Siegfried Posted April 15, 2010 Posted April 15, 2010 I'm not sure we swing the same way, but I'm up for new experiences if you are. Oh that again. Look sweetie, I'll be all for a roll in the hay later, but not while I'm working.
Shadows Posted April 15, 2010 Posted April 15, 2010 Oh that again. Look sweetie, I'll be all for a roll in the hay later, but not while I'm working. I was talking about the spears. Probably.
Siegfried Posted April 15, 2010 Posted April 15, 2010 I was talking about the spears. Well let's just be sure we're talking about the same spears, OK? Anyone else want to try out spear swinging?
Shadows Posted April 15, 2010 Posted April 15, 2010 Well let's just be sure we're talking about the same spears, OK? I'm beginning to wonder if it's just a coincidence that there are 4 spears and 4 sets of stones in that puzzle. Perhaps we should solve the puzzle first and see if the placement of the stones influences the effectiveness of the spear-levers.
Dragonator Posted April 15, 2010 Posted April 15, 2010 *Diesel reaches through the bars and grabs Penny's necklace with his graying hand. Something like an electric current courses through Diesel and he freezes in shock for a moment. He lets go of the gem and looks at his arm. It has gone back to normal.* Well thank the good spirits for that, I thought I was done for there! You're a real gem Penny, thanks so much, you've saved my life. If I could, I would hug you inappropriately, but as it is, I should probably go help with getting us out of this death trap. From one mortal danger to another, such is the life of this hero, it would seem. Anyone else want to try out spear swinging? I would volunteer to swing with you now I'm all healed but I'm not sure what my lovely DJ would have to say about it. Err, DJ honey?
iamded Posted April 15, 2010 Posted April 15, 2010 You're a real gem Penny Hah. I do enjoy a good pun. Anyway, I don't think I'm up for spear swinging, no sir. I'll stick with tile inspecting if you don't mind.
Zapper Brick Posted April 15, 2010 Posted April 15, 2010 Grats, Penny. Sorry about the tranq thing. I'm up to some spear-swinging, I guess.
Peppermint_M Posted April 15, 2010 Posted April 15, 2010 I am glad I was able to help someone. My poor darling Zach... I wonder, is there anything for us the other side of the gate to do?
Sir Dillon Posted April 15, 2010 Posted April 15, 2010 Regarding the puzzle-stones, are any of the pieces set in place, or can they all be moved around?
Hinckley Posted April 15, 2010 Author Posted April 15, 2010 I'd like to look in the bag from the jewelry store for any contents and then sniff the water for any odd smells that might indicate tampering. *The bag is empty and the water smells like water.* I would like to look closely at the protruding dark red (or are they reddish brown?) tiles under the arches. *There are eight dark red tiles, four in each of the two alcoves on the North wall.* Maybe we should try swinging on these spears? It should be safe. Two per spear perhaps? I'm up to some spear-swinging, I guess. *Siegourney and Sandy try swinging on one of the spears. It doesn't seem like enough weight to move it.* I'm beginning to wonder if it's just a coincidence that there are 4 spears and 4 sets of stones in that puzzle. Perhaps we should solve the puzzle first and see if the placement of the stones influences the effectiveness of the spear-levers. *Sheldon is being patient and rational. The others react with shock.* I would volunteer to swing with you now I'm all healed but I'm not sure what my lovely DJ would have to say about it. Err, DJ honey? *DJ silently waves "hello." You doubt she really understands what you are acting. It must be her defense mechanism for all the chaos.* I wonder, is there anything for us the other side of the gate to do? *Maybe you missed something in one of the other rooms. A lever of some sort that may stop whatever might be ticking in there or open the gate or both... Who knows?* Regarding the puzzle-stones, are any of the pieces set in place, or can they all be moved around? *They can all be moved.*
The Crazy One Posted April 16, 2010 Posted April 16, 2010 *Siegourney and Sandy try swinging on one of the spears. It doesn't seem like enough weight to move it.* Not enough weight eh? Is the any room for me to have a go at swinging aswell?
iamded Posted April 16, 2010 Posted April 16, 2010 Well, if there's anything I've learned about tiles, it's that they can either be rearranged to make something happen, or they are covering up some clue. I would like to see if any of the tiles are loose, and could be prised off. I would then like to try prise of any that appear so. I know, I should probably be focusing on the stone blocks puzzle... So, we have four of each of these: Hmm, okay, apparently I can't show you guys drawings from Peeron... That's fine, I'll just show you this one again. Either it combines into one large structure, 2 average sized structures, or 4 small structures. Now, lets all put our thinking/building hats on! I get the feeling, like Sheldon, that we have to sort this out before the spear thing.
Hinckley Posted April 16, 2010 Author Posted April 16, 2010 I would like to see if any of the tiles are loose, and could be prised off. I would then like to try prise of any that appear so. *Which tile would you like to start with?*
Ricecracker Posted April 16, 2010 Posted April 16, 2010 I would like to see if any of the tiles are loose, and could be prised off. I would then like to try prise of any that appear so. I'll help you with that, if it's OK. *Which tile would you like to start with?* I'd like to start with the lower right tile, myself.
fallentomato Posted April 16, 2010 Posted April 16, 2010 Maybe the bricks form a structure that fits in that recess with the spears? I can't seem to figure out how they'd all fit in there though. Here are some ways that the 3 types of stones can be combined. Hopefully that will spur some ideas in someone else.
Hinckley Posted April 16, 2010 Author Posted April 16, 2010 I'd like to start with the lower right tile, myself. *Lower right of the right or left alcove?* Not enough weight eh? Is the any room for me to have a go at swinging aswell? *No. Solve the puzzle.*
Shadows Posted April 16, 2010 Posted April 16, 2010 At this point I'm not understanding where the 12 parts go, but assuming they are divided into 4 groups of 3 and assembled in a logic way, they probably belong in one of these 3 configurations, which will hopefully help someone figure out where exactly to put them. I have ideas... Do any of those seem helpful?
Ricecracker Posted April 16, 2010 Posted April 16, 2010 *Lower right of the right or left alcove?* Right.
The Crazy One Posted April 16, 2010 Posted April 16, 2010 I can fit them together but where would they go? I need to think about this. Oh, and Mr Fred Thomas. Your second construction seems like it could be a border, and by inverting it, it could also be the other side of the outline. Just ideas.
iamded Posted April 17, 2010 Posted April 17, 2010 *Which tile would you like to start with?* I think I'll do the opposite of Richard and start with the upper left tile of the left alcove, then try the upper right, lower left, then lower right.
Siegfried Posted April 17, 2010 Posted April 17, 2010 Maybe the bricks form a structure that fits in that recess with the spears? Well since my swinging achieved little aside from a much needed workout, I think this could be the way to go. I'll need to try this out with some LEGO which I have on me. Interestingly the parts I have look much the same as those stones; just smaller.
Dannylonglegs Posted April 17, 2010 Posted April 17, 2010 I was looking at the stones and thought about 2 ways to put the stones. how about; This also looks good; And here's another, useful for squares;
Peppermint_M Posted April 17, 2010 Posted April 17, 2010 Right... I think I have composed myself enough now. I would like to carefully search the perimeter of the gate, the gateway and the floor around it for any possible catches, hinges, locks, buttons or levers that my allow it to move/open.
WhiteFang Posted April 17, 2010 Posted April 17, 2010 Do you mean your evil father? Maybe you want to explain why we found this on your body while you were passed out? *Pulls out dark gem* If you are still groggy, maybe I can help you explain - you killed Stanton. I don't know why we're wasting time looking for clues when we already have evidence of the killer. What dark gem in my possession.. I have zero knowledge of it, and my father is not evil. Stop those fabrications. If you think you have gotten the evidence, then go ahead and solve the mystery with your answers, and no, I didn't killed Stanton at any point in this tour. If you think you are any much wiser than any of us here, then get the evidence and present the killers' evidence to someone above us. I would like to carefully search the perimeter of the gate, the gateway and the floor around it for any possible catches, hinges, locks, buttons or levers that my allow it to move/open. I will join you to search the perimeter too.
Hinckley Posted April 19, 2010 Author Posted April 19, 2010 Right. *You hear a click.* I think I'll do the opposite of Richard and start with the upper left tile of the left alcove, then try the upper right, lower left, then lower right. *Ingrid presses so many of the tiles so quickly that it's hard to tell what caused what. Three of the tiles created clicks while one of them seemed to cause an odd rush of air sound across the room...* And here's another, useful for squares; I would like to carefully search the perimeter of the gate, the gateway and the floor around it for any possible catches, hinges, locks, buttons or levers that my allow it to move/open. I will join you to search the perimeter too. *Penny and William search around the perimeter of the gate but find nothing that will open it.* *What's this? DJ motionless on the floor bleeding?*
