Posted March 27, 201014 yr I started this 2 days after I took apart my first ship, The HMS Royale. I used some of the same features, but Incorperated some new things like the slanted stern, new sail arrengement, and another mast. The name "Vigilant" is a french word meaning "A watchful eye" I thought it was a nice name for a Privateer. Deeplinking didn't work for me, so I just put the links here. Enjoy! overview: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=4405466 stern: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=4405468 figurehead, a one eyed bull (relates to the name) http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=4405470 broadside: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=4405470 deck: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=4405472 side shot: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=4405475 Another shot of the deck: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=4405477 side of the stern: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=4405482 The captain in his cabin: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=4405485 Some goods : http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=4405487 I hope you enjoyed this one. March 27, 201014 yr Here, I'll deeplink them for you. Here's a tutorial on how to post and deeplink an image, I'd advise you to read it Overall it looks like a pretty good ship, I'm digging the color scheme
March 28, 201014 yr A very nice build Captain! The coloursheme is really appealing to me. The sails are very nice too! Your stern technique has improved a lot I see. Perhaps you can add a little more detail like flowers and such though, but the shape is very nice! The two cannons at the back are a nice touch, and I like the figurehead. The French flag looks great too. I see you have some excellent reference sources! Master and Commander and Napoleon Total War!
March 28, 201014 yr I know its a bit off topic but is Napoleon Total War any fun? ummm, I'm kinda going back and forth between whether or not I should buy it. It recieved an 8 from 'the press', which is kinda on the line between buy and nye. Here is a review from IGN If I were you I'd go for it, because I can see your interested in the Napoleonic Era, and likely strategy games...
March 28, 201014 yr A very nice MOC, a truly lovely frigate to be sure, I love all the tile in front of the captain in the next to last pic, a very nice touch. Keep bricking!
March 28, 201014 yr Great ship 'CaptainKiwi' - fantastic number of sails and excellent colours, plus details right down to the row boat and the humble French captain. Awesome build and I'm a conformist! 'CaptainKiwi' I'm a conformist! !
March 28, 201014 yr Nice ship!!! I really like the colors! I would prefer a little tumblehome, but other than that she is a beautiful ship!! Keep bricking!
March 28, 201014 yr Author I know its a bit off topic but is Napoleon Total War any fun? I think it's quite fun for a strategy game. It takes some time to get used to it though. Thanks for deeplinking my pictures!!!
March 28, 201014 yr I think it can't turn out very badly when you're using M&C and N:TW for reference. And you have proved it The stern is nice and so are the sails. I also like the chess-pattern in the cabin (I've put it in my ship as well ) I'm only missing the things to shut the gun ports with. For the rest it's great! And do you have a crew yet?
March 28, 201014 yr beatifull, i like it very much, and the stern and figurhead is absolutly lovley, Great work mate keep it up Captain Becker
March 28, 201014 yr Author This is actually a very nice MOC, so: Keep an eye on the frontpage Does this mean I've been frontpaged?!? Edited March 28, 201014 yr by Captainkiwi
March 28, 201014 yr If I were you I'd go for it, because I can see your interested in the Napoleonic Era, and likely strategy games... I'll ask for it for my Birthday and yes, I'm a big strategy gamer. Age of Empires III etc. Does this mean I've been frontpaged?!? It means that your ship has been featured on the Classic-Pirates blog
April 3, 201014 yr Nice ship!!! I really like the colors! I would prefer a little tumblehome, but other than that she is a beautiful ship!! Keep bricking! A ctually i prefer things without a tumble home evenn though less reallistic the sides always look more solid and tradinshonal (spellings wrong i know). Edited April 3, 201014 yr by ikensall
