Lego Amaryl Posted March 5, 2010 Posted March 5, 2010 (edited) Hi! I modified my bus of the set 7641 City Corner to make it more realistic. The original version of the bus has radiator grills on the front and no motor on the back, so I modified it to be more similar to a real bus. In addition, I put a separation behind the driver seat and printed custom stickers. This is the result: More images on MOCpages and Brickshelf. EDIT: who can guess why I chose the number 47 ? prateek Posted March 5, 2010 Posted March 5, 2010 I never noticed, but now that you added new headlights, it looks much more realistic Quote
lightningtiger Posted March 5, 2010 Posted March 5, 2010 You know you're right most buses have their engines in the rear - I must remember that when I MOC my Trans-Adelaide bus in the next few weeks ! I like the stickering job you have done and the front end looks even more realistic the original 7641 bus. Excellent MODing 'Lego Amaryl' and I'm a conformist! ! Quote
ImLost Posted March 6, 2010 Posted March 6, 2010 Nice MOD! I especially like your custom decals. However, I think the front looks too bare. The bus would look better if it has a bumper that sticks out and some sort of decal in-between the headlights. Quote
ChefAgf Posted March 8, 2010 Posted March 8, 2010 Nice Mod! 47 is your age? If not i didn't mean to offend you! Quote
Fugazi Posted March 8, 2010 Posted March 8, 2010 47 is your age? If not i didn't mean to offend you! There was a running gag about a '47 conspiracy' in Star Trek, as the number 47 kept appearing in background (or sometimes very obvious) graphics. But I'm sure it's totally unrelated to this! I'm trying to remember what was the bus destination sign sticker in the 6000 Idea Book, was it '36 Legoland'? Quote

But I'm sure it's totally unrelated to this! It is related instead! I'm a fan of Star Trek! I'm fan of science fiction in general, but with LEGO I'm "down to earth" and build only City... Quote

jmupton2000 Posted March 8, 2010 Posted March 8, 2010 I'm trying to remember what was the bus destination sign sticker in the 6000 Idea Book, was it '36 Legoland'? There are two buses that appear in the 6000 ideas book, one has no destination, just the number 381 on its sides. The other is shown at least twice but only from the rear but is identical to the one that came in the classic 379 Bus Station set and the destination sticker on that was '25 Legoland' Quote

I had it all wrong! Hmm I wish they would bring back the idea books Quote
