Dannylonglegs Posted April 15, 2010 Posted April 15, 2010 From now until the end of May, Eurobricks will take you on a journey through the desert sands and Lands of Licensed Legends. On your pilgrimage to Alamut to recover the mysterious Dagger of Time, you will face many exciting and dangerous challenges - pouty princesses and clawed Hassansins, madcap camels and awesome ostriches, an angry Nizam and his menacing minions.... And allot of annoying alliterations! Further details are coming. Which means yes. This is great! at first I was confused, but now that I found this topic I get what's going on. Did we have a theme month for Atlantis too, cause I must have missed it ~Insectoid Aristocrat--with a turban and sand in his pants! Quote
Oky Posted April 15, 2010 Posted April 15, 2010 Aw man! I was so hoping for a Toy Story month! Oh well, PoP month is still pretty neat. I agree that it's a bit early, though. I don't have any PoP sets yet either because I'm waiting for the double VIP points days at the lego store (April 26 - 30). Hopefully I'll get the sets in time to participate in the theme month. I'm very curious what the contest will be about. Will it be about creating oriental-themed MOCs? Or perhaps something more whacky, revolving around the word "pop"? I hope it's the first guess, as that could spawn some really great MOCs like Svelte's Alamut Gate. Can't wait to see all those PoPified avatars! Quote
The Nightwing Reborn Posted April 15, 2010 Posted April 15, 2010 Great theme . Although I will only be picking up these sets for the new flesh heads and bodies/pieces for great tatooine work, these sets are very well designed and I'm a big fan of Jake Gyllenhaal (not to mention the lovely Gemma Arterton). The story of PoP is also very exceptional from what I've read, so I'll be looking forward to what contests come around this month. Quote
Dannylonglegs Posted April 15, 2010 Posted April 15, 2010 Or perhaps something more whacky, revolving around the word "pop"? This will not make sense to anyone who is not a Lovecraft cultist fan but if it comes down to a pop contest, my entry is sooooo this ~Insectoid Aristocrat Quote
Jack Bricker Posted April 15, 2010 Posted April 15, 2010 This is great. I love the PoP games and I would really like to participate in a contest. Unfortunatly, I have just gotten into the Star Wars theme and the new PoP game is coming out it May so I may not be able to participate. Ah, well I will enjoy everybody's creations and the new forum theme for now. Quote
Etzel Posted April 15, 2010 Posted April 15, 2010 Nice! Now I'm even more excited to get my hands on the sets (I didn't think that was possible, I really, really hope they're available in LEGOLAND Billund next week). I have had an idea for a oriental MOC for some time now, I hope I will find time between writing my paper and building my entry for the Bayonets of Dawn contest, to transform my thoughts and ideas to a real MOC. Oh, and nice new style on the forum. Quote
Siegfried Posted April 15, 2010 Posted April 15, 2010 Did we have a theme month for Atlantis too, cause I must have missed it Aw man! I was so hoping for a Toy Story month! Yeah, I agree it would have been nice. The timing was all wrong though. (Toy Story 3 is opening June 18, which is bad timing too!) Quote
AwesomeStar Posted April 15, 2010 Posted April 15, 2010 Ah! So this is what the new skin is all about! Very nice, and I look forward to the upcoming developments in this month ~A.S. Quote
Superkalle Posted April 15, 2010 Posted April 15, 2010 Very slick, very smooth, very easy on the eyes. However, I wonder if it could be a good idea to have a more netural permanent Eurobricks banner on top, and then a space below it that could change each month. Quote
Alldarker Posted April 15, 2010 Posted April 15, 2010 Sweet! I really like the new skin! I received all five Prince of Persia sets yesterday (import from the USA) so I'm all set for the Prince of Persia month. I loved the PoP games trilogy (on Playstation 2) A LOT, and I can't wait to see the movie. Quote
not-in-use-anymore Posted April 15, 2010 Posted April 15, 2010 Every non-theme-specific area I go to is tan! (which is good for hiding words) It's getting me confused and making me think I'm in the liscensed themes... Quote
The Penguin Posted April 15, 2010 Posted April 15, 2010 Great! I must say it's very nice to have such "hot" skin after the long "winter" one. ) And Dastan seems to be pretty happy as well, fighting with those guards (or whatever they are), since he has a smiling face. ) Good day, ladies ang gentlemen! ) Quote
Rick Posted April 15, 2010 Posted April 15, 2010 Ah! So this is what the new skin is all about! Very nice, and I look forward to the upcoming developments in this month Yeah I was looking for a topic in 'Website & Forums' as well. Great new skin: nice effects on the sword fight. Quote
Holodoc Posted April 15, 2010 Posted April 15, 2010 Now I'm even more excited to get my hands on the sets (I didn't think that was possible, I really, really hope they're available in LEGOLAND Billund next week). Exactly my thoughts! Isn't Copmike in Billund right now? Come on, make it happen! Quote

Ratshot Posted April 15, 2010 Posted April 15, 2010 This is gonna be fun for sure, I hope we see more "Theme Months" from now on and saddle up your camel For some reason that made me laugh Quote
Fugazi Posted April 15, 2010 Posted April 15, 2010 Great new skin, congrats! I wish it would stay on for more than just a month though! Oh and yeah, I don't have any of the PoP sets, but I'm still excited Quote
Matn Posted April 15, 2010 Posted April 15, 2010 This is great! I'm looking forward to this new theme, with all it's wonderful figures and parts. I'm not very interested in the actual theme and its sets, but I'll do my best for this Prince of Persia month. Now I'm hoping I'll get my hands soon on these sets, as I haven't seen them around yet. Great forum theme also. I hope we'll see something similar in November. Quote
Siegfried Posted April 15, 2010 Posted April 15, 2010 I wish it would stay on for more than just a month though! ** Poof! ** Your wish has come true! It'll be up until June. Quote
Fugazi Posted April 15, 2010 Posted April 15, 2010 ** Poof! ** Your wish has come true! It'll be up until June. Yay!! I... I wish all of the PoP sets would appear in my mailbox tonight! (hey just trying my luck, it worked once!) Quote
Oky Posted April 15, 2010 Posted April 15, 2010 Yeah, I agree it would have been nice. The timing was all wrong though. (Toy Story 3 is opening June 18, which is bad timing too!) What's bad timing about it? I wonder if it could be a good idea to have a more neutral permanent Eurobricks banner on top, and then a space below it that could change each month. Interesting idea, but I think it's more space efficient this way. I must say it's very nice to have such "hot" skin after the long "winter" one. ) And Dastan seems to be pretty happy as well, fighting with those guards (or whatever they are), since he has a smiling face. ) I agree with both of those statements. I, too, think that the constipated face would have been better for the banner. And while we're giving constructive criticism, I also think that there is too much empty space on the right side of the banner. Perhaps some more Hassassins would have been good there. ** Poof! ** Your wish has come true! It'll be up until June. Siegfried is a genie!! *runs off to rub a blue bucket* Quote
Big Cam Posted April 15, 2010 Posted April 15, 2010 I was at Target today and I saw two of the PoP sets for sale and I almost bought them, but did not since my LEGO budget is currently zero. Quote
Commodore Hornbricker Posted April 15, 2010 Posted April 15, 2010 Love the new look! Desert pirates. How could you go wrong with that... Quote
Capt. Thomas Foolery Posted April 15, 2010 Posted April 15, 2010 Change frightens and confuses me. If you need me, I'll be under my desk, curled into the fetal position, weeping and gently rocking to and fro until the header looks the way it's supposed to again. PoP is certainly an odd theme for me. I'll likely buy all of the sets even though I have no interest in it as a video game and absolutely no desire whatsoever to see the film. But based on all the new elements, colors, and minifig parts perfect to making a more complete Indiana Jones universe, I adore this theme. Time to return to under the desk. [sniffles] Quote
