brickme Posted April 6, 2010 Posted April 6, 2010 Wow clone killer, This looks pretty good. Well I registered so expect to see me there often. By the way, Is making your own forum easy? Quote
Luke McAwesome Posted April 6, 2010 Posted April 6, 2010 Very nice forum; I was actually expectig somethng about the Ark of the Covenant when I clicked, but I got something much better! The graphics are great. You're a real professional at making pictures! Quote
prateek Posted April 6, 2010 Posted April 6, 2010 Great site, but I don't think you're allowed to advertise forums here. Quote
Dutch Posted April 6, 2010 Author Posted April 6, 2010 I asked WhiteFang beforehand and he gave me the okay. Quote
VBBN Posted April 6, 2010 Posted April 6, 2010 Looks pretty good, count me joined. I'm a member of way to many forums, so I don't think joining this site will hurt. Quote
fred67 Posted April 6, 2010 Posted April 6, 2010 Great. So you around the forum. I dunno... I understand why you might want your own forum, but why split people between different forums? Except for a much better "theme" that doesn't give me a headache, it seems just like eurobricks... with the exception it's missing a dedicated section for my favorite area, Trains. Quote

Hey, there's plenty of forums out there, for everything. A quick search on Google reveals tons upon tons of LEGO sites. Anywya, if you don't want to join, no one's forcing you to. It's just fun to get involved with different communities; different sites have different standards. In this case, it's a fun change of scenery, and if you stay around, you get to see a site develop. Seeing as I came here about 4-5 years after Eurobricks was first created, I didn't get to see the entire history of EB. But I will get to see Brick Ark's. There's plenty of advantages and up-sides. Also, trains would fit under "Town". Just think of the bright side! Quote
fred67 Posted April 6, 2010 Posted April 6, 2010 Don't be a hater. Not a hater Just don't understand the desire to make people split their time between multiple forums when it's all right here. I barely have time to follow one forum as it is. Quote
samurai-turtle Posted April 7, 2010 Posted April 7, 2010 I was kind of wondering is their any thing special about your new site like theme, location, or why it was created? I did not notice it when I was looking the site over. Quote
AwesomeStar Posted April 7, 2010 Posted April 7, 2010 Well, I'm blown away! A very professional look to site, and with a large number of EB members joining, I'd say a lovely community as well. Joining! (Don't worry, EB. I love you more! ) ~A.S. Quote
Siegfried Posted April 7, 2010 Posted April 7, 2010 I asked WhiteFang beforehand and he gave me the okay. Indeed. The staff will permit longer term members to promote their sites in moderation. We tend to get a bit grumpy though if someone joins and promotes his kool nu l33t forum with his first post. I hope it works out well. Except for a much better "theme" that doesn't give me a headache, it seems just like eurobricks... What skin(s) do that? Quote
AwesomeStar Posted April 7, 2010 Posted April 7, 2010 What skin(s) do that? I have to agree. The winter theme is a bit... garish. And it's spring now. Can we have a spring one please? With pretty pink blossom Lego trees and Lego-family pick-nicks? ~A.S. Quote

AwesomeStar Posted April 7, 2010 Posted April 7, 2010 No time; we are cooking something else up... If it's the same "Summer Time" beach theme with Hinckley's muscled chest on display then I'm going to Google the word "disappointment". I'm guessing you know exactly how annoying it is when you leave little cryptic remarks like that just for the sole purpose of keeping me awake at night wondering what it is, huh? Well, I look forward to it! ~A.S. Quote
Siegfried Posted April 7, 2010 Posted April 7, 2010 If it's the same "Summer Time" beach theme with Hinckley's muscled chest on display then I'm going to Google the word "disappointment". Long term; possible. Short term, no. I'm guessing you know exactly how annoying it is when you leave little cryptic remarks like that just for the sole purpose of keeping me awake at night wondering what it is, huh? Yep! It's all about keeping you shivering with antici........ Quote
tedbeard Posted April 7, 2010 Posted April 7, 2010 What was the point of this exactly? As far as I can tell it is a YALF* with no particular purpose. Is this supposed to be meeting the needs of a particular sub-community (ie: DUPLO, Steampunk) or geographic area (ie: Jamaica, South Pacific, Africa)? EB seems to be doing a fine job of a general purpose community. LUGNET is still there (although could use some improving). Flickr hosts a plethora of general and themed communities. I am sure you created this and are promoting it here with the best intentions. At this point however, it looks like you made a cool site to either impress somebody or to compete with existing sites. Looking forward to some clarification. --- * Yet Another LEGO Forum that duplicates existing online communities without offering any specific improvements or meeting any need in the community.
