Batbrick Posted June 28, 2010 Posted June 28, 2010 The missing roof part is not a parts issue - it is a letting your 21 month old daugther play with it before you photograph it issue. Aww, that's adorable! Awesome that you do a lot that! I myself prefer fleshies and wish Lego would convert once and for all as I don't like to mix them. (Then it would be worth getting the minifigure collections.) Agreed, fleshies I find to be much better, and while I wouldn't like them to completely replace yellows, I wouldn't mind them being either dominant or atleast a better portion of figs. The bank is still built as my aim it to have a Gotham city. I can only hope to do the same one day! Anyway great mods Righteous Squid, the enhanced detail and height make the bank look much more imposing, real and very "Gotham-ish" without compromising the more outlandish and generally fun tone of your Batman world, which I do greatly admire! Sorry about the late post too, but rest assured I've looked at this several times, I've just been a terrible mix of lazy and busy recently. Batbrick Away! Quote
blhc11 Posted June 28, 2010 Posted June 28, 2010 Hello Righteous Squid, I still consider this a great MOC, and I'm mainly posting to give you two suggestions:1- maybe make an Iceberg Lounge(take a look at Batbrick's); 2- or maybe make a Wayne Manor(Dave Kaleta made a great one, but only exterior wise, he never took photos of the interior), I mainly want you to build one because I've taken up that same endevour and would like to compare our works =D Cheers. By- a person who still inquires himself about why the individual blends in with the others, making him not an individual but a part of the "group" of people who think they are being someone when the truth is that they will all think the same!(...) and then they'll build giant robots which will also be the same, and dressed in larger versions of the peoples' clothes HAHAHAHAHE!!!!!! Righteous Squid Posted June 29, 2010 Author Posted June 29, 2010 (edited) Your MOC's keep getting better, and Better! The detail in this one is fantastic, and your other Scarecrow MOC's Great aswell! Keep up the good work, hope to see more soon -Scarecrow Thanks Scarecrow. Look out for my Arkham Asylum, home of the Scarecrow, coming soon. Aww, that's adorable! Awesome that you do a lot that! Here in this pic you can see a lady happily perched atop the top right wall: the handiwork of my daughter. I didn't notice until after I had taken the pic. Agreed, fleshies I find to be much better, and while I wouldn't like them to completely replace yellows, I wouldn't mind them being either dominant or at least a better portion of figs. I can understand TLC’s wish to retain the iconic yellow minifig and I would be happy if they would do a wider range of fleshies available through pick’a’brick, or moving into the realm of fantasy, a trading service in which you could trade lots of yellows for fleshies (or vise versa). The thing that annoys me more than the dominance of yellow heads though is the torsos that have a little bit of yellow for an open neck. The only way to use them with fleshies is to paint them or pretend the minifig is wearing a yellow vest, and how many Gothamites wear yellow vests? I can only hope to do the same one day! “If you build it they will come!” Anyway great mods Righteous Squid, the enhanced detail and height make the bank look much more imposing, real and very "Gotham-ish" without compromising the more outlandish and generally fun tone of your Batman world, which I do greatly admire! One has to try very hard not to have fun with Lego. I have no plans for an Iceberg lounge. I’m afraid I carry my own version of Gotham in my head in which there is no Iceberg Lounge and the penguin is a crazed opera singer (sorry Penguin) : so I hope to do an opera house. I do hope, however, to do a zoo a la Batman Returns sometime in the distant future. I have plans for a Wayne Manor over a Batcave – though not on anything like the scale of Dave Kaleta. I have done some initial experiments but it will take some time to gather up the necessary bricks. Could be a couple of years before this project really begins to blossom sadly. Projects I am currently working on are Arkham Asylum and a Gotham Dept. Store and I shall post WIP pics soon. I also am trying to collect pieces for Jokers old abandoned carnival park. Righteous.
