Dragonator Posted May 6, 2010 Posted May 6, 2010 Still, I did get the Games Moderator, even if indirectly I would like a word with you about that, actually, if you wouldn't mind stepping into the back room for a moment...
Shadows Posted May 6, 2010 Posted May 6, 2010 I would like a word with you about that, actually, if you wouldn't mind stepping into the back room for a moment... Take your earplugs, we all know how many words he'll use to say absolutely nothing.
Professor Flitwick Posted May 6, 2010 Posted May 6, 2010 Yes, all of the subtitles are episode titles from Lost. Oh yeah, I just thought that 'Every man for Himselt' and 'The Beginning of the End' where just in general, not lost references. You should do one of those cleverly titled Sun/Jin episodes, like '... In Translation' or '... And Found'.
Big Cam Posted May 6, 2010 Posted May 6, 2010 Oooh yous guys voted early! Im telling No we didn't, the first vote was well after the 24 hour time restriction. Ricecracker, I don't mean to be problematic but why do we have to wait for you guys to tell us to vote if in the first post you say no voting for 24 hours. No where in your posted rules does it say, you must wait for our OK to start voting after the 24 hour mark. It's crawling up on 42 hours now since the first post, and you just now posted in the thread. Now, it was a time for action. All sides had taken losses, and it was time to take the lynching a step further. Killing at night was no longer enough, and the enemy needed to be wiped out quickly. A conviction needed to be made today. The number of votes needed for a conviction today is 8. You may not vote for the first 24 hours of the day. The Rules: This game will follow the basic conventions of a Mafia Game. Each "day", you will be given 4 real days in which to vote for someone to kill. The day will end as soon as a majority decision is reached, or when the 4 days are up. If someone has been convicted, you will find out their loyalty shortly after end of the day. After this a night phase will begin, which will last 2 real days. Then the cycle will repeat. Those players with night actions must PM them to Ricecracker during the night phase. If we do not receive them within the two days, they will not be counted. - There will be two main sides in the game. Your winning criteria will be included with your character PM. - Voting is to be done in the day thread, and should follow the following format: Vote: Character (Player). Please note the use of bold. This is the only format that will be accepted. To unvote someone, the same applies: Unvote: Character (Player). - There is a 24 hour limit at the beginning of each day. You are not allowed to vote during this time. - You may not edit your posts. Violation of this rule may result in a moderator kill. - Please avoid posting out of character (OOC) in the game thread. - Do not ever directly quote something the game moderator(s) have sent to you via PM, whether it be your character information, night action results, or any other form of communication. Violation of this rule will result in a moderator kill. You may of course paraphrase any information you receive; if it is your own words then it is fine. - Do not discuss game tactics or "play the game" outside the game thread, including in the General Discussion thread. You may communicate privately via PM, but this is at your own risk, and should be considered part of playing the game. - Please be considerate towards the hosts. We will try our best to stick to the schedule, and your cooperation will help this greatly, particularly getting night actions in promptly. - There may be certain punishments for not reaching a conviction during the day. Said punishments are final, and are to be obeyed. (Rules borrowed from Dragonator's Mystical Castle). You guys even bolded the time limit. Why give us a time limit if the time limit doesnt matter, when we are really waiting for your go ahead? I don't mean for this to sound rude or cocky, I'm just trying to understand.

It is much easier for us to manage other aspects of the game when we are the ones who announce events. Because BobTCM had started voting, I decided not to post when it was inconvenient. I'm just asking that in the future, you wait for the hosts to announce the start of voting.

In the last Mafia game, the host was miffed that the players didn't start voting after 24 hours because he hadn't announced it. Just a funny paradoxic coincidence...

That's fine, and I respect your position of host, I just wish it would have been relayed from the beginning. You can't expect us to do something we didn't know about. JimBee Posted May 6, 2010 Author Posted May 6, 2010 That's fine, and I respect your position of host, I just wish it would have been relayed from the beginning. You can't expect us to do something we didn't know about. Right, we're not mad at you at all. We just want you to wait in the future. It was my fault, I completely forgot to announce it last night.

We were well after the twenty-four hour mark, so I just assumed that it was automatically okay to begin the voting process.
iamded Posted May 7, 2010 Posted May 7, 2010 Oh snap! Day 3 ended quicker than I expected. One moment it's there, then I check on Red Moon, and when I come back it's locked! Shame I didn't get to voice my opinion. ~Peace
Big Cam Posted May 7, 2010 Posted May 7, 2010 Right, we're not mad at you at all. We just want you to wait in the future. It was my fault, I completely forgot to announce it last night. No problem, I was a little irked at the moment, but it is your game, I should have just bit my tongue. Wasn't my place. You guys are doing a great job BTW, all these night deaths are really moving the game along, just don't kill me Oh snap! Day 3 ended quicker than I expected. One moment it's there, then I check on Red Moon, and when I come back it's locked! Shame I didn't get to voice my opinion.~Peace I know, lets just hope we made the right decision.
def Posted May 7, 2010 Posted May 7, 2010 I know, lets just hope we made the right decision. I checked in when it was at seven votes, but I wasn't convinced, and don't see the point of voting for the heck of it. I didn't find him suspicious. We'll see if this was a witch-hunt, or if Legonator was playing insane way too well. Waiting, waiting....
The Legonater Posted May 7, 2010 Posted May 7, 2010 Well that was lame. i merely stated a list of motives and I'm dead? Sheesh.
Sandy Posted May 7, 2010 Posted May 7, 2010 Well that was lame. i merely stated a list of motives and I'm dead? Sheesh. People have been voted out for much more trivial reasons in past Mafia games, so you shouldn't feel bad. It's just the nature of this game.
Ricecracker Posted May 7, 2010 Posted May 7, 2010 ...just don't kill me We don't kill you, other players do
Bob Posted May 7, 2010 Posted May 7, 2010 People have been voted out for much more trivial reasons in past Mafia games, so you shouldn't feel bad. It's just the nature of this game. I remember in the Baritones I that I convinced everyone to vote off the Camera Man, who was played by Norrington, because he had a TV Camera that looked like a rocket launcher. Adam in Mystical Castle died because his character talked with "sass". I was killed in Witch Hunt Mafia for mentioning that I liked Fish Tacos. Brickme died in Prohibition because he made no sense. YG-49 suffered the same fate in Noir Mafia. All in all, you can be voted off for very silly reasons in this game.

I thought it was because he was first on the scene, and therefore was clearly the murder... Can't believe that theory didn't work!
Zapper Brick Posted May 7, 2010 Posted May 7, 2010 Try not to play the game in the disscusion thread.
Sandy Posted May 7, 2010 Posted May 7, 2010 Try not to play the game in the disscusion thread. Zapper, the games discussed now have been over a long time already.
Ricecracker Posted May 7, 2010 Posted May 7, 2010 Try not to play the game in the disscusion thread. Thank you, but please leave the hosting to JimButcher and I.
The Legonater Posted May 7, 2010 Posted May 7, 2010 People have been voted out for much more trivial reasons in past Mafia games, so you shouldn't feel bad. It's just the nature of this game. That makes me feel better.
brickme Posted May 7, 2010 Posted May 7, 2010 Brickme died in Prohibition because he made no sense. I learned a great lesson from that...
JimBee Posted May 9, 2010 Author Posted May 9, 2010 The Day 3 conclusion is now up, apologies for the delay.
