VBBN Posted March 7, 2010 Posted March 7, 2010 Im probably going to be doing these every two months when a new one comes out, as well as the product catalogues. Somepeople like them so this is for you! Soo on with the review. Cover The cover features BEN 10, and even though its a pretty crappy theme, I really like the art. Its got a worn effect to it and the one face looks kinda like iron man in that pose. I also noticed there isnt much wording on the front cover, which is strange seeing as we usually get quite a bit of it on most lego club magazines. Opened up Inside we find a quick table of contents, an ad for Lego Rockband, and for us Bionicle fans, the second part to Journeys End, which may be the last comic for bionicle that you will find in a lego magazine. Highlights A nice Prince of Persia ad. A bit of a behind the scenes look at Bionicle's Stars videos An ad for lego universe. An interesting raffle for the younger kids interested in winning a fmaily trip to atlantis. The lineup of Brickmaster sets till august. Back The Arc-170, nothing exciting here. So overall the magazine for these two months is pretty bland. There are two comics, but there are no posters or interviews or contests(besides the raffle) to really make it exciting. But if your a Bionicle fan its a must have for the comic. *To see reviews of Journey's End 1 and 2,go here; http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2760/441481..._0e9fb5fd0f.jpg Quote
Fugazi Posted March 7, 2010 Posted March 7, 2010 Hmm not much content this month, is there? I haven't received mine yet, but since I only became member a few months ago I'm not sure if it's normal or not. So there's no 3D material to be read using the 3D glasses from last issue? Too bad! Quote

There is an atlantis comic but alas it's not 3-D, but it does say to go to the atlantis website on lego.com as it has some 3-D material. Quote
Zarkan Posted March 7, 2010 Posted March 7, 2010 Interesting idea - but I really doubt the magazine is going to get any more interesting than how it is now. There is an atlantis comic but alas it's not 3-D, but it does say to go to the atlantis website on lego.com as it has some 3-D material. Huh, that's odd, because the comic in my copy of the magazine is 3-D. Quote
prateek Posted March 7, 2010 Posted March 7, 2010 (edited) I hate that Lego is really going lean on their magazines as of late, but I'm looking forward to that comic. Edited March 7, 2010 by prateek Quote
Spyder Posted March 7, 2010 Posted March 7, 2010 Actually, my magazine has an interview, and the Atlantis comic is in 3-D. Quote
Fugazi Posted March 7, 2010 Posted March 7, 2010 Ok so the US and EU editions have different content? Actually how many versions of the Club Magazine are there in all? I can't remember if back in Canada we had a special edition or if it was a joint publication with the US. Quote
VBBN Posted March 7, 2010 Author Posted March 7, 2010 THe Jan-Feb catalogue had a 3D atlantis comic but the comic in this magazine is not 3D. Quote
dieselboy m Posted March 8, 2010 Posted March 8, 2010 Huh, that's odd, because the comic in my copy of the magazine is 3-D. Mine's in 3-D as well. I hate that Lego is really going lean on their magazines as of late, but I'm looking forward to that comic. Sure it ain't much, but it is free after all. Then again, even Brickmaster is pretty lean for the price. Quote
Spyder Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 THe Jan-Feb catalogue had a 3D atlantis comic but the comic in this magazine is not 3D. Maybe your comic, but not mine: Quote
VBBN Posted March 9, 2010 Author Posted March 9, 2010 Interesting, did yours include the Bionicle comic? Lego seems to be mixing around certan content with these magazines. Quote
Spyder Posted March 11, 2010 Posted March 11, 2010 (edited) Interesting, did yours include the Bionicle comic? Lego seems to be mixing around certan content with these magazines. Yeah, mine included the Bionicle comic. I have no idea why Lego wouldn't make the European comic in 3-D, or include the Ben 10 interview. Seems Europe is getting ripped off again. EDIT: Here's the interview. Edited March 11, 2010 by Spyder Quote
VBBN Posted March 11, 2010 Author Posted March 11, 2010 Thats the thing, I live in the US, so its the US that s getting gyped of it. Quote

Ras 74 Posted March 13, 2010 Posted March 13, 2010 Thanks for the review VBBN. Guess I will have mine in a few days. Quote
Spyder Posted March 13, 2010 Posted March 13, 2010 Thats the thing, I live in the US, so its the US that s getting gyped of it. How strange, I've never heard of this happening before. Maybe Quality Control was on a coffee break. Anyways, great review, VBBN, for one of the many different versions of this issue. Quote
Fugazi Posted March 23, 2010 Posted March 23, 2010 Just got my March-April issue of the Magazine, UK version (here only labeled as Issue 2 2010). Overall it's quite different from the US version, starting with the cover: (pic from the LEGO website, follow the link for a summary of the content) Just wanted to mention this as I wasn't aware that the international editions of the Magazine were so different from one another. Not that the UK content is any richer, from an AFOL point of view! Quote
