This is the IZ Emporium.

Why IZ? Because I happened to have a clothing tag lying around that said so.

Very Modular, very highly detailed, very well thought out and not bad at all.

I will say that it's not deep enough, not enough departments unless it's a speciality retailer you were aiming for - I quite like the hat and bags/balls department - what no oversized gold platters ?

Some pots and pans with some glassware would be nice, but it's your MOC - you do as you see fit.

The street kids are good, likewise the staircase is fantastic - at least you can go up and down the floors right ?

Cute yet effective cafe and what's a trendy store without a fashion parade right ?

But where's the change rooms for the girls ?

Anyway 'Aliencat' - excellent work on your 'IZ' store - maybe we can you the Wizard of Iz eh ?

I'm a conformist! 'Aliencat' I'm a conformist! ! :sweet:

Thought there'd be a special dedication to Cutlass Izzy hidden there somewhere

Great job, Sebastian! Another awesome Modular - you sure seem to be full of ideas!

That would be rather... um... random.

Really great MOC AlienCat, it is so intricate and I just love the corners of the building. Not a little bit of the whole thing is boring to look at. Well done (as always).

Hi Aliencat,

like i said on Mocpages:

Wow Aliencat this is really cool! I love the color scheme. Lots of tiny details. I'm going to enjoy all the photos later today for sure! :)

Well, I really enjoyed all the photos just now. Great work on the enterior.

Nice colorfull floors, and I really really like the fact that you tiled them.

Have you considered white 2x2 tiles instead of the light grey 2x2 tiles for the floors?

To contrast more with the sidewalks.

I was wondering what is on the top floor and is there a staircase to get there?

Thanks for sharing. :classic:

Kind regards,

Teddy

Very nice. I think the thing that stood out for me first was how you had good textures and colors on the back of the building. You did not shy away from detailing the back. The store looks really good, with all of the merchandise for sale. Your people have so much going on, it is hard to catch it all in the first pass. Thanks for sharing.

The excellent exterior style was instantly recognizable as an 'Aliencat', Sebastiaan, but the interior is certainly up to par with the exterior.

Awesome job, as usual! :cry_happy: This is a perfect example of how you allways know how to mix nice designs + techniques + good scenes + special little touches + your personal mark for creating a perfect MOC. :classic: BRAVO!

Amazing work as usual!

If I had to quibble, I think the roof section in bley is too similar in colour to the detailing on the ground floor, and for some reason the use of 1x1 tan round plates looks a little gappy under the topmost roof slopes. But this is indeed a fantastically detailed building at an impressive scale, and bustling with life and activity!

This is a really great building, Aliencat!

The little techniques you use to 'age' the exterior, be it the use of texture or the use of color, really sets your work apart from most others. There are great details everywhere, but none of them are overdone so as to become distracting, which is quite a feat!

The interiors are equally stunning, and for more convincing as a place to shop than the Grand Emporium.

Leave it to you to create a massive building that not only has a wonderful exterior, but an absolutely amazing interior. I love all the little shops inside, especially the clothing store and the little bar on the second floor. My only suggestion would be to add some changing rooms to the clothing store, and the dark tan looks a little weird mixed in with bley on the roof. It might look better all bley. Other than that, the rest of the building is perfect, and looks splendid set up with all the other modulars on display.
