Posted April 13, 201014 yr I played around with some bricks I had lying on my desk and came across my collection of dark green slopes (just a handful ) and started to build a bush, inspired by those in 5891 Apple Tree House. Then I saw the male minifig standing in my shelf (I had built it earlier) and thought I should try to make a scene for the him and the bush. This is what came out: Now I feel the urge to buy more dark green, it's such a nice colour! /Etzel
April 13, 201014 yr Excellent designing there 'Etzel' - yes the minifigs are spot on for the era. Really like the dark green too and the corner of that building - just fantastic - brickwork and tones spot on ! I'm a conformist! !
April 13, 201014 yr Very nicely done! Now how about a bigger MOC in the same style/era? Would love to see more!
April 14, 201014 yr Lovely colour work! Before I even read your text, those bushes remind me of Apple Tree The folded parasol is great too, but what makes this a perfect vignette is that you clearly get a sense of theme, setting and mood just from this very small corner. One can easily mentally sketch in the details of the beautiful old manor house, for example Now I want to see more!
April 14, 201014 yr A very nice scene. I really like it. Nothing extraordinary, but in the same time end result is great.
April 14, 201014 yr Author Thank you everyone! I'm happy you liked it As mush as I would like to do a larger MOC with a complete house and garden I don't think that's possible in the nearest time. I got so many other ideas of MOCs that have been waiting to be built for so long. But I will put this on my list of future projects. I often build these kind of vignettes when I'm bored with the bigger projects and want to test new things. Vigs are good because they don't use a lot of pieces that I otherwise need for the big MOC (and if they do it's easy to take them apart).
April 14, 201014 yr Etzel: I always like your MOCs. Nice use of the dark green plates and dark tan tiles, a fine contrasting color combination to the eye. The corner of the building really works for me with the tile pattern. Although hard to see, the curtain behind the window is a nice touch. Great little vignette!
April 17, 201014 yr Brilliant work.... the building details, the tree and especially the figures are spot on (it really looks like part of a much larger scene) I especially like the rolled parasol.
