Another extraordinary review Clone O' Patra!

I love the overall look of this set from that three-quarters view! The mix of all these shades of brown and white make the set look amazing.

I personally don't think that it's worth $80 (USD), but when you factor in the minifigs, accessories, new color of parts and other things, it does seem like a good price for this set.

(I give it an above average [4])

Great review Clone O. Indeed looks like a fun build (with quite some variation to the walls, gate and palace). The color scheme of this is brilliant and the figs are amazingly detailed. Great to get an extra dagger, in case you forgot where you hid it.

Too bad the doors don't fully close :sceptic: but the new connection method definitely looks a lot sturdier than the old one. Looks like they're switching all connectors to either bar-and-clip (for continuous movement) or those clicky hinge connectors.

Great review, man! I really want this set but I'll probably not be getting it ($80, even if you get 821 parts, is a little out of my range, especially given my age of twelve), I'll probably get Fight for the Dagger as it is basically just a smaller version of Battle of Alamut (comes with two less bad guys, a smaller "palace" and a camel) and costs fifty bucks less. :P

How are you feeling? I've never been to a hospital before (which is surprising, given the crap I try sometimes, pardon my french), but it must be terrible, even now that you're out. Get well soon, man. :]

Excellent set and review!

Thank you

I don't have any Indy sets, however I am thinking in buying one of these new PoP sets

Nevertheless the list f sets that I want is so long that I don't know what I am ging to do.

The moment I first saw the first photo of this set I wanted it, this review is just proof to me that it is possibly the best set of 2010 for me. It will be difficult for me not to display this, although I crave the new pieces to MOC with. As an out of the box set it just looks beautifull, the MiniFig's are exquisite with amazing design (front and back), everything about it just says opulence and grandeur to me. Everyday I search for the slightest hint that the Prince of Persia theme has made its way to the UK, can not be long away now though!

My only concern is that the new colour introduced in this set becomes more widely available in other pieces, so that I can use it properly.

Wow! Thanks for this excellent review Clonie! You've taken some great pictures that really help to understand how the building looks like. The bird's-eye view is 1000 words.

I must say, I'm impressed by the set. A very good number of minifigs, beautiful accesories, a great colour scheme, a camel  , what else do you want?

The great thing about this set is that it looks "complete". The building is closed and gives the feeling of an actual palace, waiting to be conquered. I can already see the potential when it comes to expanding it.

Thanks again for the excellent review! :classic:

I wasn't convinced when I saw the pictures of this set. But your review has convinced me: I must try to get my hands on this one! Excellent review.

The castle/palace looks wonderful, but I'm not interested in Prince of Persia, the games nor the film. But it's such an awesome parts pack. The minifigures alone are great, all the new orange/dark nougat pieces and the new arches are very nice to have in your collection. Imagine all the eastern creations we'll be seeing once these are in stores.

Well, I love the minifigs and the overall completed feel of this set, but it's probably going to be massively overpriced here, so I'll give it a miss this time. The gold scorpion is a nice little addition.

I liked this set since i saw the first pictures, but now i love it! :cry_happy: The features it offers are ecven better than i first thought, and against my first intention, there actually IS a good selection of interior in it aswell. I really like that sword hiding feature. Can't wait to get this!

LEGO apparently calls the new color Medium Nougat (I'm assuming such because it's the newest color in their 2010 color palette, coming even after Atlantis's Transparent Bright Green). I'm not going to enforce the use of LEGO color names or anything, but I just figured I'd throw that out there while everyone's still undecided about what to call the new color.

Nice review! I doubt I will ever get this set, but I might reconsider if it's ever on sale (Target on Black Friday, I'm looking at you... :classic:).

Also, The head of that Gool guy seems to be the universal (*cough*Bruce Wayne*cough*) head of 2010. It's twice in PoP, also as the market seller, Boba Fett in SW, and Filch in HP...

Actually, Boba and Filch have a different head: LINK

I really love this set. The doors, the camel, the minifigs, it's all great. I don't think that I'd keep it built too long though. Too many great part and too many great colors not to MOC something else out of it. I know I'll pick this set up, though. It's too good to pass up.

This is an excellent review which has certainly made me even much looking forward to this set than before! Thanks Clonie, I wasn't really expecting you to review a PoP since you told me there is the other set available, which was the Quest of Time.

This set is just plain amazing, from the entire minifigs range, camel up to the design of this palace with many plentiful of new parts and colours. This is just the right set to get started, and I am wondering if I get more of these sets and extend the fortify walls, similar to those modular castles.

I could just read this review again and again. Excellent job!

TLC sells it in the US - L I N K

Wonderful review, was a pleasure to read and your pics are as sharp as a HDTV. It seems to be a lovely persian castle, whatever the characters, movie, story or background will be, this is just a nice set to display and to play with it seems. Lovely. I kind of hate PoP for throwing out Indy, my favorite line, but the sets seem to be very very nice.
