Jipay Posted October 30, 2004 Posted October 30, 2004 Anyway, so many city sets ! That's just great (if it's true). I'm kinda amazed that there's no pirate set listed here >:(
David85 Posted October 31, 2004 Posted October 31, 2004 Well this list isn't EVERY Lego set, just some, there will be a lot more and KK2 sets have to come out then too.
ApophisV Posted October 31, 2004 Posted October 31, 2004 This is very similar to a question that's going through my head (I hope this is a normal expression... :D): Is this the list for ALL 2005 sets or is it just for the first half of 2005 or what is it exactly?!? Finally we saw TLC releasing sets at very different times... That's unlike the times I were young (~6 - 10 years ago) when there were released the new sets every half year... (At least this is what I can remember: "new catalogue - new sets!!!")
Athos Posted October 31, 2004 Posted October 31, 2004 5960 palace kl. of the sea virgin ||palace of the little sea virgin5961 the Schneekgin (???) || the snow queen 5962 the magic lighter 5963 the princess on the pea 5964 Delinchen (???) || Daeumelinchen --> tiny girl (as big as a thumb (=german "Daumen") from a tale of Hans Christian Andersen I am quite intrigued by these. I hope they are system sized and not belville. They aren't belville numbers are they? Sounds like they would make great minifigs. Here's my guess as to what their English equivalents are: 5960: Little Mermaid 5961: Snow White? (Maybe a stretch) 5962: Aladin's Magic Lamp (either that or someone's magic zippo) 5963: good enough for me 5964: Thumbellina Here's hoping for system, Steve
ApophisV Posted October 31, 2004 Posted October 31, 2004 Yes, those would be very interesting System sets, but I don't think fairytales would be something the main consumers of System scaled sets would like to buy.... :/ Parts coming with those sets (mermaids, crowns, and such things) are mainly pleasures for a) MOC builders or b) for girls... And because we already got the Belville and the Clikit lines for the second group and because the first group isn't big enough (seen from a global point of view...) I really don't think they will make something like fairytale System sets.... :( (And hey! Welcome at Eurobricks, Athos!!! :D)
DoubleT Posted October 31, 2004 Posted October 31, 2004 5960: Little Mermaid5961: Snow White? (Maybe a stretch) 5962: Aladin's Magic Lamp (either that or someone's magic zippo) 5963: good enough for me 5964: Thumbellina Well the fairytale Writer Hans Christian Andersen, would be 200 years in 2005. And here in Denmark there wil be BIG televisionshows with huge stars, it will be broadcast all over the world. Its an really big deal here in Denmark, so there will also be other events, books etc. So it would not be a suprise to me if Lego (being a Danish Company), makes HC Andersen sets.
Jipay Posted October 31, 2004 Posted October 31, 2004 Oh yeah, I haven't thought about this ! This would make sense, you're right ! PS : could you find someone in the lego compagny that have infos about the lost of the brick licence and what they've done to face this problem ? Because i must writte something for school about this :'(
David85 Posted October 31, 2004 Posted October 31, 2004 Those are Belville sets, belville starts with the number 59-- or 58-- so no fairy tales for System.
jonfett Posted October 31, 2004 Posted October 31, 2004 Yeah, they sound like belville. The sets will just be full of trans pink and purple parts so I'm glad its not for system. But.. we could do with some more female minifig parts, as there are not many women out in the Lego world. Jon.
ApophisV Posted October 31, 2004 Posted October 31, 2004 maybe the "tools" that come with those sets are useful, too....
jonfett Posted October 31, 2004 Posted October 31, 2004 maybe the "tools" that come with those sets are useful, too.... 5960: Little Mermaid ~ maybe we will get some more crabs or shells! 5961: Snow White? ~ erm.. some little stumpie legs with the dwarves, and of course a broom! 5962: Aladin's Magic Lamp ~ a lamp! 5963: Princess and the Pea ~ a bed? or a pea 5964: Thumbellina ~ depends if this is in minfig scale, meaning she will be the size of a lego hand! But maybe we will get some giant leaf or something. So, maybe these sets will have good accesories! ;) Jon.
Athos Posted November 1, 2004 Posted November 1, 2004 Well lets at least hope there are some good elements that can be used in system scale. Though I've still got my proverbial fingers crossed for system sets. I'm hoping for a good merfolk piece myself. Steve

I'm going to get the Belville cat thing because I don't know where I put my Lego Cats.
Athos Posted November 1, 2004 Posted November 1, 2004 I'm still not sure those numbers are Belville numbers. The older Adventurer sets were primarily in the 59xx range, while Belville seems confined, for the most part, to the 58xx range. Though of course, Belville has expanded into the 59xx range and Adventurers have moved to the 74xx range recently. Thus I am probably wrong. Steve
ApophisV Posted November 1, 2004 Posted November 1, 2004 LOL, I'm pretty sure the TLC management gives away the numbers to sets after a long evening in a danish pub.... :D
David85 Posted November 2, 2004 Posted November 2, 2004 I doubt we will have "Snow White" as an Adventure set.

moom Posted November 5, 2004 Posted November 5, 2004 According to me and a guy screennamed LEgON, the correct translation for the title of set #5961 is The Snow Queen, and the correct translation for the title of set #5962 is The Tinder-Box. In other words, it are not the stories that saw a full-feature length interpretation by Disney. We've found these titles with the help of a list of fairy tales and stories by Hans Christian Andersen. With friendly greetings, M. Moolhuysen.
ApophisV Posted November 5, 2004 Posted November 5, 2004 Hi moom, welcome here!!! :) So it is sure, that we get a complete Hans Christian Andersen theme?? maybe this means it IS system!!! :D (otherwise it would be a mixture between a Lego theme (Belville) and a licensed theme... or am I wrong with his??)
moom Posted November 5, 2004 Posted November 5, 2004 Well...one year ago, who would have guessed we would see a DUPLO Castle? Who would have guessed a new Shop at Home set, the BNSF-locomotive, would see the first introduction of a new element and a new colour? Who would have guessed you could sleep under a bedcover with a huge print of the Clikits girls on it....uhum, I'm sorry, mr. Lucas, am I falling out of character here? :) It can go in all sorts of different directions, we'll just have to wait and see. With friendly greetings, M. Moolhuysen.
