Derfel Cadarn Posted March 3, 2010 Posted March 3, 2010 This is the start of what will be the first in a series of large mocs based on Myths and Legends. This particular one is going to be based on a old cursed fishing village, which is why im posting it here . Im going for very 'detailed' on these mocs, as i really want to bring them to life! They will not all be pirate themed though. The next installments will be about the witch known as Mary Jane, then Jack the Ripper followed by Sleepy Hollow and some others that i wont mention yet. I hope to get this first one finished soon, but dont want to give to much away yet, so heres a quick wip picture of a small section. Quote
Admiral Croissant Posted March 3, 2010 Posted March 3, 2010 That looks good I don't know Mary Jane very well, but I've seen Sleepy Hollow and a documentary about Jack the Ripper and I'm really looking forward to your MOC's. Nice job so far, good luck with the rest. Quote
Capt. Stabbin Posted March 3, 2010 Posted March 3, 2010 Holy cow!!! This is going to be a sweet project. I guess you do have a million legos! Quote
Big Cam Posted March 3, 2010 Posted March 3, 2010 I absolutely love the cobble stone look to the front of the building, and the sheer size of it as well. I'm not as familiar with this series, or story, but that doesnt matter as I think your work speaks for itself. I can't wait to see it finished, it's so impresive already. Quote
Fires-storm Posted March 3, 2010 Posted March 3, 2010 Wow, an amazing start, can't wait to see it complete! Quote
Kaptein Rob Posted March 3, 2010 Posted March 3, 2010 good luck on this project, it looks great already I love those cobblestones! Quote
Derfel Cadarn Posted March 4, 2010 Author Posted March 4, 2010 Thanks for the comments. Ive spent a bit of time on each building trying to fit as much detail as i can, more than I have on previous mocs. Heres a few more pics. This is the left side of the port, and im virtually finished with the buildings on this side. Just need to work on the courtyard and marketplace behind the buildings. A closer shot of the buildings. The green building is the stallion pub which is an important part of the legend that the moc is based on. The large open hole on the ground is where im planing on building a courtyard/green area or marketplace. Maybe both. I will post another update when the left side is complete. Quote
Captain Becker Posted March 5, 2010 Posted March 5, 2010 (edited) BEATIFUL work mate Anyway, you have done once again absolutly very impressive MOC can wait for see more of this Keep it up Captain Becker Edited March 5, 2010 by Captain Becker Quote
Big Cam Posted March 5, 2010 Posted March 5, 2010 haha, I love the regular colored bricks holding it up, it kind of makes you think that every fancy creation has regular colored bricks undernieth since everything is LEGO. Love it Quote
suunto Posted March 14, 2010 Posted March 14, 2010 What a fantastic MOC this really does look amazing, can't wait for more pics and close ups. Quote
lightningtiger Posted March 14, 2010 Posted March 14, 2010 One word - AWESOME ! What a W.I.P., man you are good at this eh ? That inn is almost beyond words, lets say beautiful for starters. All the other buildings around it go with the flow, in a way they look like run down houses you would find in that century - fantastic design and build 'Derfel Cardarn' and really I'm a conformist! !
