Rick Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 Wow - the best Boba minifig ever! Thanks for sharing this, CM! That helmet looks really nicely detailed indeed. Anyone else wondering where that Technic half-pin goes on Boba Fett? Quote
slacker int Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 These are great! it's all been said... I couldn't agree more! The new Carbie block is such an improvement, and Boba really looks the part. Plus who can't love Bossk. agreed That helmet looks really nicely detailed indeed. Anyone else wondering where that Technic half-pin goes on Boba Fett? The detail is amazing and that pin is totally throwing me offOnly one slight thing that I am disappointed about is that they didn't give Boba printed arms and legs, ala cloud city! with so much detailing in these figs i really don't get this decision... still a must buy though. Anio Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 Very nice pics !! Does Boba have blue clothes in the movie ? Or is it a Clone Wars version of Boba Fett ? Quote
Rufus Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 Serves me right for skim-reading the previous posts... Anyone else wondering where that Technic half-pin goes on Boba Fett? It goes on the end of the blaster - it was commented on in the Rumours thread (mostly 'Huh?'). Actually, I watched Empire again recently, and as I recall he does have a blaster with a grey/silver nozzle (I think you see it in the multiple-bounty-hunters-on-the-star-destroyer scene). Quote
Mofo Jones Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 (edited) And of course, now I guess I'll be purchasing this Slave I at some point during its sales cycle. I still have a boxed 6209, which I'd be tempted to sell to pay for this one, but I probably won't. So, my fourth Slave I will be added...gotta wait for a sale though. Hit enter too soon. These figs are amazing. I look forward to the full review soon! Edited April 12, 2010 by Mofo Jones Quote
TheBrickHitHouse Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 Such detail - why not just print the legs?!?! Bossk looks a bit cartoony but I'm just grateful we're getting one definetly getting this set Quote
The Crazy One Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 Im sold. One more to add to my collection. Quote
-JD- Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 That's great! Boba is just superb! Dang, if not the set, I'll be getting him off Bricklink! Bossk looks good too, I like the little widening of his face TLG put in. Han... is another matter... I really dislike that head. Thanks for this 'super-quick' review! Hope you had a nice flight to wherever. Quote
Aanchir Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 Love the new Boba Fett. If the ToyFair pics are any evidence, the new Slave I won't be bad, either, and I can't wait to see the rest of the set's review. New Han-in-carbonite is absolutely amazing. As awesome as the old printed column was, I'm glad we now have a rendition that looks more like it could fit a genuine minifig. Not sure that I care too much for Han actually fitting in the back, but I suppose it's a nice touch that does no harm to the design. And Bossk is cool. But he's a side character, and I can't say I would care all that much about his inclusion. I'm sure people who make Brickfilms will love the new figs-- I certainly would have loved some of today's figs back when I was OCD about building everything from the Star Wars films. Not sure if I'll have the budget to buy Star Wars this year (or ever...), but the upcoming sets are certainly tempting. Quote
Wout Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 Thanks for the pics. Have they also backprinting? Quote
Mac-K Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 Thank you for the early preview CopMike! Since I missed out on the last Slave 1, I'll be getting 8097 for certain. But even if I hadn't, I'd still get this set. Boba is simply fantastic, easily the coolest mini-fig from Lego recently, IMHO. One thing I don't understand is the problem some people had/still have about this new one looking 'too detailed'. Yet, there was almost universal praise for the Cloud City Fett with his rather detailed leg and arm printing. Eh, to each their own. His facial expression looks suitably badass, and very useful for people in need of a variety of flesh faces. Oh, Bossk and Han look good too. Looking forward to your completed review of this set, CopMike. Quote
ikensall Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 Nice figs but i think tlc needs to sort out its priorities for Fetts headgear and i fear the 2006(i think )slaveI will be better than this still i've got Jango Fetts slaveI.Plus those peachie heads need to go. Quote
gunm Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 Very nice! I don't own any of the previous iterations of Slave I, so this new version is a must own for me! I really like the improvements made to Boba and am looking forward to Bossk and the Han-in-carbonite! I think the Ambassadors are doing a great job of making me excited for these upcoming sets, thanks! Quote
not-in-use-anymore Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 (edited) Anyone else wondering where that Technic half-pin goes on Boba Fett? I am... Plus those peachie heads need to go. You're a couple years too late. While these aren't the googly-eyed CW things, Boba seems weird and actually too detailed for me. When I saw the first images of Han, I thought it was just a solid block, but it's a good way of storing him when you don't have too much space. Let me geuss, these along with the mystery minifigs just walked to you through a magic portal? Edited April 12, 2010 by indianajones Quote
pedro Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 Thanks for sharing these pics CopMike, truly awesome minifigs these are. Superb details in the molds and in the graphics. Can't wait to get my clammies on 'em! Quote
Athos Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 I still don't like the new Boba helmet. I do like the alligator guy though he seems a bit too green. I'm not sure I like Han's new shirt either. I liked the old one better. Han's arms look like there were pulled off and put in the carbonite upside down... I'd really like that bit of cloth from Boba Fett though. It would look good as a tattered robe on a skeleton. Steve Quote
roxio Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 I am... the technic pin is for the end of the blaster, bit like a silencer Quote
The Crazy One Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 (edited) Anyone else wondering where that Technic half-pin goes on Boba Fett? I believe its on the end of the gun. I am... That sounds messed up..... EDIT: Damn, got beaten to it. Edited April 12, 2010 by The crazy one Quote
LazerBlade Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 OMG! I did not know that boba looked so bad! I still like the older version!! All the other minifigs are great thou! Can not wait for this set! Quote
prateek Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 Why would you taunt us!? These are awesome. I really like Bossk Quote
jp-30 Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 Other than Bossk's skin colour, these are all beautiful. I do wish they'd make a greeny-yellow, or a mustard or similar. Jabba suffered from the same problem - way too green for my liking. Quote
smokebelch Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 Very cool, these are some great looking figs. Still not sure if the new Slave 1's better than the last- but will def be picking it up for the minifigs. Nice review- can't wait to see more of the set. Quote
SpiderSpaceman Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 I don't know if it's appropriate to say in this topic, but I want the boba molds so bad I wonder if they're doing a mandolorian CW battle pack next year. doesn't seem unlikely... and for boba himself, hopefully in a magnet set early next year? of course I should just get this so I don't miss out on the carbonite Quote
RileyC Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 WOW! The detail on these beauties is incredible and definitely the best minifigs of the year! I cant wait to pick this set up now Thanks CopMike! Quote
Corvus Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 While I like Boba's helmet, the torso just doesn't work...As a minifig, he needs to have the armor scaled to match his proportions. Ah well, I can just take the cape, helmet, and jetpack and put it on the old Boba. Bossk is pretty neat. While I think he shouldn't be green, I don't mind- at least it's nice to have him at all. Han is pretty ho-hum. Just a few extra creases on his shirt... I don't like fleshie anyway, so I'll never use him. Quote
