So... shall we move on now and look for those stones and such?

Yes dear, onwards to more exciting encounters with the Brethren of Doom. Let us purge this temple of the foul spawn that desecrates its holy ground! With the power of the stones and my manly sword wielding, we shall destroy this evil cult of demon worshipers!

What, you're not my wife? Oh, sorry, she's been so neglecting of me recently I must have just thought... :cry_sad:

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAH! *huh*

Oh, sorry, it was nothing. :hmpf_bad:

*Are you sure you have nothing you want to share with the group?*

*The group decides to explore the East Library.*

chapter_05_11.jpg

*The room is very similar to the West Library. Again there is no light, but the bright light of the ever-changing moon floods in through a massive break in the exterior wall.*

chapter_05_12.jpg

*Again a figure occupies the alcove on the left wall. The panels from the other library are also mirrored here.*

chapter_05_13.jpg

*The center statue is an old man holding a spear. The other mosaic panel is not present.*

chapter_05_14.jpg

*The alcove on the right wall also contains a figure.*

Hm, stones folks. What most of you need to grow. However, let's discuss one object that seems to fit that idea well.

*Jack Baxter opens the mouth of the statue revealing a dark gem. He begins to feels around the mouth and pull the teeth. Nothing happens.*

Did we ever put that gem to use? Where is it currently? That there gem seems to be one of the damn best clue's we've gotten so far. Found in the mouth of the moving skelator, gotta mean something, right?

*Johnson holds the gem up to the light of the moon. It is such a deep green it barely filters the light of the bright moon. The gem seems to gaze back. For an inanimate object, Johnson remarks that it has a very intense energy to it. It almost looks as if something is shifting inside...almost...*

Something's inside that stone, perhaps something important, and considering the amount of dead people floatin' 'round, why the hell shouldn't our protecters be in a stone? Also, it mentions weapons destroying an evil from hell. So I'm thinking with one of the three sacrifices out of the way we should probably go around lookin' for those weapon thingies.

Oh, and one final and lovely note, Willoughby died with the gem in his pocket. So, I'd like to look around for the gem around his body.

*Actually, after Johnson examined it, Stanton insisted on carrying it...*

I want to ride my bicycle, I want to...

So, who's bicycle is that, I wonder? It's black, so therefore it must belong to a cultist. Logical deduction there, you see. :sweet:

Diesel walks over to the bicycle and inspects it for any oddities such as a name or a defining feature. He'll also assess the overall condition of it (new or old, scratched, covered in mud etc) and inspect the chain and wheels to try and discern if it has been ridden recently, as well as discover anything else his expertise in biking might be able to tell him.

I'm a delivery messenger, so I use bikes every day. Of all the people here, I should be able to find something out about this bike.

*The bike seems normal enough. It is definitely a vintage style, but Diesel's expert knowledge of bikes doubts the authenticity of the vintageness. It is more likely a recent style made to look retro. It's hard to tell how long the bike has been there since it is covered in the same layer of dust that seems to cover everything in the temple. The chain is a bit rusty although it seems to be in good shape. There is still oil on the chain. There are no other oddities or defining features. It seems to be in excellent working condition.*

My girlfriend has been the same way. Let's talk later.

*Are you sure you have nothing you want to share with the group?*

Can't think of a thing...

I want to run back and forth between the two rooms with timestamps to prove when they are shown! Oh, just forget it.

I'd like to examine the spear, move it around, see if the arm controls a pulley, etc.

Yeah, something evil. I really do find it amusing that you always gravitate towards the things cultists would want. To be honest, I'd probably shoot you in the head if the voice in the sky would allow it. What do you say, voice?

*Actually, after Johnson examined it, Stanton insisted on carrying it...*

Well, good thing he's dead, huh? :hmpf_bad:

*What altars?*

Oh. Um. The benches. Tables. Stone slab things on the ground there. Please.

Tables?

They look like tables.

chapter_05_11.jpg

They dark grey things on either side of the center of that picture.

To be more specific, I'd like to look under them, inside them if I can, all over the exterior... Basically, I am all about those grey things.

Posted

Oh, look at that! It sure is helpful being tall. You get great views on things.

I would like to look under both the benches, both in the floor space under them, and on the bottom of the benches themselves. Hopefully there's be no gum stuck under there...

I'd also like to check in the space under what I assume is the tables for resting your books on while you read. This is a library after all.

Once I've done that, I'd like to tap on the bley 2x3 slope piece of the table on the left. See if it sounds hollow, or anything like that. I'd also like to give it a shake, see if it can be lifted or pushed off.

Also, where's Tony Peck? Has anyone seen him around?

Oooh, I haven't seen him since page 6!:cry_sad: Ooh, now I'm worried. Tony? Where are you dear?

Has any one seen my wife for that matter? :look:

You don't think...

:look:

...that your wife and my Tony went off together, do you?! Oh, Tony, if I find out you're up to no good...

*gasp* I certainly hope not! My wife would never do anything of that sort, we love each other far too much.

Well, that bike was interesting. From the dust, it may well date back to the last tour, doesn't really look like it has been used recently. Perhaps the cultists left it here last time as an escape vehicle for this time? Sounds plausible to me.

Diesel now walks over the the large urn in the centre of the room and peers into it. He then feels around the edges and generally looks for anything odd, before seeing if it can be turned or moved.

Hey, could some masculine figure come help me with this if it looks like it can be moved? Could someone come help me even if it doesn't look like it can be moved?

I think we managed it quite nicely last time, let's just do that again!

Is anyone noticing a pattern there? Jack, Willoughby and Stanton are the three people who touched the dark gem and are the three people who have perished. Maybe we should stick to looking for the pure bright shiny gems. I think this dark gem may be more cursed than the Hope Diamond :sceptic:

*Opens all the dark tan compartments and takes out any scraps of parchment.*

*Picks wolfs head off the floor and puts it onto the handlebars of the bicycle* Now it's a Demon Bike!

You don't seem to be all that concerned with where your wife is.

Well forgive me for thinking that the statment saying the stones can protect us would make people want stones. I'm still interested in that gem, and very tthankful that the voice that you speak of is stopping you from doing incredibly stupid things. :hmpf_bad: Throwing around accusations becuase of my thoughts on a clue.

chapter_05_16.jpg

I would like to see if the oddly colored stone, the more blue one on the right table, can be moved or pushed. It's possible the temple builders ran out of those same colors for stones, but it may also mean that it is less covered by dust or that it works some kind of lever.

Oops, I meant left table... from where we are at least, well, hopefully the voice knows what I mean.

*Nothing is hidden on the bottom of or underneath the benches.*

I'd also like to check in the space under what I assume is the tables for resting your books on while you read. This is a library after all.

*The space under the desks is also empty.*

Once I've done that, I'd like to tap on the bley 2x3 slope piece of the table on the left. See if it sounds hollow, or anything like that. I'd also like to give it a shake, see if it can be lifted or pushed off.

*It looks like the off-colored slope can be pushed.*

I think we managed it quite nicely last time, let's just do that again!

*Sheldon and Diesel removed the basin from the base of the fountain. There is a chamber underneath where you can hide stuff. There is nothing in it currently.*

*Opens all the dark tan compartments and takes out any scraps of parchment.*

*An entire block of compartments, the ones one the left wall to the right of the statue will not open. The other contains a lot of dust and fragment parchments. The records stored there have long since succumbed to the elements.*

*Picks wolfs head off the floor and puts it onto the handlebars of the bicycle* Now it's a Demon Bike!

*Fred creates a demon bicycle.*

*Ever-observant Zack checks the same stone that has already been checked to learn that it looks like it can be pushed which Ingrid had discovered just moments before... :hmpf:*

Ok. So the Dark Gem is probably cursed. :sceptic:

I agree! the letter said stones, not gems, so probably the demonic influence is within the gem!

I vote we drop the gem into the compartment beneath the vase! Then, we should work on rafts to escape!
