We in Oz have to wait unless S@H for the 4x4 fire truck with the helicopter so I have come up with this CFS pick up truck.

CFS stands for Country Fire Service here in South Australia.

Nice brush fire truck, Lightning tiger. The one thing I don't really like are the headlights. My suggestion would be to replace the trans orange cheese slopes with trans clear ones, and add white cheese slopes where you have the trans clear one now. The orange looks out of place somehow.

Cheers,

Ralph

Thanks for comments 'Ralph_S', how's this........

I quickly redesigned the front to use 2x1 trans-amber plates then mounted the trans-clear slopes on to it.

I now feel that it is better looking, thanks for the recommendations 'Ralph' !

Thanks 'Rick' and again 'Ralph_S' for those kind comments - my next vehicle MOC/MOD is a South Australian Police Patrol Motorcycle, I have started already on it.

Posting that a.s.a.p.

Thanks for your kind words 'Lord Arjay' :sweet: - yes I have been working with a 7235 motorbike to make it a SAPOL bike, I'm half way through designing the side pods and working out the stickers for the bike and rider.

When I first read the topic title, I thought you were talking about CAFS, Compressed Air Foam Systems.

This is a very nice truck, LT! I really like the look of the hood, and the how you've managed to fit all of that equipment in there.

There're two things I don't like on this. One, I think the light bar on top looks too big; and two, most vehicles, especially fire trucks, have extended bumpers. If you could push the bumper forward by about one plate, I think it'd look better.

Thanks for the reply 'Ricecracker' - I actually based this on smaller 4x4's that some CFS units in my home state have, plus I took ideas from the 4x4 out of 7206 helicopter & 4x4 set - the only thing I'm thinking of doing is getting a drop gate for the back of the pick up. But I'm still glad that people like this vehicle that I only designed not 10 hours ago from one 2x12 plate.

Quick edit.....here is an example of a small CFS fire fighting unit.

And another - though a little larger.

This picture is real big, so here's just a link........it's about the size in real life of what my MOC could be.

I really like your truck.

Now I want to see your mc :sing: .

Minxter

Thanks 'Minxter' for your kind words :sweet: - MC should be Friday (South Aussie time) posting when I get to the printer again to knock up those stickers.

Nice 4x4 fire truck. Interesting that they use white in the land down under. A gate in the back would work.

Started with 2x12 plate 10 hours ago...you're building like you're on fire. :)

Thanks 'dr_spock' for your kind comment. :sweet:

I'm thinking about a drop gate for fire fighters to stand on while fighting fires from the back of the pick up truck.

Well it's finished and complete with fire fighter.

Here is the pick up scrub bashing to get to the danger zone.

I redesigned the back to take a small water/chemical tank and also to hold the rescue equipment differently.

The small drop gate is actually a platform for the fire fighter to stand on while the vehicle drives slowly along a fire front etc.,.

While researching CFS station sheds (yeah, sheds are where these trucks are housed) I found this picture and it reminded me of a comment from 'ricecracker' about the light bar on top of the pick up truck.

Note the light bar, I knew I've seen vehicles like mine before !

Anyway, as I'm working on a small police station, I'll be designing a truck shed for this one and hopefully a larger pumper - yes again in white just like one of these.
