Your Modular Collection 28 Days Later

Well, seeing as how I just got my first modular building (Green Grocer - loving the build thus far!) last week and I haven't completed it, I likely can't answer this poll yet :P.

I can imagine leaving it assembled for awhile - messing with it, adding furniture, etc. My collection isn't really sorted too well so I won't piece it out yet. I'll probably leave it on display for awhile then box it up in a plastic bin as I loathe cleaning excess dust from my bricks (just cleaned a ton of Legos left out in my parents basement for too long)

I never take em apart! I have them sitting on a bookshelf under a glass display case (Vitrine).

Where the never need to get dusted,

now just waiting for the next one.

Damn going to be another year.

I have only purchased the Green Grocer so far. I had it assembled for a few months, while I kept building my own modules to sit alongside it. I then took it apart and used many of the pieces towards my "Luigi's Pizzeria". I plan to purchase at least one more, along with multiple of each of the others. I'd like to leave one of each built, but I want the parts, too - My girlfriend hates to see me take any models apart!

We just bought a new house a couple weeks ago, and I'm building a set of built-in bookshelves with about 100 inches of flat space on top. Should fit my CC town nicely!

Modular buildings and other LEGO sets stay together only until I need the pieces or display space. Cafe Corner and Market Street have both been parted out. Green Grocer and Town Plan have stayed together for over a year, but that's just because I haven't needed the pieces yet.

As I build mostly Town buildings, small Star Wars and Exo-Force sets last the longest on my shelf as they don't take much space, and I don't need the pieces for what I build.

I stored pieces for MOCing, but not only 28 days after. Sometimes i buy modular buildings especially for pieces, i.e. the fire brigade for the dark red amount

Well, my Cafe Corner Lasted the longest. I had it on my computer desk, so I looked at it everyday. I occasionaly changed the minfig positions, added a firetruck to the scene etc.. CC was just awesome.

Now that there are 5 out... I've since torn down CC, and I have built GG and Market Street. I will soon be re-building CC and building FB for the first time.

I kinda miss the days, when there was only CC and it was SO AWESOME!

Now, they sit on a spare dresser, and don't get as much attention as when CC sat on my CPU desk

My daughter (now 11) seriously plays with them. She was never into doll houses, but she has built extensive interiors for all of the buildings. Really great kitchens, furniture, etc. During the summer, she invites her friends over and each one gets to "move in" to one of the houses, and they play for hours and hours. CC is currently vacant and waiting for a new tenant. :) We just got the GE, and she hasn't had a chance to mod it yet, but I'm sure it'll end up having a better selection of goods than Macy's. :)

What's the point if you can't play with them! -Jason

I display/add to my lay-out most of my sets.

For now, my modulars have priority over my other sets on display.

I have little room to display all the sets I bought since I came out of my dark age, my City Corner is still MISB because of that...

On the dresser there's CC, Part 1 of MS, Cinema from Town Plan, GG + Part 2 of MS arranged around a small "town square".

On top of my bookshelf are the town hall and service station from Town Plan

As soon as I get FB en GE (2 copys probably) I'll dismantle the town hall and service station from Town Plan to make room for them*

After that, I don't know, maybe destroy the cinema from town plan when Lego releases a new modular.

*Don't ask me where I'll display the Imperial Flagship
