obsidianheart Posted February 11, 2012 Posted February 11, 2012 (edited) Aside: Superkalle, that link doesn't seem to work for me, what's behind it? This is the updated file with substitutions by Calabar! 8637 - Agents: Mission 8: Volcano Base LDD File - Direct Link Errors: - Missing Prints and Stickers, substitutions made on minifigures, - Parts 78c07 Metallic Silver Hose, Ribbed 7mm D. 7L / 5.6cm (x2) unavailable, unable to find suitable replacement or a way to fake it, these parts were omitted. Calabar found a workaround for the substitutions. - Part 78c11 Metallic Silver Hose, Ribbed 7mm D. 11L does not flex. Longer flex tube actually flexes, original part set aside behind model. - Parts 75c25 Dark Blue Hose, Rigid 3mm D. 25L / 20.0cm (x2) do not flex. Calabar also found a neat workaround for this! - Marbled pattern for Parts 47847pb02U Trans-Neon Orange Rock Panel 2 x 4 x 6 with Marbled Dark Bluish Gray (x2) unavailable, so I left them trans-neon orange. Edited February 14, 2012 by obsidianheart Added Direct Link for the lxf file. Quote

zinfinion Posted February 11, 2012 Posted February 11, 2012 (edited) I received confirmation from @Kadabra, who reviewed Cole's Tread Assault, that the wings are indeed all in click at 90 and 67.5 degrees when folded tight to the vehicle. I also took a look at and they do appear to all go in click. There is quite a lot of play in all the Technic beams and pins, which LDD obviously can't replicate, so that clears up the mystery.Next time I'll look before I leap and save everyone some confusion. Calabar Posted February 12, 2012 Author Posted February 12, 2012 8637 - Mission 8: Volcano Base1) Parts 78c07 Metallic Silver Hose, Ribbed 7mm D. 7L / 5.6cm (x2) unavailable, unable to find suitable replacement or a way to fake it, these parts were omitted. 2) Part 78c11 Metallic Silver Hose, Ribbed 7mm D. 11L does not flex. I'm, uh, not even sure I used the right one in the model. 3) Parts 75c25 Dark Blue Hose, Rigid 3mm D. 25L / 20.0cm (x2) do not flex. Again, I'm not sure I used the right ones, but none that flexed were long enough. 1) you can replace it with 4x 72504, connecting that with an axle and not with technic pins. Tested and working perfectly. 2) It seems the right piece, but... don't flex! Only the longer 72039 seems able to flex. 3) You could try with the only flexible hose, the 76270. If necessary, "sum" it to the shorter 55668 to reach the length. The one you choose should not be the right one, 184 mm vs 200 mm. There is a brick missing in the propeller system of the copter. Look here to the file with some improvements, including groups! Quote

Problem has been reported here. Therefore Tile with Pin is replaced by Plate 2x2 with 1 Stud (87580). - Window 1x4x6 (6160) not in LDD. Replaced with Window 1x4x6 Frame with 3 Panes (57894) with Glass 57895. But maybe even more important: this thread now contains the LXFs of all TRAINS sets from 1998 to the present day (and all except one from 1993-2011 ...) Edit: problem with turnstile solved with help from Zinfinion and Superkalle. Edited February 12, 2012 by Sjuip Quote

Oops, I knew about the missing bricks and forgot to add them in the error list. Sorry about that. How did you get them to stay in there? I tried for a bit, but had no luck. Also, I tried 4 72504s, but I used pins, so it didn't work. Never thought to use an axle. Thank you for the updated version, now I can re-add the modifications I made to it and place it back into my diorama file. Edit: Whoa, I got a yellow brick there under my stats. Thanks! Calabar Posted February 13, 2012 Author Posted February 13, 2012 @obsidianheart Placing the brick in the copter system was easy using a simple scaffolding. Flex the Hoses around the copter propellers was another kettle of fish! Post a notice here when you'll update your post above. Quote
Venari Posted February 13, 2012 Posted February 13, 2012 (edited) First post, just for fun. 2509 - Earth Dragon Defense - Theme: Ninjago Shame that the sticker graphics and Ninjago dragonhead/minifig graphics are not available... but it's all correct without spares shown. Earth Dragon is a fun set too, with his sturdy whiplash tail. I'm afraid we had to collect all the dragons once we'd bought the Ice Dragon (already modelled.) While Fire and Lightning are fine specimens with big wings, Earth dragon has attitude! 2509-Dragon.lxf Enjoy! Ven. Edited February 16, 2012 by Venari Quote

Sjuip Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 It took some creative LDD building, this monster , but finally here it is! 4957 - Ferris Wheel - Theme: Creator [bricklink] [brickset] [Peeron] 4957 Version 1 LXF Notes: - No issues with bricks, colours, decorations or adhesives!! Only the two White Rubber V-Belts (70902) are placed separately. - Major fault: I could not get the supporting frame to link up with the ground plate. The supposed angles of the beams are outside LDD tolerances . Therefore, the linking axles in the bottom ends are not connected (the frame and wheel 'float' above the ground plate). The model is built from instructions. I do not own the set, so I do not know how much strain the beams of the supporting frame are under in the actual model. - If anybody can get the frame to link up: let me know! Quote

The post is good too, the only thing I could ask you to improve is to crop the blank horizontal stripes in the image. @obsidianheart About decorations, I ever prefer a replacement is found, if possible. Especially for minifigures' faces, that without decorations seems really incomplete. Quote

I've run into this before and there is a hilariously complicated workaround to get it to not collide. Unfortunately, I have no idea how I did it. Still no idea how I did it, but here is the fixed model. Definitely a bug. -Rear upper x224 Dark Blue Windscreen 8x6x2 Curved can't be placed correctly due to a boundary error with the pair of 61678 Curved Slopes 4x1 underneath it. This is also definitely a bug. If you use a jumper plate to offset the 61678, they won't collide. It is only when the sides are aligned that the collision occurs. -Possibly the most frustrating error, the doors won't close.
