March 27, 201014 yr Sand Orange sounds fitting to me, unless they make another, lighter version of this. Then this would be Sand Dark Orange, and the other one would be Sand Orange.
March 27, 201014 yr I voted Medium Nougat because that's the official name. There's obviously no way people will start referring to some colors by the official names (such as green, which to LEGO is dark green), but I see no reason to make up a new name for this when there's a perfectly acceptable official name which we've known since early this year. Pity other people haven't made the same decision... EDIT: Also it simply can't be called Nougat or Dark Nougat because two colors by those names already exists. A name is supposed to bring about less confusion, not more Edited March 27, 201014 yr by Aanchir
March 27, 201014 yr Just got a PoP set or 2. I haven't even opened the second one (Ostriches, oh boy!) OSTRICHES OSTRICHES OSTRICHES! Snap! I'm doing it again! Hey, look! Svelte is well on his way to becoming famous! Edited March 27, 201014 yr by The Legonater
March 27, 201014 yr I vote for 'Schmelt'! A melted version of Svelte Or, since this colour is new and at the moment exclusive to Prince of Persia, I vote for 'Nipplehaal Orange' since it matches the shade of Jake Gyllenhaal's nipples in the trailer Seriously, since LEGO has now after some years gone to the trouble of giving us an official name and colour that, why not go with that and just call it 'Nougat'? Sand Orange is too easily confused with Earth Orange. Ricecracker, have you ever made Nougat from scratch? It often has that off-golden colour just like the bricks from the honey and eggs. Go and make a fresh batch and then report your findings Seriously, I will probably end up using whatever Bricklink goes for (even though they are still arguing about it themselves) since that's where I buy most of my parts from and theirs is the reference catalogue I use most.
March 27, 201014 yr I voted Medium Nougat. It may not be tongue-friendly, but I think it'd be great to try and sync AFOL nomenclature up with the official lingo. Obviously it won't happen overnight, but baby steps like these will probably help.

Lego could name it in your honor! They do have a habit of sending out strange color names, in my opinion (trans dark brown!) Nipplehaal would be an interesting word to pop (PoP) up the next time Lego gives us their internal color pallet! Just putting it out there, Mango-Cookie Fusion!
March 28, 201014 yr I don't know why, but I really, really hate the word nougat. It's just... ugh. So I voted for Sand Orange.
March 28, 201014 yr I'd go with Schmelte almost-famous-Svelte Dita here and vote for Nougat. Nothing wrong with it (unless of course you insist on pronouncing the silent "t"). I didn't think I'd be too interested in the PoP sets, but like Indy, the whole theme is slowly starting to grow on me, I must admit. Can't wait to get my hands on some of those sets. Oh, and I've got something for you Rick:
April 3, 201014 yr Honestly, who cares? Anyway, "Colour of time" is way to go, isn't it? :D Seriously though, I think (as our dear, wrong friend Svelte has already mentioned above) that we should simply go with the BrickLink and peeron names. Other names would just cause confusion to BrickLink/peeron users. @CallMePie: Your suggestions made me laugh. You cut right to the chase of this thread's importance! :D funkybrick Edited April 3, 201014 yr by funkybrick
April 4, 201014 yr I think that we should call it Nougat, because, seriously, why say two words (sand orange) when you can just say one? It's annoying enough typing things like trans-neon green, and stuff, so why add another two-worder to our palatte. I love the idea of the-Svelte-Was-Wrong-Colour, but again, Its a little too wordy for me. SWWC is perfect, as long as your not in the star wars forum, when you might encounter SWWC and SWCW in the same sentence! If you don't know what the latter is, you don't watch enough Childrens' Television. Furthermore, nougat tastes good, whereas sandy oranges... do not. Lego could name it in your honor! They do have a habit of sending out strange color names, in my opinion (trans dark brown!) Nipplehaal would be an interesting word to pop (PoP) up the next time Lego gives us their internal color pallet! What colour is that in our pallatte? At least TLC doesn't name their colours after the nipples of actors/actresses. ~Insectoid Aristocrat. Edited April 4, 201014 yr by dannylonglegs
April 4, 201014 yr I'll say we call it sand orange, it's easy to remember and it matches the other types of sand colors. If not that, my second choice would be Nougat.
April 4, 201014 yr Sand Orange. Nougat and Dark Nougat sounds too much like the colour of my food when I threw it up in my bed 10 years ago. It's obviously why you hate it Jlblue Batbrick Away! (Sorry for the story)
April 4, 201014 yr My first choice was easy 'Svelte-was-wrong-colour' - real easy ! Second - yeah ......'Sand Orange' ! I'm a conformist! everyone !
April 4, 201014 yr Well, I haven't had an opportunity to call it anything yet, but I like the sound of "nougat".
April 4, 201014 yr I voted "other color". To me it looks like caramel. Caramel! Yes! That's the perfect name! I don't care what other AFOLs call it, but I'm going to refer to it as caramel.
April 5, 201014 yr I think sand orange is as good as any. I don't know why they just didn't go with the burnt orange though. I don't need another color to deal with. Steve
