Lord Embo Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 You know you could just put all your ideas in one post? I hadn't thought of the Deathly Hallows ideas at the exact same moment as my Diagon Alley ideas. Besides, I didn't want other sets to get mixed in with Diagon Alley because people would possibly end up thinking that the other ideas are to do with Diagon Alley, even though they weren't. Vindice Posted November 23, 2010 Posted November 23, 2010 I do like some of these ideas especially the Snape's memory set. unfortunately i can't see most of them happening. You've got to try and think like a kid and then you might have an idea of TLG's thought process. What I think we might see will be:- Re-release of Durmstrang ship (although could the PotC line push this back?? too many ships?) I don't believe a beaux batons carriage is likely as boyswon't buy it. A maze challenge set would be interesting but doubtful. I think shell cottage is where you'll get Fleur. A re-release of Sirius Black's escape. Room of requirement with members of the D.A Chamber of secrets re-release from the Deathly Hallows I think we could see:- Ministry play-set, so much potential for this one! Shell cottage complete with dobby with knife sticking out of him (only kidding!!) Death eater chase, the scene from the start with a couple of death eaters, harry, hagrid and bike. From the second film there could be a lot of sets but not until next winter i don't think and then HP will be no more and we'll all be MOC'ing our brains out! Quote
commanderneyo Posted November 23, 2010 Posted November 23, 2010 Some ideas of mine; one from each film: Deathly Hallows Part 1 Snatcher Attack Minifigs(8): Dean Thomas(casual, tattered clothes torso), Harry Potter(casual), Ron Weasley(casual), Hermione Granger(casual), Fenrir Greyback and 3 Snatchers. Lord Embo That sounds a lot like my idea Anyway the set can't come with Dean Thomas as he was cut out of the film Quote
Lord Embo Posted November 23, 2010 Posted November 23, 2010 Anyway the set can't come with Dean Thomas as he was cut out of the film Oh. I didn't know that; I haven't seen the film yet. Lord Embo Quote
Mr Man Posted November 23, 2010 Posted November 23, 2010 Hmm I think a remake of all the yellow HP sets would be good like the night bus and the sorting hat. Quote
Lord Embo Posted November 23, 2010 Posted November 23, 2010 Hmm I think a remake of all the yellow HP sets would be good like the knight bus and the sorting hat. The knight bus wasn't a yellow set but remakes of the yellow sets would be nice. Hope TLG do re-release them. Lord Embo Quote
Matn Posted November 23, 2010 Posted November 23, 2010 These are all great ideas guys, not only for sets but also for our own creations. We can keep updating our personal lists with sets we really want to see and we can hope all we want... But let's be realistic, I'm pretty sure we won't see new sets, let alone a set of the Shell. So why not pull out those bricks, or order the parts you need, and start building these ideas out. We can add new ideas for sets to this topic everyday, but why not make them true? I mean, the lists are really great and provide much inspiration, so why not use it to make our own LEGO Harry Potter related creations? And I'd love to see some more LEGO Harry Potter stuff, as I thought there would be with the release of the fantastic new film. Quote
Vindice Posted November 24, 2010 Posted November 24, 2010 Could'nt have put it better Matn, I've just started my first moc. It's just the great hall at the moment but I'll be starting the astronomy tower this weekend. We can create much better stuff than will ever be released anyway as we have no constraints (other than lack of money!) on us. I'd personally love to see more great harry potter mocs. Some that i've seen are great but it seems like a small minority of people doing them. May be I'm wrong. Quote
Lord Embo Posted November 24, 2010 Posted November 24, 2010 (edited) But let's be realistic, I'm pretty sure we won't see new sets If we aren't going to see any new HP sets after Diagon Alley, then I ask what was the point of reviving the Lego Harry Potter theme and discontinuing it again after about 3 months? Before anyone asks, I do still like Lego Harry Potter; I was just stating a point that makes perfect sense. I am ecstatic about the revival of Lego Harry Potter and really want to see more sets after Diagon Alley. Matn, thanks for bringing a downer upon all us Lego Harry Potter fans here on EB.(note: this is thanks in the bad way) Lord Embo Edited November 25, 2010 by Lord Embo Quote

It's a waste of time. If this is the case, they should've just left it as it was. Are you kidding me? You, who seem so enthusiastic about Harry Potter with all of the millions of set ideas you've posted, and you'd rather they didn't make any awesome new sets at all if they were only going to make seven total? Oh sure, I'd rather not get beautiful new redesigned figures and some wonderful new playsets like the Burrow if LEGO is going to only tease me with seven sets. Please, LEGO, if you're planning on making some wonderful sets for a theme that will be very short-lived (like PoP), just don't bother. I'd much rather have nothing at all than a one wave-theme, thank you very much. Quote
erik530195 Posted November 25, 2010 Posted November 25, 2010 I think there should be a department of mysteries set with crystal balls and more. With a new figure like tonks. Quote

That wasn't even what I meant. I was merely speaking logic; if something in Lego(all eyes turn to Prince of Persia) only lasts about 6 months, they might as well not even bother! I'd rather have new Harry Potter sets over Pirates of the Carribean, especially if the heads are going to be similar to Lego Toy Story in the PotC theme, except the heads are on their own but the hair and hats are connected. Lord Embo Who the heck said the PotC heads would be the same as in the Toy Story theme? And personally, I loved the Prince of Persia theme; and it was really well designed for a theme that TLG obviously knew was only going to last 1 year. As for the HP sets, even if they give us one more wave, that will be it. As the movies are ending for good. Although I do hope they give us a Room of Requirements set, the version of the room being 'The Room of Hidden Things'. Quote
Vindice Posted November 25, 2010 Posted November 25, 2010 I seriously doubt there will not be anymore new sets. They've had the game and 2 films to peak everyones interest. I think we just need to be patient and until we hear more news I think we should all just get MOC'ing!! After all you can't beat making your own stuff really can you?? I do think we'll get a Ministry playset with a dragon and may be the lestrange vault either in the 2nd or 3rd quarter of this year. Let's all be positive. On a positive note, it's very hard in the UK at the moment to get hold of Hogwarts castle! there are many shops that have sold out so i think sales are good. Fortunately I have mine and as much as i'd love some more I'm more than happy to see this development. It can only be a good thing for the consumer in the long run. Matn, thanks for bringing a downer upon all us Lego Harry Potter fans here on EB.(note: this is thanks in the bad way) Lord Embo What... Er. I'm sorry? I'm sorry because I expressed my opinion, is that what you want me to say now? I love the new line of sets, even though they are remakes. We got beautiful new pieces and figures, and lovely designs, just like we're used to of the LEGO Harry Potter line. What's the point? I don't know, but I bet it has to do with making a profit. Because that's the main goal of every money earning company. But it also made all the (LEGO) Harry Potter fans happy, including myself. I don't say there won't be any LEGO Harry Potter sets at all in 2011, but looking at previous licensed themes, they are getting a shorter lifespan every year. I am sorry if a have disappointed the fans here, but how could I do that? It was my opinion. I am a huge Harry Potter fan myself (so ending the LEGO Harry Potter theme is the last thing I want to see! There are still loads of things and characters I want to see in LEGO). When there was announced LEGO Harry Potter officially was never going to be released again I started to make my own creations, including The Burrow (and a year later they announced the set, I was so happy!). I love the sets, but I also love to make my own creations in the fantastic universe created by J.K. Rowling. And that's what I was trying to say with my post in this topic: to base us on these great ideas and make our own creations! Again, you don't have to get all angry on me and make me feel bad. You're not the only one who wants to see more sets, but I'm just saying we have to be realistic. Edited November 25, 2010 by Matn Quote
Vindice Posted November 26, 2010 Posted November 26, 2010 Don't feel bad Matn, especially after all the lovely MOC's you've given us! I thin the reason why people may get upset is because your voicing fears that they probably already have but don't want to realise. Judging by current trends there may not be much more life left in the range but as you pointed out this is a business and if it continues to make good money then i think it will see more releases. Prince of persia was a rubbish film that wasn't really for young kids and had very limited scope for lego sets. It was a poor choice of licence and they paid the price. indiana Jones had a bit more scope but was also quite limited in terms of variety. Harry Potter is different it's a universe as close to star wars as any licence will ever get! (Unless they did lord of the rings), it has enormous potential for creativity and variety whilst appealing to boys and girl fans of lego. Also remember that in terms of money making potential Harry Potter dwarfs Prince of Persia and Indiana Jones in terms of revenue. If the Lego group base their decision on profit (they certainly do!) and if the reaction to this years sets are positive then there will be more sets. Take that to the bank! Quote
Geertos13 Posted November 26, 2010 Posted November 26, 2010 (edited) You are absolutly Right, Why are we all complaining and hoping for new sets ? We should gather our own pieces and make our dreams come true. Isn't that what LEGO is all about ? Lego gives us the possibility to build whatever we want : WHATEVER WE WANT That says it all. With all the Harry Pieces, and minifigures from the other licenses, we can easely make our minifigs and own CREATIONS. Isn't it much more enjoyable to have a pretty, self designed moc on your shelf , than a big by LEGO made set ? Personnaly I do agree with Matn, LONG LIVE TO THE MOCS ! MrCustomizer Posted November 26, 2010 Posted November 26, 2010 (edited) I think that since (I'm fairly certain) they are making LEGO Harry Potter Years 5-7, and with one more film coming next year, it would be illogical not to make one more wave of sets. I mean, 2011 could be the most popular year Harry Potter has ever been, and LEGO would be missing a huge opportunity if they decided to discontinue it with Diagon Alley. Now that most people have voiced their opinions on the subject, who's up for posting more ideas? Or even better MOCs? ;) ~MC PS: speaking of MOCs.. Edited November 26, 2010 by MrCustomizer Quote
Ravenclaw2010 Posted November 27, 2010 Posted November 27, 2010 You should really just edit your previous post... I think the idea of the add on carriages for the Hogwarts express is brilliant! Thank you! I also hope they make a Number 4 Privet Drive set with Harry, Vernon, Petunia and Dudley. Quote
Lord Embo Posted November 28, 2010 Posted November 28, 2010 More ideas: Harry's House in Godric's Hollow Minifigures: Voldemort(Hooded), James Potter, Lily Potter and Harry Potter(baby) Honeydukes Minifigures: Ron Weasley(Sweater), Hermione Granger(Sweater), Harry Potter(school robes), Draco Malfoy(Sweater), Vincent Crabbe(Sweater) and Gregory Goyle(Sweater) The Leaky Cauldron Minifigures: Rubeus Hagrid, Harry Potter(casual), Tom the Innkeeper, Doris Crockford and Quirinus Quirrell More ideas coming soon. Lord Embo Posted November 28, 2010 Posted November 28, 2010 Name: Transport Breach Hagrid’s sky-blue and white bike and sidecar. Comes with owl and his pink umbrella. It's not Hagrid's bike; it's actually Sirius Black's bike. He gave it to Hagrid to send baby Harry to Privet Drive and Hagrid modified it with the sidecar before moving Harry away from Privet Drive. Vindice Posted November 29, 2010 Posted November 29, 2010 Leaky Cauldron and Godrics hollow are both good ideas. From a selfish MOC'ing standpoint i'd love to see a detailed Room of requirement. Lots of accessories would be nice. It would not surprise me to see one next year as there is a big scene in there with Harry, Ron, Hermione, Draco, Crabbe abd Goyle. A shrieking shack too would be good. From PoA or DH2 Quote
