lightningtiger Posted March 13, 2010 Posted March 13, 2010 G'day folks, since 'Kubik Rubik' posted his medical scanner today I thought hey what about a radiology clinic for my town. So here's the start and of course it's W.I.P. as I haven't made the frontage or reception area yet - they'll come in the next few days. Benson Radiology Clinic (which is an Australian chain of such clinics) Remember it is a W.I.P. so comments are very welcome and I'm a conformist! everyone ! Quote
Admiral Ron Posted March 13, 2010 Posted March 13, 2010 Looks really nice! I really like the patients' bed! Quote
lightningtiger Posted March 13, 2010 Author Posted March 13, 2010 Looks really nice! I really like the patients' bed! Thank 'Admiral Ron' for your kind reply , yes I like the patient bed too - it is modelled off some real ones - images of which I found in Google Images - gee what would do without Google eh ? I'm a conformist! everyone ! Quote
prateek Posted March 13, 2010 Posted March 13, 2010 It's really nice and compact! You could also make it bigger and add a CT scan or an MRI machine to make it better Quote
Rufus Posted March 13, 2010 Posted March 13, 2010 I like it, lightningtiger! The couch is great, especially with the little drawer under it, but I especially love the sink and soap dispenser! It'd be difficult to achieve, but you could perhaps make the X ray machine move, so that patients can have xrays taken standing as well as lying (chest x rays are usually taken standing up) - might need a little liftarm or something to achieve this. But I'm just being picky; I love this! Quote
lightningtiger Posted March 13, 2010 Author Posted March 13, 2010 Thanks 'prateek' and 'Rufus' for your very kind comments. Now first that Xray headunit can rotate - it's mounted on a 2x2 turntable. But the height of the Xray unit is not adjustable so when I was making a standing target plate - the unit shot too high over the minifigs head. If I can find away to raise and lower that Xray projector then I can do the standing one too. Actually some of these radiology clinics only offer X-ray, although an MRI might be possible. But I have started work on the building itself..... Of course it's still a W.I.P. and I might still add an MRI - I'll go Google Images to find some images of them. Comments are still very welcome - remember from Clutch Powers - we build off each other ! I'm a conformist! ! Quote
lightningtiger Posted March 14, 2010 Author Posted March 14, 2010 Here's my MRI machine.........why because you asked for it ! Yeah, alright I'll test it before sending it ! Mmm, nice.....could watch some TV right about now ! Comments welcome and I'm a conformist! ! Quote
awesomebrick Posted March 14, 2010 Posted March 14, 2010 Very nice lighning tiger I really like the MRI thingy Good job! Quote
lightningtiger Posted March 14, 2010 Author Posted March 14, 2010 Very nice lighning tiger I really like the MRI thingy Good job! Thank you 'awesomebrick' for your kind reply. I now must do more work to the Xray setup plus design a room for the MRI and improve the design of the reception area. I'm a conformist! everyone ! Quote
Zorbas Posted March 14, 2010 Posted March 14, 2010 Great job lightningtiger! Both compartments look very accurate and the idea of a small clinic in a town is very nice! Always testing before handing over! Safety first! P.S Watching House M.D really paid off. MRI, CT scan, all these look familiar to me by now. Quote
The Player Nº1 Posted March 14, 2010 Posted March 14, 2010 I liked the patients bed and the MRI machine. It's so cool. Greetings Quote
lightningtiger Posted March 14, 2010 Author Posted March 14, 2010 Thanks 'Zorbas' and 'The Player No.1', oh yeah hello again to 'awesomebrick' for all your kind comments including the fun ones ! I wonder what this button does.......' Hopefully tomorrow I'll get a start on the reception and scan rooms again, need to get colours right among other things. I'm a conformist! everyone ! Quote
lightningtiger Posted March 14, 2010 Author Posted March 14, 2010 G'day it's tiger time again. Now when you look at the following images, please I must find more nice and clean bricks to complete the job, and then add a reception area with a small waiting room. So it's still W.I.P. and here we go........... So you can see I can fit everything medical on a 32 wide plate, man can you image a hospital I built one, dude it would be the size of all my streets so far put together ! New Xray unit so it can totally work on the vertcial and horiztonal axis ! Digging up more bricks today - hopefully some more clean unmarked ones too ! Comments very welcome and I'm a conformist! everyone ! Quote
prateek Posted March 15, 2010 Posted March 15, 2010 That MRI is awesome! I can't wait to see the final Quote
lightningtiger Posted March 15, 2010 Author Posted March 15, 2010 That MRI is awesome! I can't wait to see the final Thanks 'prateek' working on it right now........shifting the med area to a 16x32 base plate. Oh, and I glad that you like the MRI - that was about 2 hours solid design work to get it to work ! I'm a conformist! ! Quote
lightningtiger Posted March 15, 2010 Author Posted March 15, 2010 Oh, man this is one W.I.P. more updates right now........ Yes it is 48 x 16 - biggest area for a single MOC so far and this was ment to be a little one........yeah right ! Shortly I'll be starting on the reception counter and waiting room seats. Comments welcome and I'm a conformist! ! Quote
John31388 Posted March 15, 2010 Posted March 15, 2010 Great job I love all the little details. Keep it up Quote

dr_spock Posted March 15, 2010 Posted March 15, 2010 Looking good. Do Lego mini-fig x-ray operators have to worry about radiation exposure? Quote
lightningtiger Posted March 15, 2010 Author Posted March 15, 2010 Looking good. Do Lego mini-fig x-ray operators have to worry about radiation exposure? Thanks 'dr_spock', oh the stray radiation............that's why they all have that lovely green glow to them ! I might build some protection in, but I have to be careful not to crowd the scene, it is designed to be played with ! I'm a conformist! ! Quote
Rufus Posted March 15, 2010 Posted March 15, 2010 Thanks 'dr_spock', oh the stray radiation............that's why they all have that lovely green glow to them ! You could use some of these - the operators could wear them to simulate lead aprons that radiographers wear. This is coming on really nicely lightningtiger! Looking forward to seeing the completed mega-hospital One suggestion - maybe tile the floors; much easier to keep clean! Quote

Tiled eh, I would if this was a modular build, but it's just a classic style open back - right now my son is playing with it ! Thanks also for the suguestion with the vests, fantastic idea and I'll get some tomorrow and make some vest hooks to hang them on. I'm a conformist! everyone ! Quote
Legostein Posted March 15, 2010 Posted March 15, 2010 Hello! Very accurate and detailed equipment for a hospital. Your hospital will be much moreadvanced than any official hospital set. Cheers, ~ Christopher Quote
