Calabar Posted April 11, 2010 Posted April 11, 2010 Hi Everyone! As suggested, I introduce myself in this section! I sign up today, in order to take a more active part to some interesting discussions! Because of my poor English (and the difficulties to read long topics) I think my presence wouldn't be assiduous, but I'll try to give my contribution! A greeting to every forum's users! Quote

Calabar Posted April 13, 2010 Author Posted April 13, 2010 Thanks everybody! I hope I've a chance to show some MOCs, unfortunately I can't do much because of I've not enough good pieces! Quote
LuxorV Posted April 13, 2010 Posted April 13, 2010 Ciao Calabar! Good to see a new Italian member around While waiting to see your creations (don't worry about pieces availability too much: a good MOC is always good, even if made with few and old parts!), would you mind sharing a bit more about your LEGO hobby: what themes do you prefer and such? Calabar Posted April 14, 2010 Author Posted April 14, 2010 (edited) Thanks you too! @LuxorV Wow, another Italian user! Are there many of us in the forum? About my preference, I love LEGO Castle (my favourite, due to my interest in fantasy and medieval), but my infantry side loves Space and City too! Not much time ago I discovered licensed LEGO like Indiana Jones and Star Wars! I like technic too, but technic sets are so different that I even don't resume those I possessed when I was a child. Perhaps one day I'll do it! I'd like a Mindstorm set too... but it is too expensive and requires too much time to really enjoy with it! Anyway I like LEGO in almost every form. But for budget reasons I have to focus myself in my "core" themes. However, there are LEGO I don't like too. At first, modern lego like Bionicle, Knight Kingdom (the big knights) or the new Ben10 serie. A bit better exoforce: there are some set I'd like to have, perhaps due to the macross saga likeness. Than I dislike new set with monolith bricks (for example new airplanes, sets like the farmer, some lego space police or athlantis sets). At last I dislike pieces that are completely out of scale compared to old models, for example new construction vehicles, new airplanes, etc... About MOCs and pieces, the problem is that I like original sets so much that I not even consider to use pieces of these sets to built something other! I even store up extra pieces I found in the box! So I've to built with extra pieces I obtain in other ways, thing that obviously limit myself hardly. A little question about the forum structure: differently from other forums, Topics are not a simple sequence of posts but there is a hierarchical structure. In another topic I replayed to a specific post so that my answer was places indented under it. But, doing so, it seems that my replay is not much visible: i.e., if another user opens the topic to see if there are other answers, he probably don't see my post because it is in the middle of the discussion. So... have I avoid to replay in this way? Or is my post easy to see anyway? EDIT: I modified the forum layout in order to have the "standard" structure. Now I see post in postage order, but the problem is to give visibility to my replays, so if other users uses the hierarchical structure, those replays could be "hidden" yet. LuxorV Posted April 14, 2010 Posted April 14, 2010 @LuxorVWow, another Italian user! Are there many of us in the forum? Up to now, there are 23 members who result from Italy (i.e., they where willing to fill the Country tag in their profile); another handful do not result from a country search, but I know they are Italian. Unfortunately, most of them are either new members who never get around to take part in the community or old users who do not post anymore. A surely very active one is The Cobra; another couple relatively active ones are Fede78 and SalvoBrick, who come around from time to time. These may seem very few, on the other hand, in the web statistics, Italian users result to be among the most frequent visitors to Eurobricks. I fear the English only text scares most away, and the not so good LEGO availability in our country may be another reason. So, if you know any other fans of LEGO, please invite them to join our site! See you around LuxorV Quote
WhiteFang Posted April 14, 2010 Posted April 14, 2010 Welcome to Eurobricks! It seems our dear LuxorV and The Cobra won't feel so lonely at Eurobricks anymore, and I am sure you will fit just nice inside our community. Quote
