I've had my basement treasure chamber for years, but it's not nearly as nice as yours (shown below).

The serious answer is... When somebody reaches the rank of Pirate Regulator they are rewarded with a portrait.

For some reason the pirate formerly known as Erdbeereis didn't receive a portrait when he was promoted to Regulator, probably because I was too busy to inform the painter of the good news.

Actually, I think at some point I did have a portrait, but I think it must have disappeared, maybe when we changed to the new look. The new one looks even better.
