Nice quickie review, CopMike! I think the minifigs in this set are fantastic, but I'm not sold on getting this set. I like the colors on 6209 better. But, since I'm a sucker for a sale, I'll probably end up picking it up eventually.

I would get it if it wasnt 70 but 60$ or less.

If you would pay $60, what's 10 bucks more?

TLG's come a long way from their original Slave 1. I thought the last version was pretty much the definitive set, and a great build, as well, not to mention the other bounty hunters that came with. I'm not as crazy about the brighter color scheme, but I do like the new parts that surround the wing mounts (round and fluid like the real model). The main model looks pretty similar in all other respects, but the real plus is the improved Boba Fett. He looks awesome...how he should have looked from the beginning. I never like the backpack/helmet combo. Bossk joins the growing pantheon of licensed and non-licensed molded alien figs, and looks great, and the new Han, with his carbonite sleeping chamber, is a long awaited improvement to the printed brick of past sets. Truth be told, I never cared much for the Slave 1 until TLG's Jango version, and then the previous one from '06 or '07, which I felt was superb in all respects. In LEGO, anyway, it has become one of my favorite sets, and I'll definitely be picking up the new version.

Thanks for the great review, CopMike!

I think that this new Slave I is almost too similar to the 2006 one. Except for a different minifigure selection and color scheme they have a lot of the same features and designs. I wish that Lego had instead taken a stab at a set we haven't had redesigned in a while.

Thank you for the nice review.:classic:

Dark Green

Can you put the Dark Green quarter dome of the Grand Emporium put on the Dark Green quarter dome macaroni of this set? That would make some funny architecture.

Can we get some pictures of the instruction booklets? like a random page and the adds? And where does that fringe sticker go?!?!?!?

Thanks for the review, but this actually does not seem to be much better than the '06 version. What is kind of incredible is the 4th version of a ship.

The colours are much better, and there are some improvements, so this one will fly to my house I hope :classic: The stickers ...

Great review, CopMike, as always! Definitely looking forward to this, as I missed the previous models. The minifigs are just the icing on the cake!

Of course, I'll have to build a stand so I can display it "in flight"...

Can't really fault them for copying 6209; it's simply very well designed. I think they made this primarily as a way of introducing the new Boba fig, which doesn't break my heart at all. :)

I don't care how similar this is to 6209 as I don't own it.

Very well done CopMike! I loved the way you did this review and still, my question,a question that all my friends asked after I showed them your amazing review: where did you get it!

Good review.

I like the design of this Slave I the most but the colours were better on the 6209 version.

are the bricks 2 or 3 studs height ?
I don´t think you´re interested in how high the brick is in studs, I´m guessing you want to know the height in bricks?

Well, a quick look on Bricklink could have told you this: Brick, Round Corner 3 x 3 x 2 Dome Top  .

Well done CopMike. I love the new minifigures. There seems like there are a lot of unorganized colors going around, but with all of the good parts it comes with I may need to pick one up!

Good set overall. Nice new features, but it needs a few more I think. :sceptic:

Albeit, I'm still picking one up.

Thanks for the great review CopMike!
