Erdbeereis Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 Karlsruher Schloss, located in Karlsruhe, Germany, was built in 1715. It was destroyed in World War II, but rebuilt shortly after. The city of Karlsruhe was planned with the tower of the palace at the center, with streets radiating out from the palace like the spokes on a wheel or the ribs of a fan, giving Karlsruhe the nickname "Faecherstadt", or "Fan City". Karlsruher Schloss. Built for the LEGO Architecture category in the MOCpages MOCathlon. Flickr Thanks! Quote
Ashi Valkoinen Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 Karlruhe do have a quite good tram&railway system, but why did you post this building to Train Tech? Quote
Rick Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 Blogged today before you even posted it to EB... Quote
Erdbeereis Posted March 10, 2010 Author Posted March 10, 2010 My bad! I accidentally posted it in TT. I'll move it. Quote
not-in-use-anymore Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 Interesting MOC. Though, is this supposed to be the rebuilt one or the destroyed one? Quote
lightningtiger Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 Sweet looking building very typical of German building design back in the 18th Century ! Great design job 'Erdbeeris' and I'm a conformist! ! Quote
Erdbeereis Posted March 10, 2010 Author Posted March 10, 2010 Interesting MOC. Though, is this supposed to be the rebuilt one or the destroyed one? Well, it looks like it's in pretty good shape, so I think it's the rebuilt one. It's been rebuilt for quite a while now, probably 60 years or so. Thanks guys! Quote
WesternOutlaw Posted March 11, 2010 Posted March 11, 2010 I thought we had a new train MOC for a minute. It's a nice little mini nonetheless. Quote
Holodoc Posted March 11, 2010 Posted March 11, 2010 Very well done, strawberryice! I have been to Karlsruhe several years ago, but I remember the palace. Great work. I like the way you presented it in the Architecture surrounding and I love the micro style. What could be better? Quote
The Player Nº1 Posted March 11, 2010 Posted March 11, 2010 Wow!! It's so simple and so beautiful. Congratulations. Greetings Quote
