CopMike Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 Here´s a superquick review (because I need to catch a flight to Billund ) of the minifigs from the coming 8097 Slave 1. All three in one picture. Boba Fett - the parts. Boba Fett getting dressed. And here he is all dressed up! Now I have my cape & silencer on right! Bossk showing off! Facial for the crime files!! Frontside & backside. Han Solo says hi to all EB´s members! Han in his carbonite coffin. Yes, it was just a trick shot in the movie, Han didn´t really get freezed ! That´s all I have time for now. But who knows, there might be a full review coming .......... ! Quote
Mr. Elijah Timms Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 Well, thanks alot CopMike. After all my steadfast reluctance, I'm beginning to fear I'll be buying the new set just for these guys. And I can't even tell if I'm happy or angry about it. Quote
Matt Dawson Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 Lovin' the carbonite mould! Much better than the 2x5 brick they used previously... BTW, did you notice the head's at an anlge on the carbonite block? Quote
Big Cam Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 What what, what!!! Mike, I want your ambassader job!! Damn, I'm jealous, thanks for the nice pics!!! Quote
lightningtiger Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 Great find 'CopMike' - all three look AWESOME and the set is worth getting even just for these. Facial expressions for Boba and Han - really awesome ! Roll on mid-year release, 8097 is being added to my buy list. I'm a conformist! everyone ! Quote
fenris Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 Gasp!!! WANT!!!! Boba is so cool. Thx a lot for the very detailed pics! Quote
Holodoc Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 Wow - the best Boba minifig ever! Thanks for sharing this, CM! (Btw. what do you do in Billund so soon???) Once again I'm glad not to collect SW Lego stuff. But these minifigs... No. Quote
Calanon Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 I absolutely love these! I'm definitely going to have to pcik up the new Slave 1 when it comes out, seeing as the only one I have is the blue one with Jango. Only thing I'd say was to have some hair for Boba, but that's not a big issue as you never see him in the film without a helmet. :p Quote
def Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 This is really nice! I'm impressed with the updated Boba Fett helmet and jet pack, plus the cloak. Those designers keep stepping up their game. They really do work for their money. Quote
afosl Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 Hmmm, Boba has a flesh head. I know we know that he is a Jango clone, but seeing as we don't see his adult face in the movies, but I think I might swap his head for a black one. It sounds strange, but Boba still holds an air of mystery and I think a face takes that away. Quote
Markypops Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 Only one slight thing that I am disappointed about is that they didn't give Boba printed arms and legs, ala cloud city! Quote
WhiteFang Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 These minifigs are truly amazingly detailed. I believe this could influence my buying decision towards the new Slave I. Thanks CopMike for sharing this quick review with us. Quote
Commander_Rob Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 Wow. Those minifigs are awesome, Bossk's head is very nicely done and Han's and Boba's faces are perfect. The torso prints in the new style look very good. I fear I might be tempted to buy the set, even though I already have the 2006 version and Jango's. Quote
Future74 Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 (edited) Thanks for those pictures CopMike The great advantage of being a ambassador... I think TLC did a great job on Boba's helmet and outfit. Even a new face! Also love Bossk's head, very nice details. Teeth and all. The carbonite is much better than the old version, I love Han's expression! But the pauldron is in my opinion intended to be partly over the shoulder and not just on the back under the jetpack. Edited April 12, 2010 by Future74 Quote
RoryoCox Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 Thanks for the pictures. This set looks great. The Boba minifigure is one of the best of the summer wave. Quote
Minxter Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 Thank you for the new pictures CopMike I just love these figures so much! Hope they soon vill do an Jango. Minxter Quote
KimT Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 Thanks Micke for sharing these wonderful pics. I must say that I am impressed with the way Boba Fett turned out. Must have Quote
Rufus Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 Must have I couldn't agree more! The new Carbie block is such an improvement, and Boba really looks the part. Plus who can't love Bossk, even is you don't agree with his skin colour? Thanks for sharing, CopMike! Do you have the whole set? Quote
fff Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 Real great, a must-have ... again ... as any SlaveI thanks for sharing Quote
theshadowknows Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 Wow! These minifigs are amazing! I am not sure if anyone has already said this, but I think that the cloak on Boba Fett is supposed to go over his shoulder, and not just behind him. You can see in the brickset page that that is how it is ( http://www.brickset.com/detail/?Set=8097-1 ). Quote
CopMike Posted April 12, 2010 Author Posted April 12, 2010 Thanks for sharing, CopMike! Do you have the whole set? That´s all I have time for now. But who knows, there might be a full review coming .......... Quote
GIR 3691 Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 (edited) Those are some beautiful minifigs. Only complaint is how they seem to overdo the wrinkles on clothing, and the level of detail is a bit too high for what I like to consider LEGO's art style. That Boba is so tempting. Maybe I'll end up buying this set for the minifigs and selling the ship. I don't need 3 Slave 1's. EDIT: ...or not. $79.99? Are they insane? Edited April 12, 2010 by GIR 3691 Quote
UsernameMDM Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 This set is going to be awesome and probably the only Star Wars set I will buy and keep. Quote
FilmGirl27 Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 You are so damn lucky Copmike! Thanks for the pictures! They look great! Can't wait to buy this set! Quote
