I Scream Clone Posted March 11, 2010 Posted March 11, 2010 I built this Indiana Jones game for the MOCAthalon over on MOCPages for the "Its Only a Game" category. I can't wait to have a few games with my son. It features 6 unique characters from the Indiana Jones Movies, a dice and a Snakes and Ladders style game. It even has a nice twist at the end for the winner. The winner can drop a boulder onto any one right behind them for a bonus victory! 6 figures so everyone can be Indy! More here at MOCPages Cheers ISC. Quote
Alex the Great Posted March 11, 2010 Posted March 11, 2010 Nice ISC, it looks like a fun game. The boulder move is pretty cool, and the build is really well done. Keep it up! Quote
prateek Posted March 11, 2010 Posted March 11, 2010 Yay! This is probably the best Snakes and Ladders board I've ever seen Quote
FinalFeature Posted March 11, 2010 Posted March 11, 2010 Very nice moc I Scream Clone. That looks like a very fun game. The brick built ladder and bridge is a nice touch. Awesome Job! Quote
ILikePi Posted March 11, 2010 Posted March 11, 2010 Cool board game ISC! I like how you incorporated the movement squares into the natural-looking environment. The same goes for the snakes and bone ladders. Quote
WesternOutlaw Posted March 11, 2010 Posted March 11, 2010 Clever little game ISC. This looks like it would be fun to play. Quote
Izzy Posted March 11, 2010 Posted March 11, 2010 Why did it have to be snakes? Why couldn't it be Butterflies and Ladders? Really cool game ISC! You have managed to keep the play areas very obvious but still have the jungle feel to it, awesome work! I wish I had enough pieces to build my own because now I want to play. Quote
Rick Posted March 11, 2010 Posted March 11, 2010 Why did it have to be snakes? Why couldn't it be Butterflies and Ladders? And why ladders, why not escalators, elevators, or transport beams? Nice work ISC. This sure looks like a fun board game to play. Ladders always seemed a bit useless in 2-D anyway. Plus you have cool minifigs to move about instead of boring pawns. Quote
L-space Posted March 11, 2010 Posted March 11, 2010 Great stuff ISC. it really looks like a movie scene. You've won my son's respect for this one. And now I have to make him one. Quote
lightningtiger Posted March 11, 2010 Posted March 11, 2010 Cool game 'ISC'.....really cool .......a whole new twist to snakes and ladders ! Man, 3 Indi's OMG....swamped for choice ! Great scenery and that surpise ending - very nice ! Great build and I'm a conformist! 'ISC' really I'm a conformist! ! Quote
The Legonater Posted March 13, 2010 Posted March 13, 2010 (edited) This is incredible! A work of art! How exsactly does the boulder trap work (In the game)? Now I have the urge to make my own... whether it be Indy, or Starwars or whatever! Edited March 13, 2010 by The Legonater Quote
I Scream Clone Posted March 13, 2010 Author Posted March 13, 2010 Thank you all so much for the nice comments I hope to play it soon. This is incredible! A work of art! How exsactly does the boulder trap work (In the game)? Now I have the urge to make my own... whether it be Indy, or Starwars or whatever! The boulder platform is on hinge bricks, you just tip it down when you reach the end, thereby vanquishing your foes! Quote
ILikePi Posted March 13, 2010 Posted March 13, 2010 The boulder platform is on hinge bricks, you just tip it down when you reach the end, thereby vanquishing your foes! You should try using a setup that launches the boulder when you press the last moving square down. You could attach one of those strings with two 1 x 1 round plates at the ends to the last square and boulder platform, and find a way to get the last square to be able to be pressed down (maybe something similar to the techniques used on Fighter Plane Attack or Venice Canal Chase). That way you can have even more fun launching a gigantic death boulder at your enemies! Quote
