Old Gold/Silver for GB Colour? Those were the best ones besides Yellow, although my Silver cartridge doesn't save my progress.

Ah, you'll have to get Soul Silver then. No, I never did get a chance to play that one, used my friends Red cartridge and my ability at ice and rock puzzles to to convince him to let me play on his save file. My patience in the Safari Zone was also a boon. I bought all the others, but Gold/Silver came out in the space when I had no money and my friend was "too old" for pokemon.

This is happening to everyone. It's about that time when the cartridge's internal battery runs out. I don't know if not using it for several years helps, but I'll miss the memories...

Good thing HG and SS are just being released though. A little pricey (40 USD) for a DS games, but still worth it, I think. The only thing I don't like is the fact that they add the new Pokemon to the remakes- I kinda wanted to re-experience the game as close as possible to when it was in 2000. :sadnew:

Really? There are internal batteries? For what? BTW, what does not using it help, saving, or the inability to save?

No more questions

At least you'll get the same starting Pokemon at the beginning.

Yes. This only happens to G/S/C because all three required an internal battery to have the day and night cycle. After ten years, they run out, and I think the save system was part of the internal battery. So R/B/G/Y should all still work.

True, but I'll be disappointed if a gym leader or the Elite Four use Pokemon post-G/S/C.

Can you replace the battery?

EDIT: I just checked youtube, and it seems really hard, so I'm not going to try it :hmpf_bad:

As shown by my Sig Picture (Till I get my camera working) I like Metroid and Super Smash Bros Brawl the best. My best character is Wolf in that game.

I've been playing Soul Silver for about two weeks now, and I can say that the only pokemon in the main game are from Gen I and II, pokemon from R/S/E and D/P/P don't appear until after you beat the elite four and go to the Kanto region, so the entire part of the original game is pure S/G/C pokemon, just like it should be.

All you guys talking about Pokemon are making me feel old. I was around 20 when it boomed and never had any interest in playing it... It was pure kids stuff. 15 years later, well, everyone grows up, and everyone loves what they loved as kids (hence this site).

I'm not considering playing it, but is there any value in Pokemon beyond nostalgia?

Good thing! I've gotten a little farther in the game myself (1st badge! ), and so far, so good.

Definitely. They're excellent games, although Gold and Silver are the best, IMO. I'd suggest you start with either Red or Blue (or Green, in your case  ), and work your way through the series in order of release. The originals might be the hardest, but that's how most of us started, and IMO, the experience won't be the same if you start with the newer ones.

So if you like RPGs, this a great series to explore. Overall, they're pretty easy.

Nice, I really like the way this tread is heading. I just got Heat Gold and WOW! That game is fun! I really like how they kinda remade silver/gold. I recall that my lv. 100 Feraligatr was named Sea Beast. Those were the days... :sadnew:

I never nick named my pokemon. Although there is one exception in every game Ive played. I always used to nick name a ditto "SexMachine" just cause I kept it the breeders to breed pokemon and I would never take it out so it would usually be at Lvl. 100 when I lost interest in the game.

Let's move on from Pokemon to Mario Kart! My favourite is Double Dash. I also loved the SNES one but I found it so hard

That's my favorite too.

I liked the whole idea.

Metroid isn't bad, though I do find it to be inferior to Bionicle Heros(DS, same console) as it had the same controls, but had far more enemies, better weapons, at least 20 times the amount of maps, more entertaining boss fights, etc.

I am unable to ascertain at this time whether this is a trolling comment or you are simply incapable of intellectual thought.

Ok notrly. But Metroid....I would really like to know which game you played. I'm nearly 100% sure I've been entertained by every single Metroid game more than I was the snoozefest that was Bionicle Heroes.
