z_zadar Posted March 5, 2010 Posted March 5, 2010 (edited) Semperamid Abbey is imaginary abbey of Red Hiits, an imaginary order inspired by Christian medieval history. I'm building it for the exibit my club is organizing in Zagreb, Croatia. It's only a half of planned build. This is the plan: And is what it looks like in minifig scale: Other 50 photos you can browse here: http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/190013 Thanks for your comments!! JimBee Posted March 5, 2010 Posted March 5, 2010 Nice! I like how you planned it out with a miniature first, maybe I ought to try that. Of course, the full scale looks excellent. The MOC has a very eerie sort of vibe from it, which I like. Very nice work on the church inside. A few suggestions: - The water was the first to catch my eye in a bad way. The blues just don't seem to blend together well, and small plates of dark blue and clear are placed sparingly. I would invest in more of these pieces to make the water look more natural. - The tall tress look a little bare. Not sure if they're supposed to look this way, but I think they could do with more leaves. Other than that, great work. I'd be really interested in this fantasy history you based this off of. Quote
lightningtiger Posted March 5, 2010 Posted March 5, 2010 This image........... of your interior ..........only now I can pick up my jaw off the table ! Your Abbey MOC is BEYOND AWESOME ! Perfect reproduction of an abbey that would have been around 600 or 700 hundred years ago easy ! The gardens are nice and stone work excellent - I am impressed ! Great work 'z_zabar' and I'm a conformist! ! Quote
Ras 74 Posted March 8, 2010 Posted March 8, 2010 This is absolutley stunning z_zadar! Such a nice idea to first build your layout in micro scale and then convert it to minifig style. It has such a clean design to it so the feeling of an old abbey is really there. Looking forward to see the complete thing when done. Quote
mautara Posted March 8, 2010 Posted March 8, 2010 Great MOC! And the microscale one is great too. Quote
escortmad79 Posted March 8, 2010 Posted March 8, 2010 What did you use for the stained glass window? Quote

z_zadar Posted March 9, 2010 Author Posted March 9, 2010 But making it part of a wall was one of the hardest part of the built. It just doesn't fit right anywhere except their own door frame, and if you are trying to put it on to double-side wall, as I did... oh... not an easy task. Quote
Admiral Croissant Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 Lovely interior, exactly the same light as in those real buidlings. I think the outside could use some more colour (maybe a banner or something like that, though it might not be historical accurate here..) but for the rest it's very good All the relics and graves inside the building are also nice, good job!
