Last year in Günzburg we had competitions made as a GP. If anyone have some questions about it,

go to this thread and see what I mean.

We will have the same idea this year.

The competitions will mostley be secrets. However, there is so far one that can´t be.

Holodoc had a great idea for last years event that I slightly changed.

Rules for Vignette competition:

1. First rule, don´t talk about the Vignette competition.

2. Build a Vignette. Minimum size 8x8, maximum size 10x10.

3. The Vignette should represent your country in a clever way (should be guessable what country, don´t have to be to obvious).

4. DO NOT SHOW OR TALK WITH SOMEONE ABOUT IT.

5. The entrys should stay secret until you are told to come to me with them (probably Friday or Saturday evening).

If you have questions, you can ask them here. If it is about your model, PM me!

The competition will have three different parts of it.

1. What country.

2. Who built it.

3. Which one do you think is the best build.

It is not nessesary to participate, but this contest it self has 75 points to compete about if the same will win all three categorys.

So dig out your bricks, and give it your best!!

Hey, I disassembled mine! :cry_sad:

Okay, okay - I start building another one...

Something like Castle Neuschwanstein on a 8x8 plate.

Great idea, Ras.

I'm slowly getting impatient . Still 110100 days to go. :sing:

Sorry that you did dismantle it. I said it was going to come back next year (meaning this year).

At least the "0"s will now start piling up infront of the "1".

But impatient On!

Is it still worth me doing it??

Sorry if I confused you.

Of course it's worth it taking part in this vig-comp, this is an actual competition!

Or are you fearing my MOC shown in the link will beat all of the rest anyway?

You can still make one for the record. Could be fun to see what you will come up with.

This will be my first Lego competition ever. My 8x8 (or 10x10) will not be the kind you would expect. I warn you all.

Then it is about time Front  Looking forward to what you will bring to us.

I am terrible with dimensions, does 10x10 mean e.g. a plate with 10x10 studs ?

A plate like this is kind of 11 studs wide :-)

If a 10x10 plate is fine, I'm done. Not that I'm using a plate :sadnew:

YEP.

What?

What kind of calculation is this?

A plate 10 studs wide and 10 studs long (10x10) is 11 studs wide??? *huh*

lol, I actually was writing an explanation and then realised I really suck at dimensions. Good that I'm not drawing bricks, lol

I would say in the well known store on Neimoidia "Outfits for Bandits".

No, my confusion came about because everyone else is doing stuff wrong.

You see, a 4 Module Technic beam has 4 holes, so far so good. But, there are only 3 Modules between the two holes at each end. When you want to construct mechanism with Technic, or get stuff aligned like making a Pythagoras triangle with sides 3, 4 and 5 (3^2 + 4^2 = 5^2 =25), a 4 Module beam is only 3 modules long. This is why I say a 4x2 brick is in my terminology a 3x1 brick, and a 6x1 brick is a 5x0 brick.

It's simply because I count the spaces between the holes or knobs, and not the number of holes or knobs like everyone else is (the guys who got it wrong).

My terminology and the underlying theory was put forward to my colleges sometime last year. They reacted in the wrong way, like Holodoc

How do you make the parts fit that you design?

Your title sure fits you Front

Having finished my entry several days ago, I really started doubting today, turned my entry up-side-down, gave it another 90 degree rotation, and am now satisfied again.

Looking forward to the 20th of April. Hoping for good weather I am.

Good to hear my fine Doctor.

Really hope everyone is taking this contest serious.

Because this will be a vital competition for beeing able to win prices.

I've done three but I'm not happy with any of them :sceptic: I still have some time so I hope I will be able to come up with something better.
