CoolerTD Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 I built this arch for doublebrick contest. According the rules I could use only simple plates and bricks in this creation . I hesitated where to post it, here or in the Historic Themes, but finally i decided that here it would be better. So enjoy. Quote
lightningtiger Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 Nice design job there 'CoolerTD', I really like the plate trick for arch itself - very clever indeed. I'm a conformist! ! Quote
Rufus Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 That's amazing, considering the limitations! Well done Though I'm sure some of the purists might be uncomfortable with some of your building techniques, I'd think you've achieved an amazing result. Quote
Milan Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 Really interesting design. Maybe it would be smoother with tiles on top, but it is just my idea...I like this arch! Quote
WesternOutlaw Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 Beautiful Cooler! I love how you created the actual arch - far beyond my LEGO building ability. Very impressive. Quote
CoolerTD Posted March 26, 2010 Author Posted March 26, 2010 Thanks for reply! Really interesting design.Maybe it would be smoother with tiles on top, but it is just my idea...I like this arch! Maybe, but according the rules of the contest I could use ONLY simple plate and bricks, no tiles, modified bricks and so on. Quote
Matt Dawson Posted March 26, 2010 Posted March 26, 2010 I think we're all envious of your talents - you're sure there isn't anything advanced in there? Quote
Davey Posted March 26, 2010 Posted March 26, 2010 Great work here! I love the fact that you managed to use simple elements to creating something so beautiful. Great use of the TOPLESs techniques and selective compression. I think your color scheme also helps to pull out the details on the front of the MOC. This is great work and well deserving of this... Again, well done and keep up the great work! -Davey Quote
squidman85 Posted March 26, 2010 Posted March 26, 2010 Привет,Cooler I very like the details and the design of the arch.Very great MOC ! Quote
Milan Posted March 26, 2010 Posted March 26, 2010 Maybe, but according the rules of the contest I could use ONLY simple plate and bricks, no tiles, modified bricks and so on. Well, maybe than some SNOT roof would be nice...I think it would look great without studs on the top. Quote
Toa_Of_Justice Posted March 26, 2010 Posted March 26, 2010 Awesome work, CoolerTD! I think your MOC has just raised the bar for creativity with only simple bricks and plates. Best of luck in the contest! -Toa Of Justice Quote
Lego Lassie Posted March 26, 2010 Posted March 26, 2010 A beautiful creation that's hard to believe came from such simple parts! With all the specialized parts today, a person can forget what is possible with only the basics. I really like the way you worked the colors as well. Wonderful job! Quote
Pyramid Posted March 26, 2010 Posted March 26, 2010 This is beautiful! Masterfully built. I thought it was a new TLG-made set for a second. lol Quote
CoolerTD Posted March 27, 2010 Author Posted March 27, 2010 (edited) Well, maybe than some SNOT roof would be nice...I think it would look great without studs on the top. ya, you right, interesting idea. Mayby i`ll try to do it. Edited March 27, 2010 by CoolerTD Quote

Big Cam Posted March 29, 2010 Posted March 29, 2010 Very nice, I like the way it appears to be made of all regular bricks and there are lots of studs showing. It looks pretty much to scale too, great work. Quote
