Aliencat Posted March 7, 2010 Posted March 7, 2010 When I first saw the Space Police set Smash'n'Grab Rig, I found Squidman's space tow truck such a cool concept, I wanted to make my own space tow truck. So here's a "UCS" version of it. Check out the full description and all the photos on MOCpages, or just the photos on Brickshelf when public. Quote
Rick Posted March 7, 2010 Posted March 7, 2010 The color scheme is great, although I don't think it needs the stickers. The big pillar piece to construct the hook arm is an excellent choice. Quote
ILikePi Posted March 7, 2010 Posted March 7, 2010 What an breathtaking MOC! I can't even think of what to say. The vehicle looks very cool in dark red, and the greebles and stickers add a whole bunch to the MOC. Quote
Legostein Posted March 7, 2010 Posted March 7, 2010 Hello! A great large-sclae version of the spacey tow truck! The rear part is very detailed with much greebling. Engines and crane are also fantastic. Cheers, ~ Christopher Quote
Inconspicuous Posted March 7, 2010 Posted March 7, 2010 Simple stunning! The dark red is just perfect, and the greebles aren't overdone at all. The stickers look really awesome, and you even made a stand! And what's more, even the stand is greebled! The greebles on the underside and Power Miners wheel are nice as well. Fantastic UCS Model, Aliencat. I 'd love to see more like this in the future. Quote
sok117 Posted March 7, 2010 Posted March 7, 2010 ww, that really is um, well... ULTIMATE. You've done a great job turning that set into an UCS, nice work and the republic red looks really cool too. Quote
MrTools Posted March 7, 2010 Posted March 7, 2010 Amazing! This has to be one of my favorite UCS MOCs to date all the details are just incredible. Quote
Dannylonglegs Posted March 8, 2010 Posted March 8, 2010 Kick Megablox. Very nice Moc, I love the Dark red and the tan. Very clever Idea; using the stickers from space truck getaway to give it that Space Policey feel. ~Insectoid Aristocrat Quote
CP5670 Posted March 8, 2010 Posted March 8, 2010 This model captures the look of the set perfectly, and has just the right amount of detail. Now all you need is a brick-built Squidtron to go with it. I'm always impressed by how diverse your creations are in general. You seem to build great stuff in practically every theme. Quote
k_peek_2000 Posted March 8, 2010 Posted March 8, 2010 PLEASE do more!!!!! This is soo awesome. The ships that lego designed are soo amazing/creative I wish they had more detail in the regular sets. Quote
Raphy Posted March 8, 2010 Posted March 8, 2010 Amazing! Do you mind if I give a try at building a UCS official theme vehicle? Quote
lightningtiger Posted March 8, 2010 Posted March 8, 2010 AWESOME MOC 'Aliencat' - a SP3 USC style bad guys ship - too cool ! Great colours and detail - again I say awesome ! Fantastic job and I'm a conformist! ! Quote
Lordofdragonss Posted March 8, 2010 Posted March 8, 2010 Is that "Pimp my set" show? Great job, it looks outstanding! Quote
Ras 74 Posted March 8, 2010 Posted March 8, 2010 This is a really well built UCS MOC! I had to go look at the original and see what it looks like more in detail. Your detailings and greeblings is really fantastic. I like your colour scheme alot more than the original one as well. Quote
Princess Muttonchops Posted March 8, 2010 Posted March 8, 2010 Great MOC Aliencat, I love the chunky sides, and the colours work so well. Quote
General Redwater Posted March 8, 2010 Posted March 8, 2010 Very Nice! You even built a stand! Even nicer! Quote
Fires-storm Posted March 8, 2010 Posted March 8, 2010 Wow, a truly stunning MOC, the stickers really set it off beautifully, and the dark red was a superb choice! I love the grabber arm, and the detail on the cockpit is just superb! great work Quote
Loganwan Posted March 8, 2010 Posted March 8, 2010 Very nice. Good color choice! That red is really pleasant. Quote
CMP Posted March 8, 2010 Posted March 8, 2010 My GOD. It's amazing! This is my favorite space set, and it's turned seemlessly into a UCS! The only flaw is the dark red...then again, I can't blame you for that. I plan to send an angry letter to TLC about it's lack of purple! Quote
Delta 38 Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 Looks great. Unfortunately, don't have the actual set myself to compare it, as it's not released in Australia yet (to my knowledge). Honestly, I preferred the purple colour scheme, but red is good too. Quote
Tobbe Arnesson Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 Very well done! I like that you've cleaned up around the eninges which seemed a tad overclustered on the original. Here's the official set for those (like me) who don't know it: http://www.brickset.com/detail/?Set=5982-1 Quote
