iamded Posted April 30, 2010 Posted April 30, 2010 Hmmm. Maybe we should lure it onto a pop-up spear, try to get it to stab the demon's shell open. Of course, that runs the risk of impaling our friend here. Or we could use the sledgehammer! But we'll need a sledgehammer...
MagPiesRUs Posted April 30, 2010 Posted April 30, 2010 Hmm, have we confirmed that the stone blocks have to form a square? Could we arrange them so that they block all four alcoves? Maybe that'll stop all these demons from popping up.
Shadows Posted April 30, 2010 Posted April 30, 2010 Sandy! Shoot Chris with a tranquilizer dart. Not only is it nicer than letting him suffer, but 'dead' (inactive) weight should be harder for the little demon turtle to handle. At the same time, why don't all the men and Siegourney grab the demon by the shell on both sides and try to flip him on his back so he can't get up, exactly like the pathetic turtle shelled freak from hell that he is! Then maybe we can pry Chris out of his claws by trying to hack and yank off bony appendages (of the turtle, not Chris).
Hinckley Posted April 30, 2010 Author Posted April 30, 2010 *The apparition leaves it's business in the corner and tackles the little rock demon.* *Samantha snaps a picture (which she somehow ends up in... ) and everyone sees that the apparition is a familiar young red-headed man. He removes the rock shell from the demon.* *All at once as horrible rumbling growl is heard all around. The apparition of Stanton cries out in fear and disappears in a puff of red. The rock demon lets go of Chris Owen and takes a defensive stance in the corner, a gray mass exposed above his boney appendages.* *In the corner of the room sits a little structure Stanton built before attacking the demon.*
Peppermint_M Posted April 30, 2010 Posted April 30, 2010 I would like to go and check the other rooms carefully for a method to open the gate. I hope my necklace is enough protection considering all the chaos they are unleashing in there!
Dragonator Posted April 30, 2010 Posted April 30, 2010 *Sylvia and Sheldon both cut Diesel a little...on the face.* What the hell was that for you psychotic...!!! Those could scar you know! ...Hmmm, are scars sexy? Perhaps we should do something about the turtle demon now it is exposed? Sylvia, if you wouldn't mind co-operating for once, pass me the sword so I can do my epic kill-thrust, or else do it yourself, before poor Chris is de-fleshed!
Svelte Posted April 30, 2010 Posted April 30, 2010 Fine, take the sword It looks like the apparition left us a clue as to how to assemble the fragments. Quick, draw a diagram before another demon attacks us!
MagPiesRUs Posted April 30, 2010 Posted April 30, 2010 Stanton! That must've been who I saw when I was exploring behind the temple. I wonder if that growl was from the black hooded figures I saw chasing him before... Looks like he left a little structure for us. I'd like us to try making four of those. Then we can place one at each of the four alcoves and (maybe?) prevent more demons entering the chamber.
Zapper Brick Posted April 30, 2010 Posted April 30, 2010 *Awakens* Where's the first aid kit? *Faints*
The Crazy One Posted April 30, 2010 Posted April 30, 2010 *Barely spoken* Oh God, help me. Kill it please...

Then we can place one at each of the four alcoves and (maybe?) prevent more demons entering the chamber. *Not quite...* *Barely spoken* Oh God, help me. Kill it please... *Chris Owen has survived the attack. It is clear that Chris has an incredibly strong spirit as the demon wasn't able to extract it completely from him. If the group can do away with the demon, Chris should be all right with a little help from the gem. However, it is Sylvia who is holding the sword and Fred who holds the shotgun...*

If the group can do away with the demon, Chris should be all right with a little help from the gem. However, it is Sylvia who is holding the sword and Fred who holds the shotgun...* Ahem. *Diesel takes the sword from Sylvia with a smile and a quick thank you, before carefully positioning himself to strike at the grey mass above the crab-demon. With a speedy thrust, Diesel stabs into the grey mass and rips it apart, doing as much damage as he can to it without hurting Chris. * May the might of silver send you back to whence you came, foul beast!
Siegfried Posted May 1, 2010 Posted May 1, 2010 *Everyone turns, shocked, when they hear Chris cry out. He has been grabbed by the bony little demon...* He's so cute! I wonder if he'd make a good pet. Even so... *I'd like to stab the exposed back of that cute little demon with my +6 Stanton Bone.*
Hinckley Posted May 1, 2010 Author Posted May 1, 2010 *Diesel pulls the sword away from Sylvia and does a flying leap stab into the gray matter on the demon's "head." An eery red halo appears as the demon begins to quiver, then finally explode!* *The remaining bone shards turn into evil little white worms and burrow into the ground around Chris...* *I'd like to stab the exposed back of that cute little demon with my +6 Stanton Bone.* *Oh...and Siegourney helped too.*
Siegfried Posted May 1, 2010 Posted May 1, 2010 *Oh...and Siegourney helped too.* Jolly good! An assist! *I spend 5 minutes in silence to mourn the loss of the cute little demon.*
Dragonator Posted May 1, 2010 Posted May 1, 2010 *The remaining bone shards turn into evil little white worms and burrow into the ground around Chris...* *Breathing hard*Phew... umm, that's a bit weird... *Oh...and Siegourney helped too.* Thanks Siegourney!
Dannylonglegs Posted May 1, 2010 Posted May 1, 2010 Indeed that was weird. I JUST WISH THAT DJ WOULD SHOW SOME SIGN OF LIFE TOO.
Sir Dillon Posted May 1, 2010 Posted May 1, 2010 Indeed that was weird. I JUST WISH THAT DJ WOULD SHOW SOME SIGN OF LIFE TOO. You're yelling in my ear. Can we try this for the puzzle: Sorry for the ghastly image. Red is the inverse 75 slopes, blue is the regular 75 slopes, and green is the smaller inverse slopes.
Hinckley Posted May 1, 2010 Author Posted May 1, 2010 You're yelling in my ear. Can we try this for the puzzle: Sorry for the ghastly image. Red is the inverse 75 slopes, blue is the regular 75 slopes, and green is the smaller inverse slopes. *You got it! Diana solves the puzzle. The structure fits right over the four spears in the wall causing them to all sink at once. (pictures soon) Immediately the ticking of the wheel stops. It seems the dangers of the wheel trap are in the past. Now if only they could get that gate open. Penny and William seem to remember something happening in the East Library that didn't seem to yield a result. Perhaps that has something to do with it.* *After a brief moment, the wheel begins to turn backwards to the starting point. Perhaps something great will happen once the wheel reaches the starting point again. Perhaps some major clues will be revealed! Excellent job, Diana! *
Shadows Posted May 1, 2010 Posted May 1, 2010 *Perhaps something great will happen once the wheel reaches the starting point again. Perhaps some major clues will be revealed!* *draws his pistol and whips out his bone* I'm not falling for that again. Whenever things are looking up, it all goes to hell. Nope, not gonna trick me this time... *stands on guard, watching everything around him*

Perhaps something great will happen once the wheel reaches the starting point again. Perhaps some major clues will be revealed! Excellent job, Diana! * This is normally about the stage the DM sneakily sets a dragon on the adventure party. I'm not falling for that again. Whenever things are looking up, it all goes to hell. Nope, not gonna trick me this time... Agreed. *Diesel raises his sword warily and looks around for the dragon.* It's here, just wait, you'll see...
The Crazy One Posted May 1, 2010 Posted May 1, 2010 Um, can someone help me? I'm not exactly in a fightng demons state at the moment.
Zapper Brick Posted May 1, 2010 Posted May 1, 2010 Um, can someone help me? I'm not exactly in a fightng demons state at the moment. Niether am I. Can someone help?
iamded Posted May 1, 2010 Posted May 1, 2010 And my wall spears have descended back from whence they came, now offering me no protection! Can some one help me?? Okay, okay, I don't need any help. So the med-kit did nothing for Penny, let's give it to Chris. He looks sounds like he could use it. Also, I'll follow suit and maintain holding my bone in a defensive yet fierce manner.
Hinckley Posted May 2, 2010 Author Posted May 2, 2010 *Diana bodily lifts the stone structure onto the spears. The wheel begins moving backwards while Diana waits for some praise. It doesn't come...* *Meanwhile, with the threat of the booby-trapped room aside, the room returns to normal. At least they are safe inside while Penny and William look for a way to unlock the gate. Fred Thomas and Sheldon tend to Sandy's wounds. Donna holds her daughter waiting for some sign of awareness from her. Siegourney and Rich keep Chris Owen's spirits up while waiting for Penny to return with her necklace. Diesel and Sylvia discuss who should hold the sword...* *Diana finds a piece of paper stuck to the bottom of the stone structure. Stanton must've left it there as well, before stepping in to save Chris.* *Penny runs towards the East Library. She finds William staring at two new figures who have appeared in the Grand Chamber.* *"Should we try to kill them?" William asks. "They don't seem to be doing anything. Let's get the others out of that chamber and deal with these two later. I have a feeling that what we are looking for is in the East Library. Even though the others aren't with us, I suppose it would help for them to maybe shout out suggestions to us as to what we may have overlooked in the East Library..."
