No no its not just a case of what sets you have!!! I think this would be a nice place to see peoples collections all together, you know their ships and bases and forts or lil random things to do with pirates.

I had the ingenius idea of rebuilding both my ships (despite one not even being finished) and so now i currently have a pile of lego and 2 BSB hulls with bows built up and thats about it!

Well Wes! You're certainly a dark horse - I never realised you had so such Pirate LEGO! Awesome collection!

I like how you've made the Caribbean Clipper into a decent sized vessel, your blue coats have something comparable to the Black Seas Barracuda and Skulls Eye Schooner.

The other thing I like is your abundance of cutter sized vessels which is something the LEGO Group should really consider basing some sets around.

Hey Wes,

You sure have a lot of ships and even more minifigs. Some of your ships looks like a scene of refugees fleeing a third world country. I hope that didn't offend anyone. Ever thought about combining some of your ships to make a much larger one?

That's a lot of ships :pir-oh3:, I only have 3, and they're disassembled :pir-cry_sad:

Where they all once original ships, or did you buy hulls, sails and masts from BL or something similar? Because it looks like there's at least 4 CC, 3 BSB, 2 SES and 2 Armada flagships in there among others.

Well, originally I think I bought:

3x 6274 Caribbean Clippers

3x 6285 Black Seas Barracuda

2x 10040 Black Seas Barracuda

2x 6286 Skull's Eye Schooner

2x Imperial Flagships

2x Armada Flagships

I have also bought at least 5 ship hulls on bricklink, and parts. Three of them are RBR hull parts, but with an extra center section (so they have 3 center sections each).

I bought 800 to 900 pirates from torquay's bulk store on Bricklink, and I have about 120 or so bluecoats. I use red for the standard guys and yellow epaulettes for the higher ranking guys (to fit with Lego's sets). My bluecoats use the Western weapons, though, because they were cheaper at the time.

One of the parts of my collection that I don't have a photo of is my treasure...I went on a spending binge one time and literally bought half the gold coins on Bricklink...so now I have enough gold to fill up three BSB-size hulls end to end, and enough jewels to fill up a fourth.

I have too many ships and not enough docks and land, so my latest project is to build a large dock and many islands.

As for building a large ship, there's another (not pictured) ship-rigged two-decker that I've slowly been working on. It has four center sections.

I intend to use my collection productively by running Evil Stevie's Pirate Game in public venues like DragonCon.

You have way to many troops in the Ships, Mabye I could take some off your hands for space? :pir_laugh2:

I like your Forts, I wish I had them...

Wow, I'm heavily impressed! Were they all new when you bought them? You're absolutely devouted to Pirates!! And you must have the necessary financial means to be so tremendously devouted to it!

I also like the way you have transformed the Caribbean Clipper into something bigger and amazing! Absolutely great that ship! And I'm looking forward to seeing your port! Don't hesitate to post it as soon as you have completed it!

Thanks for the complements. I Hope to post better pics of the 12-gun flagship sometime in the future.

Most of the sets were bought used, but there were a few BSBs I got MISB. Nothing stays MISB at my house, though. I only buy to build with!

:pir-oh: your pirates have a lot of treasure to loot (or spend) I hope you'll get around to take a picture of that.

Can't wait to see your port finished, which has to be huge to accomodate the very impressive amount of ships you have.

I do not plan to buy any more large ships -- I already have an excess and need to focus more on islands and small craft for now.

I thought the BSB and SES were cutter sized. :pir-laugh:

Some of it is sorted. Some is in bagged set form. Some is just loose mixed. The three large grey containers on the middle level contain elements of the port that are somewhat complete. The tranparent blue container in the middle has space, vehicle, train stuff that I am going to sell off. You can see the minifigures top left at rest waiting for a proper home. So this is my collection it is always growing as demonstraighted by the five islander sets in their original boxes I bought off craigslist for next to nothing just a few hours ago. Oh ya and the back end of the elliptical machine where I work out and get ispiration for future creations.

Can you tell my wife and kids are out of town for the weekend?
