Zorbas Posted February 28, 2010 Posted February 28, 2010 Maybe 'The Brickster' could start a poll on service stations - like which one is judged as the best eh ? Excellent idea lightningtiger! we sure have many now to choose from. Quote
lightningtiger Posted February 28, 2010 Author Posted February 28, 2010 Yes, you are right 'Zorbas' - we have had Esso's, Shell's, Exxon's and of course Octan's ! I hope 'The brickster' reads this. I'm a conformist! everyone ! Quote
lightningtiger Posted March 1, 2010 Author Posted March 1, 2010 You know I looked closely at my latest, the walls were not tall enough, ...........so I fixed it ! To me the building now fits better with the rest of my smaller buildings and with the driveway components too ! Even the interior can be seen better now, wiper blades or a headlight blub anyone ? Snack bar comming real soon ! Comments welcome and I'm a conformist! everyone ! Quote
wooootles Posted March 2, 2010 Posted March 2, 2010 It's nice, the colors match BP's very well, and the interior is rather cool. That said... I can only support the local company, Octan! [/roleplay] Quote
lightningtiger Posted March 2, 2010 Author Posted March 2, 2010 Thanks 'wooootles' for your kind reply , yep the colours do match, it just fell into place real easy and wait for when I start on the big truck stop/roadhouse ! I'm a conformist! everyone ! Quote
lightningtiger Posted March 9, 2010 Author Posted March 9, 2010 Just a quick little update, I thought some warning signs were required here so....... Can you spot them, yes one by the door saying please remove your bike helmet or we'll call the cops, then the other is on the main pillar with the pumps built in to it. That warns you about no cellphones, no kiddies using the pump, etc.,. You might be able to see more in this close up picture. What do you think ? Comments and sugestions are always welcome........keepon bricking everyone ! Quote
FinalFeature Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 (edited) The stickers on the station makes it look much more nicer lightningtiger. Two thumbs up! Edited March 9, 2010 by LegoGalactus Quote
gotoAndLego Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 (edited) I do feel having that 4x8 base jutting into the lane looks off. I think it would look better using 2x wide tiles and studded plates. I like the blue windshield cleaner holder, but don't forget about a trashcan. There would also be some kind of barrier on each side to stop cars from crashing into the pump. Thanks for the reply 'gotoAndLego', the trashcan is behind the air/water dispenser so the coffee stand workers can use it to, oh yeah there is a green one by the little picnic setting too. Just check earlier pictures of both this servo and the coffee stand to see all the details (minus warning signs of course). I'll check some older BP's today and tomorrow to check on crash barriers, now the 4x8 plate - it's there for the drivers safety and so that on the left side of the pumps no one rips off the windscreen wash bucket off it's mounting as it overhangs. Thank again anyway for your comments and I'm a conformist! ! Edited March 10, 2010 by lightningtiger Quote
lightningtiger Posted March 10, 2010 Author Posted March 10, 2010 I actually took 'gotoAndLego's advice....... What do you think ? Is it better with a 6x2 plate with 2x1 handles are barriers ? As you can see the trash can or rubbish bin which ever country you come from call it, is right next to the air/water dispenser. Comments very welcome and I'm a conformist! everyone ! Quote
lightningtiger Posted March 11, 2010 Author Posted March 11, 2010 I think it's better now!Greetings Thank you 'The Player No1' - glad you like it. I'm a conformist! ! Quote

lightningtiger Posted June 9, 2010 Author Posted June 9, 2010 (edited) This is the final redesign of this MOC. Any one for Street's Ice Cream (Good Humour - to those in the US I think) ? Remember oil's ain't oils ! Need some GTX top-up oil or dot 4 brake fluid ! A reverse angle shot of the first new image. Comments welcome and I'm a conformist! ! Edit - relinked to MOCpages as good old Brickshelf is down. Edited June 9, 2010 by lightningtiger Quote
lightningtiger Posted June 9, 2010 Author Posted June 9, 2010 Thanks for the kind comment 'mautara' - by the way while I was applying new stickers to this one - I stickered the public toilet block and coffee stand too ! Posting more pictures tomorrow and as always........I'm a conformist! everyone ! Quote
BrickClick Posted June 9, 2010 Posted June 9, 2010 Looks great! I like the fact that you tiled it and put in a little bit of greenery! Overall nice job Lightning Tiger and... I'm a conformist!! Quote
lightningtiger Posted June 9, 2010 Author Posted June 9, 2010 Thanks 'BrickClick' for your kind words, glad you liked it. I'll be doing more work on the town today I hope. I'm a conformist! ! Quote
lightningtiger Posted June 10, 2010 Author Posted June 10, 2010 Thanks for comment 'Tom Bricks' - at least I have no leaks here ! Since the TRU set popped up this morning - I have decided to leave the grocery store where I was going to build it too, and build the toy shop as a Toyworld (same shape of the TRU) plus the Sportspower sporting goods store redesign along side of it. I'm a conformist! ! Quote
prateek Posted June 10, 2010 Posted June 10, 2010 Really cool station IMO, but you should change this to another brand to protest BP's douchebagginess Quote
lightningtiger Posted June 10, 2010 Author Posted June 10, 2010 Thanks 'Prateek' for your comments - well here in Oz, we don't have many brands left - Coles which is Shell, Woolworths which is Caltex, now Mobil will be 7-11 and On-The-Run stores. So BP is the only one left on it's own. I'll think BP is here to stay - still no leaks ! I'm a conformist! ! Quote
-zenn Posted June 10, 2010 Posted June 10, 2010 Good job man! I like the little details in it. I only miss some spare tires. You got my gears going, I think I'm gonna build me a gasstation as well, only in a 50's style. Quote

Thanks '-zenn' for your kind comments , spare tyres eh, but I have a Bridgestone place for burning tyres, oops sorry.... stacking tyres ! Hopefully I'll be working on the street scape again today, fingers crossed. I'm a conformist! ! Quote
