Alex the Great Posted April 9, 2010 Posted April 9, 2010 I just got my Ostrich Race the other day and the head of the ostrich could come off, so I tried to make a half-human ostrich. The only problem is that it's really only useful with fleshies and there is a little space where the ostrich head should go, and this is what I got, what do you think? Just turn around the figure's legs and add cheese slopes to the ostrich. Build your mutant army. Quote
tin7_creations Posted April 9, 2010 Posted April 9, 2010 did u try replacing the minifig head with the ostrich head? to get an anthropomorphic ostrich. Quote
Alex the Great Posted April 9, 2010 Author Posted April 9, 2010 The ostrich head is not hollow, the neck is. So you can't do it. Quote
prateek Posted April 9, 2010 Posted April 9, 2010 Cool! It reminds me of a Centaur. Now only if you were able to do this with a horse... Quote
Rick Posted April 9, 2010 Posted April 9, 2010 The ostrich head is not hollow, the neck is. So you can't do it. 1 x 1 round black brick on the minifig's neck. Ostrich head on top of it... Quote
tin7_creations Posted April 9, 2010 Posted April 9, 2010 1 x 1 round black brick on the minifig's neck. Ostrich head on top of it... yes. that's what i meant Quote
LuxorV Posted April 9, 2010 Posted April 9, 2010 Nice one, Alex the Great This brings the centaur concept to a whole new level! LuxorV Quote
Sandy Posted April 9, 2010 Posted April 9, 2010 These look fun and imaginative. I might just as well borrow your idea if I need a wacky fantasy race for my MOCs someday. Quote
Admiral Croissant Posted April 9, 2010 Posted April 9, 2010 That's great! Really good idea. Now only if you were able to do this with a horse... Agreed. But these strange combo's are more fun! Quote
Alex the Great Posted April 9, 2010 Author Posted April 9, 2010 1 x 1 round black brick on the minifig's neck. Ostrich head on top of it... Yeah I thought of that after I posted, but the black looks out of place in between the body and the ostrich head. Unless you have a fleshie coloured 1x1 it could work, but I sadly don't. Thanks for the comments everyone! Quote
MagPiesRUs Posted April 9, 2010 Posted April 9, 2010 (edited) Haha! Very cool, I'll have to try that when the sets arrive here. Thanks for sharing. How would an ostrich head look on a skeleton body? Edited April 9, 2010 by TinyPiesRUs Quote
ziljin Posted April 10, 2010 Posted April 10, 2010 (edited) That is awesome. I was thinking of getting more copies of ostrich race to get more naked torsos but didnt know what to do with ostriches. Well now I know. Edited April 10, 2010 by lego40k Quote
Whittleberry Posted April 11, 2010 Posted April 11, 2010 These ostrich-centaurs can be a whole new faction for castlers! The cost could be a bit prohibitive though... Quote
Tanotrooper Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 Saw these on Brickshelf the other day, gave me a great laugh Nice job! TT Quote
