mahjqa Posted November 18, 2004 Posted November 18, 2004 Wow... :oo I'm thinking about putting this post into the review section.... ;) But welcome here, mahjqa! You mentioned some evry interesting things, especially those 8 round chrome 1x1 dishes, I'd never noticed them myself!!! I guess you are very into Lego cars / Racers? (I love this sweet red car!!! *wub*) Thanks for the kind words! I posted the small car here for your convenience. Hope you'll build one of your own, or come up with another 5-wide car... I dare you ;) Yes, I'm a racers freak. Lego is a toy, and I find that racing my toys around adds a lot of fun to merely building static models. I always try to add some playability to the models I build. And yes, I'm a sucker for chrome :D As for putting the post in the review section... the sets aren't even officially out yet, and most of that is pure speculation :D Although, if you manage to get them for me or support some funding when the sets DO come out, I wouldn't mind reviewing them. :-D *cough*smilie overdose*cough*
David85 Posted November 18, 2004 Posted November 18, 2004 It can't be a review, he doesn't have the set. It's a preview. :P
ApophisV Posted November 18, 2004 Posted November 18, 2004 *cough*smilie overdose*cough* He he, smilies are very often used here... ;) (Especially in my posts... :D) Hope you'll build one of your own, or come up with another 5-wide car... Hm, I like more to build up my Mini Air Cars ;) I'm not good at building cars and such stuff.... :$ I'll better stay in my Sci-Fi and Fantasy range... ;)
mahjqa Posted November 18, 2004 Posted November 18, 2004 It can't be a review, he doesn't have the set. I wonder why you consider me a 'he' without knowing who I am. ;) Granted, being on a Lego board and talking about cars kind of brings down the odds of me being female, but still. :P (Also; I hope you folks appreciate my putting in all the hyperlinks. Took a bit of work, but it makes what I'm talking about a lot clearer, I hope)
ApophisV Posted November 18, 2004 Posted November 18, 2004 I wonder why you consider me a 'he' without knowing who I am. ;) Its the same reason, why people are very surprised if I tell them that there are really some girls (10-20%) studying mechanical engineering with me.... :P Prejudices, everywhere... ;)
Jipay Posted November 18, 2004 Posted November 18, 2004 I wonder why you consider me a 'he' without knowing who I am. ;) It's written on your website |-D
David85 Posted November 18, 2004 Posted November 18, 2004 As far as I know there are no females here, so you are a guy. :)
sam89 Posted November 18, 2004 Author Posted November 18, 2004 I'm pretty sure Precious Jazz is a female :)
Jipay Posted November 19, 2004 Posted November 19, 2004 As far as I know there are no females here, so you are a guy. :) preciouss jazz is a female as cl
Orlego Posted November 19, 2004 Posted November 19, 2004 Welcome mahjqa and thanks for great preview, review, opinion, observation, or whatever you want to call it (I will just call it a great post). Very nice 5-wide vehicles. I personally love the VW bus.
sam89 Posted November 19, 2004 Author Posted November 19, 2004 Here's a list of the 2005 set prices up to May: Designer: 4883 25,99
David85 Posted November 19, 2004 Posted November 19, 2004 So what did Lego buy the Star Wars just to make 100s of pointless Tie sets? Whats the point of posting the prices when they are in... I don't know what they are in. :)
sam89 Posted November 19, 2004 Author Posted November 19, 2004 The prices are in Euros. And since most people here are from Europe, there's plenty of point in posting them. I'll try and figure out what the price would be in dollars based on Lego's usual conversion rates.

David85 Posted November 19, 2004 Posted November 19, 2004 Anyways here are my guesses for cost in America. *Ducks because it will be a lot lower than in Europe* 4881 robots set $10 4882 flyers set || planes $10 4883 vehicle set $20 7242 a car that cleans the street About $6 7243 building sites set I'm thinking $30, but maybe as much as $50 7246 mini excavators $4 of course, maybe $5 if Lego really wants to push it 7248 crawler excavators $15 to $20 range 7249 mobile construction crane I'm guessing $50 just because Lego never really does a $40 set, and $60 seems high.
Vader Posted November 19, 2004 Posted November 19, 2004 Clone turbo tank you say???? would be nice but yet again the clones only come in a large set. :(
jonfett Posted November 19, 2004 Posted November 19, 2004 But hopefully that means we will get more.. like maybe 8! :) Or am I too hopeful?? Jon.
Vader Posted November 19, 2004 Posted November 19, 2004 Hate to say it but yes i think that to much to hope for. I for one cant wait to see pics of these upcoming sets.
David85 Posted November 20, 2004 Posted November 20, 2004 I'm getting some clone troopers for X-Mas, my mom found an AT-TE, I think, for $30 at Walmart. :D
Jipay Posted November 20, 2004 Posted November 20, 2004 115 euros was the price of the troppe flying stuff from ep II. And there was only 4 clonies inside. I think it would probably contain enemies. that would make sense ! ;)
jonfett Posted November 20, 2004 Posted November 20, 2004 Maybe we will get a set of figures like we did in the gunship. There was 4 clones, 1 jedi, 2 super battle droids and a destroyer droid. It would be great if we got lots of mini-figs like this. Jon.
Vader Posted November 20, 2004 Posted November 20, 2004 Thats possible jon, i just hope if we do get a jedi that its mace windu.
sam89 Posted November 20, 2004 Author Posted November 20, 2004 I think maybe the set contain Ki-Adi-Mundi (the pointy headed Jedi) because he drives one in the film apparently. So maybe we'll get Ki-Adi-Mundi, Mace Windu and a couple of battle droids and 4 clones? That's 8 figures, just like the Republic Gunship.
DoubleT Posted November 20, 2004 Posted November 20, 2004 ********Spoiler********* Ki-Adi-Mundi died in the Clone Wars Cartoon, and is a "ghost" in the movie, like Obiwan is in the old trilogy. But maybe we get an transperent Ki-Adi-Mundi. ********Spoiler over********
