all)

Lord of the Rings (all)

The Dark Knight

Indiana Jones (all)

James Bond (all)

The Mummy

The Mummy Returns

The reason for their rewatch value? I just think it's because they're instant classic action flicks, which I can never get tired of. All of the movies listed above make up the majority of my DVD collection, and I tend cycle through them every year.

Any Star Wars movies

Any Pixar movies

Christian Bale Batman movies

Spiderman Trilogy

Transformers 1 and RotF

I have yet to watch any Indy movies or Avatar, so when I do, they might make it to the list.

...

Back to the Future(Only the first.)

...

How could I forget those. I can watch them over and over again. The first two are the best, but when you see the end of Part 2, you just got to know how it ends, even though you know perfectly how it end.

The first Mummy is cool aswell, especially teh Egyptian onliners.

...

Batman: Mask of the Phantasm (Best "Classic" Batman movie)

...

Duck Tales: The Movie

...

Is that the Batman with the Shark repelent Batspray. If it is, it's hilarious, but as a kid I was a huge fan.

I really like the Ducktales...

Edited by Bobskink

Yes Man

Tenacious D and the Pick of Destiny

Star Wars movies

and

I am Legend.

Great movies, especially since I see them tons of times in a year :classic:

Avatar

Star Wars Saga

Iron Man

Christopher Nolan Batman films

Transformers films

Indiana Jones films

Terminator series

Pixar Films

District 9

Star Trek

Watchmen

The Bourne Films

and many more

Edited by Brickus

I like the Back to the Future films, all of them, but the first is the most watchable. Almost 2015 though, amazing how non-ridiculous the predictions in II seemed at the time.

I'm really shocked at the number of people putting in films from the last five years. It's quite possible you'll be able to watch them again and again 10 years from now, but you never know. Especially for the young'uns here. Some of those movies you love now? You'll hate them later. Some you'll still love.

I could watch the first Burton Batman a lot in the early 90's, but it's seeming a bit campy now.

Robocop I've seen a number of times as a kid, and as an adult, and it works even better now, like Starship Troopers, another very mature Hollywood action movie by the same director.

It takes a few years to know what you can really watch over and over again.

Here's mine

-------------------

UHF (The weird al movie) All the jokes are just so funny they never get old!

Pee-wee's big adventure-Just so ridiculous I laugh every time!

The nightmare before christmas-It's not very long and it's beautifully animated.

Batman, batman returns, batman forever-They're all so much bettter than the other batman movies made.

Go Sukashi!-Or any movie by Doug TenNapel.

Any of the Sockbaby movies.-Another TenNapel film but it just has so much ridiculous random action that it's actually better every time! :cry_happy:

Any Pixar movies-It's obvious.

Amelie

Fight Club

I am Legend

Garden State

Spirited Away

Toy Story 1 & 2

Madagascar 1 & 2

The Bourne Movies

Napoleon Dynamite

The Brothers Grimm

Howl's Moving Castle

Wallace and Gromit (all)

The Bourne Movies

Ah, yes! Thank you for reminding me. Isn't there a fourth movie coming out?

Anyway, you can all add those movies to my list...

To continue the list I should include all pixar movies to it. They are all instant classics

I can watch the following near endlessly:

Ghostbusters-Part 1.

G.I.Joe the Movie-The animated one from the 80s.

Transformers the Movie-Also the animated one from the 80s.

Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust-This one is considerably better than the original in terms of characters, plot, and animation.

Aliens-I like the others, but I view this one as the best and I can watch it at any time.

Airplane 1 and 2-These movies are hilarious and never get old for me.

Big Trouble in Little China-This is quite possibly my favorite movie.

Conan The Barbarian-All around awesome. Far better than part 2.

Dawn of the Dead-Either one. I like them both for different reasons and I think they are both awesome.

Die Hard 1, 3-The others are watchable but these two are the best of the lot.

Flash Gordon-This movie is packed with cheese with a soundtrack by Queen.

Indiana Jones-1-3 for sure. 4 is okay but I have to give it some time.

Pulp Fiction, Resevoir Dogs, Kill Bill -Tarantino is good in general as far as I am concerned.

Lord of the Rings-I could probably watch these every day.

Star Wars-I'll watch any of them but 3, 5, and 6 are my favorites.

Predator 1 and 2-I liked both of these.

Shaun of the Dead-Not only a very funny movie but also a pretty good zombie movie.

Terminator 1 and 2-I like all 4 of them, but the first 2 are the best.

Vampires, The Thing, Halloween -John Carpenter is awesome in general, but aside from Big Trouble in Little China which was worth mentioning on it's own these are my favorites from his films.

Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker (Unrated)-The Batman Beyond timeline meets pinnacle of old Batman's rogues gallery.

Gundam:Char's Counterattack-The finale of the main Universal Century plotline that proves absolutely no characters are safe in this series. A fitting end.
