Brickthing Posted April 2, 2010 Posted April 2, 2010 Before this thread falls away, I'll just thank LuxorV for making the Visual Dictionary prank. For those of you who found the joke somewhat cruel or depressing, lighten up - it was April Fools! Quote
vexorian Posted April 2, 2010 Posted April 2, 2010 Err, excuse me if I am wrong, I am not savvy at American culture but weren't April fools jokes supposed to be funny? It does not even qualify as a mean... It is so strange, this year I seriously can't remember an April fools joke that was fun enough for me to remember it , the internet has failed me. Quote

It does not even qualify as a mean... American culture? April Fools' Day is waaay older than that. In any case, April fools jokes are supposed to be funny for some, but it doesn't need to be all. But we weren't trying to be mean, and I'm sorry if we have offended anyone. I want it now Oddly so do I! Quote
LuxorV Posted April 5, 2010 Posted April 5, 2010 Hmm.It seemed to be fake for a few reasons: -A part of the "Tower of Toa" set overlaps Mata Nui. -Assuming the image was supposed to be bordered, Mata Nui's weapon extends past that. -No author or publishers? -The "free mask" had a heavy outline, which made me feel suspicious. -This was posted on April Fools. Just pointing out flaws. If this was real, I wouldn't get it. It shows every set that I missed. Don't be so picky with me, please, I just took the original LEGO Star Wars Visual Dictionary and changed the images. If they made a non-belivable cover for it, it's just their fault Before this thread falls away, I'll just thank LuxorV for making the Visual Dictionary prank. For those of you who found the joke somewhat cruel or depressing, lighten up - it was April Fools! I can grant everybody, from the deepest part of my heart as a LEGO and Bionicle fan (even if I collected only few of the sets, I liked the theme in general), that no cruelty was meant with this joke LuxorV Quote
ikensall Posted April 9, 2010 Posted April 9, 2010 (edited) Nice ,i've never liked bioncle much anyway .By the way delta if this book was real i would certainly buy it for the following reasons: 1.To find out how many sets i didn't have to suffer at the hands of. 2.It would probobaly make good fire material. The Crazy One Posted April 9, 2010 Posted April 9, 2010 At first I thought: Omg, omg, I want it so bad! Then I looked at the cheap editing on the cover and the comments in this thread. Damn I was fooled by another Aprils fool! Quote

What a useless comment. And it probably wouldn't make good fire material - too much gloss and ink. Don't post just to annoy or provoke other members. Bionicle is one of the best selling and most liked themes LEGO has done in the past 10 years. If you don't like it, then fine, but please let others enjoy it if they choose to. Quote

I don't honestly think they were intending to incite anger from other members (even though it'd be hard to make a post like that without knowing of that risk). I doubt they even intended to check this topic a second time to see if they got any replies. A lot of AFOLs make scathing remarks about BIONICLE, even on such professional sites as Brickset, but I don't think most of them care what BIONICLE fans think about such comments. Quote
