Hechristensen Posted June 10, 2012 Posted June 10, 2012 Yeah... so much simpler than just adding a 9V motor. I'm so glad TLG switched Seriously, though... they at least need a better battery box, something you can put AA batteries in that works with PF and fits on the train. That way, if I want rechargeable, I just use generic rechargables and don't get stuck with some $50 LEGO battery (BTW, the list is missing the charger - #9833; the battery is not much good without a charger... another $25). I'm glad LEGO made it so much cheaper and simpler for the kids. Couldn't agree more! LEGO: "We dont sell that many trains...... bla bla" "trains aren't that popular...bla bla" I would say: No really! (pardon my french) You messed up the train line, when you squished the way too clumsy power functions (that were actually intended for technic sets) in the trains..!! I've said it before and I will say it again. PF are BAD FOR KIDS (and adults) to control. They are some times impossible to integrate into models (like the BNSF). They lack the accesories we had with the 12V serie. They lack the simplicity and beauty of the 9V serie.... As to the EN...: it will look soo nice when you stick that HUGE "BEAUTIFUL" grey coloured XL motor into the cap of that dark green nostalgic engine..... Or... Quote
mrklaw Posted June 10, 2012 Posted June 10, 2012 Just curious - was the Emerald Night released before the PF train motor was available, nwhich is why they went with the XL motor option? Otherwise it seems that a PF train motor in the tender would have been fairly straightforward. I am quite surprised that the N is such a beautifully designed set, yet they don't even bother trying to hide the battery box in the tender Quote
Ricecracker Posted June 10, 2012 Posted June 10, 2012 Couldn't agree more! The swear filters are there for a reason. Please note that the language in your post is rather strong. Quote
Hechristensen Posted June 11, 2012 Posted June 11, 2012 Ahh, thank you for fixing my post! The word "messed up" was actually the word I was searching for, and it does better describe my state of mind on the issue. Quote
