backbone Posted March 29, 2010 Posted March 29, 2010 today i recieved my 8258 from post office, price with shipping: 505 PLN (175 USD) and this price is average for Poland. Check for set prices on bricklink: http://www.bricklink.com/search.asp?q=8258 Quote
5150 Lego Posted March 29, 2010 Posted March 29, 2010 Seems a bit high for a used one. I paid around 175$ USD for a new one in box. But i still seems that Lego is sold out, so these are becoming high demand. In the end, it all depends on you and how bad you want it. Quote
backbone Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 Seems a bit high for a used one. Yep. As i sad i Paid 175$ for MISB 8258. Quote
Tobbe Arnesson Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 They're still on shelves here in Sweden, recommended retail is SEK 1.700,- which is ~$230 US. We get expensive bricks here. :( Quote
Siegfried Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 It's a good set, but I wouldn't pay full price for it... nor would I buy a second hand one without a good inspection first. $200 USD seems overpriced for a used copy. Quote
DLuders Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 On eBay, there are 19 ea. Lego 8258 Crane Trucks for sale: http://shop.ebay.com/i.html?_trkparms=65%2...op=15&_sc=1 . One of them is for sale NEW at $180 US, but the shipping is a whopping $60! Most of them are selling well over $240 US, so maybe paying $200 US for a used one isn't so bad after all. Bricklink has a "Price Guide" feature showing the recent costs of 8258 Crane Trucks. You can see what people have been willing to pay, month-by-month: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogPG.asp?S=8258-1 ($148 to $247 US). Current list of available #8258 Crane Trucks on Bricklink: http://www.bricklink.com/search.asp?itemID...68&invNew=N . Anyway, keep checking the above links (and others) every day -- a good deal may crop up and you'll have to jump on it quickly! Quote
Rijkvv Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 (edited) But i still seems that Lego is sold out, so these are becoming high demand. I think they will be only sold out temporary. Maybe they're out of stock in the US. This was a regular autumn 2009 set, usually sets last at least two years. From the Town subforum: Shortage is reflected in the status "Call to check product availability" and "Sold out", which can be temporary and not necessarily a sign of discontinuation of the set. Smithy Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 (edited) I created a blog post on Sunday about this set. It's currently £103 from Argos in the UK (previously £129). Not available for home delivery but is available from their shops. This normally means it's close to selling out and it's being dropped from their catalogue. Blog post Edited to say Lego UK are still showing they have stock of the model at £130 Edited March 30, 2010 by Smithy Quote
dr_spock Posted April 1, 2010 Posted April 1, 2010 I paid my sister about $165USD to buy it for me last year. $200 doesn't seem too bad if the supply is low and demand is high. Quote
Fyredog Posted April 2, 2010 Posted April 2, 2010 These kits are Done being produced, They are sold out, no more will be made, I asked Lego while ordering parts a while back. Your better off grabbing one now, because they will only increase in value. I got mine for 200.00 shipped from ebay just after they were sold out at Lego. Quote
JunkstyleGio Posted April 3, 2010 Posted April 3, 2010 These kits are Done being produced, ........ That is so strange. No more 8258 set produced at TLC? I always thought is was normal for a set to be produced and sold for 2 years. This model has been introduced only 8 months ago.... it's a good thing i got my set at the beginning for €127 Quote

They are still at S@H for many countries, including Australia. I've heard it be said many times that a set is finished (such as Winter Toy Shop), but often they reappear just the same. Quote
