not-in-use-anymore Posted May 14, 2010 Posted May 14, 2010 Hehe, yeah, I can't resist them Slave Leias, so when I saw them at the Build-A-Fig station, I couldn't help but buy all of them! So that's why all I ever find are boring pirates/city parts ... Quote
JimBee Posted May 15, 2010 Posted May 15, 2010 Wonderful entries so far, eveyone! A few that stand out to me so far (that I have not mentioned before) are: The Exo-Force Persian Version: Nice interpretation! I think mashing two themes on opposite ends of the Lego spectrum like that are the hardest- fictional futuristic sci-fi and millennium-old desert tales. The harmony in this one is perfect. Oky's night club: Funny entry. I particularly like the gold statue in the back - nice touch. Lego_maniac's Nazim Palace: That's huge! I can tell you put a lot of time into this one. When I saw it, I thought the PoP version of Hogwarts castle. Nice one. Quote

When I saw it, I thought the PoP version of Hogwarts castle. Nice one. thanks for your coment. I've seen this castle few days ago and you'r right, it could be a Persian Version of the set 5378. Indeed I don't know of the same MOC could belong to 2 categories... Anybody knows ? Quote
Skalldyr Posted May 15, 2010 Posted May 15, 2010 (edited) Hey all, Great entries so far. Btw; I added my last entry, enjoy! Oh and (to avoid double posts)....lisgr's The Ostrich Race Game is absolutely amazing! Edited May 16, 2010 by Skalldyr Quote
Inconspicuous Posted May 16, 2010 Posted May 16, 2010 I've posted my Category 1 entry. I'm happy with how it turned out, especially the collapsing spike pit. Next time I won't procrastinate so much. I look forward to the final entries (if they are any more)! Quote
lego-maniac Posted May 16, 2010 Posted May 16, 2010 Great Job Inconspicuous ! The moving walls make me think about the death Star 10188 isn't it ;) ? I really like the chain that 's wrapped around the stem of the dome, that's a really good idea ! good luck Quote
lisqr Posted May 16, 2010 Posted May 16, 2010 Oh and (to avoid double posts)....lisgr's The Ostrich Race Game is absolutely amazing! Thank you. Due to lack of time and brick, I have to do something unorthodox. Mixing my game hobby with lego is an interesting experience. Quote
Skalldyr Posted May 16, 2010 Posted May 16, 2010 Haha, JopieK your The Palace of the Flying Fakir is great. But I have to say that somehow the musik, is just to cool: Da da da daaa da da quäk quäk, Da da da daaa da da quäk quäk Quote
Inconspicuous Posted May 16, 2010 Posted May 16, 2010 Great Job Inconspicuous !The moving walls make me think about the death Star 10188 isn't it ;) ? I really like the chain that 's wrapped around the stem of the dome, that's a really good idea ! good luck Thanks! I based the wall design off of the one in the Death Star. I thought that the same technique could be applied to an Indiana Jones-style collapsing room, and I tried it out. The chain feature took a lot of experimenting to get right. I had originally tried to make the cog sideways, but I suddenly got the idea to have it vertical. In my original design of the set, the torches were supposed to be a chandelier that Seso dropped so Dastan could climb out the pit. However, there wasn't realistically enough room for a large chandelier to fit through the hole, so I gave it a more sinister purpose- burning victims! Quote
greenskull139 Posted May 16, 2010 Posted May 16, 2010 Wow lego-maniac, I can tell it took some time unlike mine I might be posting. Although I do have to say it's a little too big for my taste even for a UCS, no offense though . But besides that it's a great idea and I would say you have an excellent chance of 1st. Quote

On his way he discovers weapons, food to regenerate, bag guys to fight, saving points and more ! So, effectively, the result is a bit "impressive" but disconcertingly easy to enjoy all the rooms! I think I'm under 3000 parts and to compare to the death star, it's a quit slightly smaller! More over the moc is modular to increase once again the playability my 6 year old son has become completely addicted! I kind of realized my childhood dream. I'll post a video soon to show all the features of moc and any pitfalls it contains! Thanks for comments ;) Quote
krystalKING Posted May 17, 2010 Posted May 17, 2010 I'm done my market stall, and just in time too!I wanted to capture the feel of a real Persian market stall. It has a two colored roof and a chest for storing ware's. Quote

willy_poodle Posted May 17, 2010 Posted May 17, 2010 I have posted my creation. I was leaving it for later all the time, because I had to sort my bricks, at least the most useful colours, but finally made it in the last day. I know it's not the most detailed of the creations posted, but it was supposed to be set-like, so it is. Mr palmtree, I like your set based on classic POP game. I was thinking about making something in this style too. Quote
JopieK Posted May 17, 2010 Posted May 17, 2010 Nice one Mr. Palmtree!!! I have played that classic game too and it is very obvious to see the comparison with the game and your set! Quote
pedro Posted May 17, 2010 Posted May 17, 2010 Oh my gosh I cut that fine! I've uploaded my entry for Expand The Theme, just in time too. I accidentaly left several photos I was going to use at work (doh!) so had to work some of my images from scratch. I'll upload more images to the Brickshelf folder later. Just want to say there are some stunning entries in all three categories. It's great fun seeing what everyone's come up with and amazing the effort you've put in - some truly inspiring work. Good luck in the contest everyone! Quote
YG-49 Posted May 18, 2010 Posted May 18, 2010 I just hope your entry isn't disqualified for customization, greenskull. Quote
greenskull139 Posted May 18, 2010 Posted May 18, 2010 (edited) I just hope your entry isn't disqualified for customization, greenskull. YG-49, if you read the rules, customs are allowed. Just not any BA or BF or any others like that. Oh and lego-maniac, lov'in the saw-blade pit! Edited May 18, 2010 by greenskull139 Quote
prateek Posted May 18, 2010 Posted May 18, 2010 Wow. It's gonna be really hard to vote on this one! Quote
YG-49 Posted May 18, 2010 Posted May 18, 2010 YG-49, if you read the rules, customs are allowed. Just not any BA or BF or any others like that. I did read the rules, and it says: #3 Custom decals and non-LEGO string and cloth/canvas/paper are allowed. Third party commercial parts (e.g. Brickarms, Brickforge) and customised minifig parts are not allowed. Quote
lego-maniac Posted May 18, 2010 Posted May 18, 2010 are we allowed to open a post about our creation now ? Quote
pedro Posted May 18, 2010 Posted May 18, 2010 are we allowed to open a post about our creation now ? At a guess I'd say we'll have to wait 'til after the competition. Quote
willy_poodle Posted May 18, 2010 Posted May 18, 2010 I think I should have added some chest or some other stuff for more details, but I was in a hurry. Quote
