Hey all,

I was having a chat with a business associate who works in Aussie television (can't say which one yet!) that wants to look for a married couple in which one is an avid Lego collector and their partner isn't so enthusiastic. They think it will make great TV and I think it'll be a fantastic opportunity to show off ye' old LEGO COLLECTION to the world once you YouTube it for us and the rest of the internet cos well.. who really watches tv at the scheduled time these days anyways! hehe

From what I hear, you put aside one day with you and your partner for filming and you get to win a prize if the judges think you're the most deserving. (Hopefully the prize is Lego related if the Lego nut wins lol. I haven't asked yet but will ask if there's any interest.) She said the offers open anywhere in Australia since its a national show. *shrug*

Feel free to PM and I'll pass along.

Just remember to stick up the YouTube link after you done the show for me to see!

I Heard about this on another internet forum for reptiles, exactly the same story just with with reptiles instead of Lego..

I'm skeptical. If it was for TV they'd want you to sign ownership away prior to posting it. This project is either in very early stages (and should be ignored) or is fake (and should be ignored).

I'll be waiting for more proof prior to filming myself playing with LEGO naked.

Anyone who would even consider doing this should think twice about the motives of the producers. It's not about presenting your hobby in a good and positive way, it's always about showing off what they consider weird. If it was meant to be positive, they would ask for couples who enjoy it together instead of setting it up for conflict and ridicule.

That's not what you said when I asked.

As someone who has worked in the Australian television industry I can categorically state that this is not how any professional network or production company operates.

To anyone considering doing this be very careful, although I suspect the bottom line will just be wasting your own time.

I'd urge anyone considering doing this not to touch it with a million foot barge pole. Some Googling has revealed they are not only looking for couples with a side order of Lego and reptiles, but also home brewing and drag queens.

They will not portray you or your Lego collection in a positive light.
