This is great set, much better than I'd thought it would be and really sits well next to the Orient Expedition sets. Hope theres a Prince of Persia sequel coming, or they just keep releaseing more big sets from the film.

Unfortunately, the only realistic thing to say about both of those ideas is "keep on dreaming." There are currently no plans for a sequel in the works that I know of, and there's no way at all that LEGO would release new sets from a film that is almost a year old.

Well... not from Prince of Persia, anyway. They have released lots of sets inspired by scenes from movies a year old or more, but then Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Harry Potter, Toy Story, Cars and Pirates of the Caribbean are not Prince of Persia (or Speed Racer).

Both are good sets, and I have them both, but this one is better. If you have the 50 dollars, certainly buy Alamut. Even if you're not that into the set or even the minifigures, the shear magnitude of cool parts and nice colors are worth it.

This set is well worth the original $80, and certainly $50. I doubt you could be remotely disappointed, and I mean that fully.

When you say used, do you mean used and complete, or used and missing stuff? That would certainly make a difference. I find used and complete to be no different than new really; this set is certainly worth $50 complete.

Burr, that May the 4th be with you really seat me back...

I got it two days ago and worried if I make it I may want to tear it down... woe is me...

Thanks very much for this great review. Spotted one on eBay tonight and picked it up for a nice price. Review influenced my decision......not that I need much persuasion to buy another set

Good Review very thorough with pictures that mattered from the build. I definately recommend this set. I own 1 and 3/4 and got both items off of Ebay if you watch it you will get some good prices on this set now. This set ties well into all the desert themes and I have managed to time them alltogether into my ultimate castle theme.

Great review. I find your review style very detailed and interesting to read.

I've been picking up the PoP sets at Target for 30% off these days, and when I saw this set for $55 I knew I had to have it. For the price per piece alone it is a must buy, but it also happens to be a really nice looking set. It's my very first castle/palace/playset of it's size. I'm quite pleased to have found it on clearance as the price normally would mean that I spend the money on a higher priority set.

Has anyone ever figured out what the purpose of the two technic beams are? Thanks for the great review. Joe

To make it look like pillars and support beam.

Ok, thanks for the reply.

It seems odd to me that they are only for aesthetics.

Perhaps their inclusion has something to do with the fact that in the opposite castle wall segment a part of the wall is designed to pop out? They wanted to differentiate it, make it clear that you shouldn't start wacking on this wall to get a part to pop out?
