azim Posted April 14, 2010 Posted April 14, 2010 I think this goes in this thread because it is historic... anyway. This is a model of a Type VIIB U-boat. http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=4434508 Its exactly 100 studs long. http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=4434509 http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=4434512 it doesn't have much internal detail yet... When I'm finished the deck will be able to lift off and I'll have a control room, torpedo room, and engineering room detailed on the inside. http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=4434513 I'm not terrible happy with how the back came out... you can't really see it in the pictures but the bottom of the back part of the sub slopes up. http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=4434516 close up of the deck. You can see the hatch and the machine gun in the conning tower, the two deck guns(not terribly happy with how those came out either), the snorkel and a bunch of sensory equipment. http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=4434515 Indiana Jones attempting to enter the sub to rescue Marion and the ark. Helpful(constructive ) criticism is most appreciated. Quote
Siegfried Posted April 14, 2010 Posted April 14, 2010 Actually only really old history goes in History. If we had everything "historic" in History people would be putting Bros MOCs in here too. I'll move this to Other Themes. (I can't comment on the MOC as the pictures aren't approved yet. Perhaps you could deeplink a few? Quote
Capt. Stabbin Posted April 14, 2010 Posted April 14, 2010 Nice job, the guns look great, and the way you did the water is just superb! Keep up the good work. Quote
samurai-turtle Posted April 14, 2010 Posted April 14, 2010 (First off, you should of cleaned off the dust, it is a little distracting.) That sea looks a little rough, a guy could easily get sea sick. It looks pretty good for a submarine. Is their a inside to the submarine? Quote
azim Posted April 15, 2010 Author Posted April 15, 2010 Ohhh, ok. sorry about that. Really? the pictures were working fine for me. I guess they are working now. Haha thanks Capt. Stabbin I don't really like the how guns came out and I'll probably rebuild them. Yeah I thought the water was pretty cool as well Yeah samuraiturtle I should have cleaned the parts off a little more... this is actually a rebuild of another U-Boat I made and I was to lazy to brush off the pieces... haha yeah maybe a bit too rough. I'll take some pics of the sub without the "water". and some better pics of the front and back. Thanks, yeah there is an inside but I don't have very much detail on the inside yet. I'll hopefully finish the inside this weekend or something and then I'll post some pics. Quote
prateek Posted April 15, 2010 Posted April 15, 2010 That is awesome! And it looks better with the water effects Quote
sok117 Posted April 15, 2010 Posted April 15, 2010 Your submarine is awesome, the guns are a bit week, but the overall is A++. I don't mean to minimod but shouldn't this go in licensed? It is the submarine from raiders I believe. Quote
lightningtiger Posted April 15, 2010 Posted April 15, 2010 Excellent MOC 'azim' - I really like how you have done the ocean - a bit choppy eh ? By the way - why is there a Russian manning a gun on a German sub ? Great designing and I'm a conformist! ! Quote
dr_spock Posted April 16, 2010 Posted April 16, 2010 Nice. Shouldn't the guns be pointed at Indy? It could use some dusting, submarines don't get dusty out at sea. Quote
