Hello

Just bought a box in Australia.. same config (3 sets + standard adds)as the European/USA ones. They are look spectacular from a distance. But up close, the quality is not up to Lego standards.... The black plastic is especially of a cheaper quality. Some limbs move well, some not so well, some too well (one clown hand needed some pliers:( ) . Standing them next to real ones is vaguely disappointing :(... Mind you knowing this I think I would still buy them :) Just saddened to think another 50cents or dollar would have made them so much better.

My box from Shop@Home came in today, and if I'm good at human-eyed barcode reading, I got the same 3x, 4x and 5x as most everyone from any place in the world.

Since I first checked 3 times barcodes and only then read this post to cross-check, I'm quite confident I'm right about them. (Sometimes even I don't trust myself).

Just a question, is the chicken leg piece different than usual? It seems that the gripping part is longer.

Yes it is. It can now be hold by a minifig without problem.

I scored my Collectible Minifigs tonight. TRU in LaCrosse, WI had them in the 'back room' as they said there wasn't enough room on the floor right now. Glad I got there when I did. We unwrapped a box tonight and the quality of the figs is great. On par with anything that is out in sets right now.

I bought three cheerleaders, and two nurses in Melbourne, Australia today, and while I agree with the reports that the grip on the baseplate is less than normal plates, I can't find fault with either the plastic or printing quality of the figs in any way.

I picked up two boxes at my local TRU yesterday and Stacy and I opened one box last night. It had the same distribution as White Fang's so it looks like the packaging must be the same all over the world. As far as quality goes, we were very impressed with the level of quality of the color and printing. These are definitely on par with anything that is coming out in sets right now.

Happy hunting!

Thanks for the review and the analysis so much wf. Since someone already posted, I'll post (I didn't want to bump) When you showed us the picture of the back of the single minifig bag, I realized it was a clown, love those barcodes!!

For all the Canucks here, I just spotted these in my local Walmart here in Vancouver. I grabbed some for myself and picked up some more for

my nephews. I would say the figures a fairly good quality. Not as nice as the regular figs that come in the sets but still very good.

The legs don't seem to be as tight.

All in all though, a very nice set of unique figs that will add to anyones collection. I was pleased with my purchase. Love the Robot.

By the way Walmart is selling them for CAN $2.86 each.

Cheers.

What ive done is cut out the barcode on the left side and tape it to a piece of paper with the figure that came in it written next to it, then when i go to the shops i take the list and compare barcodes until i find a few i dont have recorded, then make sure the ones you have picked out are all different too. Doing this i have already had a 7 out of 7 success rate on getting different figs.

Simple and handy if you cant scan them yourself or cant print out the list from the net. But as the collection comes to the end, it will no doubt get tedious picking up packs and checking through 12 barcodes each time :sceptic:

yeah that will be a pain, checking each bag against 11 codes ! I would try and find yourself a printer, its so much easier !

All done now! We found a local toy shop where they had 2 boxes of them on a regular shelf away from the tills. It took around 15 mins for us to find the remaining 9 i needed.

Also i thought i may point out, when i detected one i already had, the next one back was the same too, ie. i found a ninja then the 4 behind it in the same row were all ninjas! They seem to be packed in rows of the same minifig. I also found 3 zombies all next to eachother too. Weird as i thought it was the same selection per box, but randomly placed in the box.

Oh well, now i have the full set!! Now i will buy another full set but leave them sealed this time so more valuable in the future :classic:

I already have 10 out of 16. I got the cowboy yesterday and I must say that I'm really impressed with it! The quality is probably the best from the ones I have -- the printing is EXCELLENT, the colours very vivid and the head has the perfect yellow. Not to mention the dark tan fedora...

It is officially my favorite minifig from the series and I don't think that any of the remaining six will change my mind.

EDIT: Yeehaaw!!!

Bahh got 11 out of 16 yesterday at my local TRU, funds did not permit the final 5, when I left there were 3 nearly full boxes of them, went back today and another AFOL had purchased every remaining one.

the only one i am missing now is the nurse. in the UK everywhere has them behind the counter so its not easy to pick them.

I managed to get the last 2 at the Toys R Us near my work, and i got the Robot and Diver and they were keeping them at the main service counter because with the bags being so small they were afraid of people stealing them and on top of that they wre only allowing 6 bags per customer. I have yet to see any at Target or Walmart in my area also.

For those who have found them at Walmart and Toys R Us here in the US where did you find them located at?

I grabbed 8 at my local TRU yesterday. Interestingly enough, they had them in the back of the store with the rest of the Lego. I was able to pull out a US-barcode cheat-cheat and go through them. If I had more time, I probably would've been able to 'shop' for exactly which ones I wanted.

Unfortunately, I was in a bit of a rush, and ended up with: Forestman (LOVE IT), Nurse, Cowboy, Zombie, Zombie, Cheerleader, Diver, and Robot.

Should also point out that the store had two boxes there-- I'm going to stop back today and see how hard it was hit, but as far as I could tell I either got there just as they put it out or it's just not getting that much attention. Either way, I'm hoping to grab some others today.

Also, I could be wrong, but from what I could tell the same figs were NOT scattered throughout the box, but rather sitting together. For example, if I grabbed the last two on the very right side of the box, they were BOTH the same bar code. IE grabbing just six all together will likely give you multiples of only 2 or 3 different figs. I'd definitely recommend picking randomly all across the box if it's a new one.

And as many of you said, it's definitely FUN-- felt like a kid opening them up! Even my wife was into it.

I'm loving the new Minifigures! I've been an off/on Lego fan, but two of my buds are really into Legos and really hooked me with these! Finally being able to have some more unique characters and buying them sans sets will really liven up any Lego setups! I have a few from series one - the Robot and Caveman are my faves, but I'm really looking forward to series two and almost all of those.

The only thing I haven't really enjoyed is the blind box concept, but I put some work into a printable decoder to make up for it! It prints a little bigger than a quarter of page.

Looks great Noisy, it's nice to see another list that's easy to read. I'm assuming that's the US barcodes?

Well I'm a bit disappointed; stopped by my local TRU again and the minifigs were nowhere to be found. I checked the front checkout lanes and where the LEGO was, and I asked a worker there but of course they were clueless about the whole situation. :hmpf_bad:

Update: Went back today, and in less than 24 hours two boxes were GONE. No word on when they get the next shipment.

Thanks for the US codes, Noisy. I was just about to look for them in other threads.

I stopped by TRU last night b/c I saw that US posters were reporting sightings. I went in unarmed (no bar codes) and instead of feeling them, I just compared codes to make sure I didn't get any repeats. I can always go back later (read: tomorrow) for doubles I DO want.

I had seven sorted when I was distracted. This six/seven year old was telling his grandmother that the set she was picking out for him only had one man in it. It was a Star Wars set, so I'm sure the grandmother was not looking forward to buying the larger sets just to get more minifigs. He wasn't interested in the army building SW sets b/c they didn't have big ships or something.

I interrupted with, "Excuse me ma'am (yes, I am a Texan), but I know a little about legoes (yes, I know that word is a no-no here, but it's a regional term). If you want more 'men', here are singles that you can add to sets. They are random (I wasn't about to explain bar codes to her), so you might get a cowboy or a space man, but you can't beat the price."

She took my advice, which was cool, but it distracted me and I picked up two Crash Test Dummies (not cool) in the eight I bought. Of all the ones I didn't want doubles of, the CTD's fall somewhere in the middle. I do so much customizing, It really doesn't bother me, but that double could have been a robot or wrestler, which would have been so much better.

I would have gotten more on the spot, but I had to get the new Kingdoms impulse (court jester)!

By the way, there was no display. They were in the box on an upper shelf between Toy Story and Duplo. You'd have to be at least five feet tall just to see the packages. I guess that's how they hope to keep sticky fingers away.
